Claudia's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
The Carrot Cake and Bread Pudding was phenomenal!
The service was excellent! Didn't have to wait on anything! The staff went above and beyond my expectations!
My only complaint, it was our Anniversary and the staff seated us half way near the rear of the restaurant by a loud group of people (4). They were extremely loud and their conversation made it difficult for us to converse with each other.
We were greeted upon arrival and sat by the host. It was my girlfriend's birthday so it was a very special occasion and our first time at this restaurant. We sat at our table for 15 mins. without meeting our server. The host sat a group of people who came in after we did. We then noticed him offering them Champagne and pouring their glasses. Then we noticed that there weren't any servers in the venue and decided that we were just going to leave. Then the host walks over to us and asks if he can start us off with a glass of Champagne. We informed him that we had not even met our server yet and he then notified us that unfortunately they were short staffed and we did not have a server and he was there to step in and help out. Had he told us this information prior to seating us, we would have opted to leave and go elsewhere, which we ultimately did. Poor customer service on their part. I will never set foot back in this establishment. It almost messed up our night but luckily we were able to get a seat at Joe's Stone Crab a few blocks away.
It is pretty close to my hotel, I don't walk too long to a restaurant in cold weather.
I reserved for my daughter birthday, she order a the first steak in the menu, she likes medium rare. But apparently it is over cooked, waiter say they can remake, my daughter didn't want to have them in trouble.
I ordered asparagus as side to share, it is too old .half of it can't be chew.
We also order sea food meal and starter for other people, it is better, maybe they cooked seafood than meal.
As location is good in the capital, people don't care food very well. Anyway, we enjoy one night over there.
This was my third visit to Claudia's, and I'm glad that I chose to book Anita's birthday dinner here, again, for the second time. We were pleasantly greeted and seated at the bar, while waiting for our guests to arrive. Juan saw to our every need and desire, and made Anita's birthday a memorable one. Everyone enjoyed themselves as well, while sampling cocktails and engaging in conversation. Oh, and the food was great!! A really big "THANK YOU" goes out to Juan, the Juan and only!!! We will be visiting again soon.
Wanted to love, but not up to par with decor. Service was good, but empanadas tasted ordinary-- Costco maybe, Brussels sprouts and drunken rib eye overly sweet, unbalanced seasoning. Quite a few of mussels were unopened and flavor not memorable. Overall would only go back for happy hour to enjoy decor and nice cocktail.
I read a lot of reviews and they were a mixed bag. Many stated the food was great, but overpriced, and the service was lacking. But of course, I still wanted to try it out myself. I took my SO out for his birthday. It was a Friday night, and I was shocked that it wasn't busy. The interior is stunning. We were met by the hostess who asked if we wanted a drink at the bar prior to dinner and we accepted. It's a 360 bar with a long fireplace down the middle so you can't see the other side once sitted. We sat down on the non busy side and wait for about 5 minutes and watched wait staff pass us but never acknowledged us. Finally, I asked the hostess if only one side of the bar was being served and she said, No. you can sit anywhere. She told someone to help us. So from the very beginning I was getting the feeling that the reviews on service were accurate. They aren't very attentive. We had a few lovely drinks before being sitted for dinner. Waitor came immediately and we ordered food. Now, I find it impressive when a waitor can remember all of your order without writing it down...but if you can't remember everything, WRITE IT DOWN. Our waitor came back twice asking us to confirm options we had chosen. 1st was meat temp. 2nd. Side items. The food came and everything was fantastic. Everything was very tasty. However, I do think the meats are slightly over priced but it was very good so I didn't mind.
I do think this restaurant caters to the lunch crowd more since the restaurant wasn't busy on a Friday night. They had live jazz which was nice. Luckily we were sat in the back so we could talk but still enjoy the music.
Finally they did bring a nice glass of champagne and warm chocolate cake with ice cream for the birthday boy - it was a nice touch.
Restaurant was beautiful, the food was great, but overpriced ($250 + tip for 2 people), and the service was lacking in areas.
I would recommend this place for lunch if you're in the area. But never to drive out to it.
We decided on this restaurant for our one year anniversary. We ran late for our reservation but they were still very accommodating and we didn't feel rushed. Our waiter was wonderful and our entrees came out delicious. I ordered the sea bass and it was perfectly cooked, my husband had the salmon and his was delightful as well. We Will be back.
Food was excellent. Had mussels appetizer, steak, grilled vegetables, all cooked and seasoned very well. Food arrived hot, which is a good thing. Great atmosphere, and executive chef even took time to check on the meal and make other suggestions for the next visit. Great experience.
I had the worst service experience at this restaurant. Not to mention a lot of the menu items were not available because the waitress explained that the night before the restaurant was rented out for an event and the owner spared no expense or menu item. The manager was not accommodating at all in fact he had an attitude at times and took 20-30+ minutes to come to the table to speak with myself and my guests about the menu discrepancy. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Had a wonderful time celebrating with my wife our 32nd anniversary. The atmosphere was amazing. It was also good seeing Charles and Claudia whom my wife and I have known and the hospitality they shared with us on our special occasion. We will go back again without it being a special occasion. Just love the place.
I️ was very unpleased with my experience at Claudia’s. My girlfriends and I️ met for a little get together because one of my girlfriends just lost her husband. When we first arrived; we had to wait even though we had a reservations and then when we finally got sat; we complained because they sat us at a small uncomfortable table- it was 6 of us trying to fit into a booth. The food was just okay and so was the service . At the end when the bill came; the server informed us we would have to pay $6 more after using 3 or more cards. We were never told that when we sat down or when we made the reservations. I️ plan to never go back ...visiting Claudia’s was my first time and I plan to never go back.
I tried the petite filet and asparagus and both were very well prepared. The filet was flavorful and tender and the aparagus was not overcooked. The carrot cake with sorbet was also good. I sat at the bar and the service was also great. I was impressed with the overall decor and ambiance (they had a band playing) and I would certainly return.
I loved the website and the restaurant and food. I have to admit the website gives you a feeling that the dress code is professional or after 5. I was surprised to see people without collar shirts and several people in jeans and tennis shoes. We were defiantly over dressed for our first visit.
My Husband Luis and I have been wanting to have a date night at Claudia's, but hadn't had a chance to go. We decided to check out Restaurant Week and the food and service was great! We were very pleased with everything and will be returning for our next date night!!
It was our first time to Claudia's and we invited friends to come along. I had seen it on line some time ago and was attracted to the beautiful decor and apparent ambiance. I then looked at there menu and was impressed with the wide selection of dishes and their wine list. We first sat at the bar for drinks and met Maya the bartender. She was great and mixed very nice Real Mojito's. We then happen to have a chance to meet Claudia the owner. She was fantastic and we all spoke for sometime and shared the history of her restaurant as we enjoyed our drinks. She was wonderful all night and made sure we were taken care of. Time slipped away at the bar and we headed to the dinner table. The server was amazing himself. We had filet mignon, salmon With the Mac and cheese. The Cabernet Sauvignon we selected was a hit and drank it all night. After dinner, we got a tour of the place. Great ambiance for a business dinner or holiday party. I would highly recommend Claudia's Steak House. By the way, their happy hour, which we arrived early enough to enjoy was over the top!
Nice setting that had potential. Strike #1 was the menu on their website was totally different than one we were given. Food came quickly (we were only ones there ,Strike #2). Bottle of wine we ordered from limited wine list not in stock, Strike #3. Signature Drunkin Rib Eye was surprisingly tough for marinating 24 hours and Salmon was undercooked. And for the final, bill was almost $200. Not recommended
