Overrated! The only good item was the fried plantains. The Caesar salad was boring, the steak was undercooked and when sent back came back cold because the butter on top did not even melt and the Brussels sprouts were tasteless!
If you don’t want to be video taped eating your steak don’t go there, they have at least 12-15 security cameras in the place...a steak restaurant..really?’ Perhaps all the money went to the bad decor so they didn’t have any left of seasonings.
My wife and I wanted to try out a new Restaurant and it was a great experience for the both of us. The service was awesome and the food was great! 5 stars.
The food was great! I will definitely be going back again!!
Decor was very unique and posh. The food was just OK. I expected more. Our entrees came out before the side dishes were ready and when they did arrive, they were undercooked. Our waiter was pretty good but the bar messed up our cocktails several times. I don’t think we will go back.
The waiter and the food was good. The manager was rude and very unprofessional.
One of our guest ordered a crab cake but sent it back after one bite because it had onions and corn in it. He re-ordered a burger which was satisfactory. When the bill came he was charged for the returned crab cake and the burger. He asked the manager why he was not told he would be charged for the returned item. The manager stated, that is why we kept the food because "You People " always do that. Secondly we bought an outside dessert and was charged a $50.00 cake fee, when the dessert was given to the manager to refrigerate there was no mention of the cake fee. The police were called although no Laws were broken. There were 14 people in our group and we will never patronize Claudia's or any other establishment owned by Claudia's. This is a birthday club and we regularly patronize restaurants in the DMV and have never received such poor treatment by an establishment.
We enjoyed out night. Service was wonderful. Food was fantastic. Soft jazz playing in background. Romantic! Juan was so fantastic and took good care of us!!
Juan was amazing! I will be back.
Good service and excellent meal.
The restaurant has so much white, that half way into the meal, you forget where you are. The restaurant’s food is below average. Garnish is rosemary - everything and everywhere from calamari to steaks. The steaks are tiny - ribeye isn’t up to par with other steak houses. The paella, is good but overpriced. The lamb was rough and lacked jazz. The filet mignon - was good. Monday and Thurs bottles of wine are 50% off - but they didn’t honor the Monday - wasn’t even going to ask. The servers, really good people, but you can’t understand what they are saying - you can make sense - don’t waste your money or time here... dine at Capital Grill or Ruth Chris, or better yet, Charlie Palmer.
Waited about an hour and a half before being sat, even though I had a reservation. There was a special Valentine's Day menu and the food seemed to be rushed/they were just mass producing a bunch of stuff. All the breading on my calamari had fallen off, neither that nor my steak was hot upon delivery. It was not worth the money. Very disappointing because my previous visit here was pretty good, will not be returning. Server was great though and tried to accommodate us, management was not helpful!
Selected Claudia's for Valentines Day. Lovely decor, live music was very nice. Service was good but nothing exceptional. Food was good except for the 22oz bone in rib eye which was a big disappointment. I was surprised and disappointed to get such a chewy steak from such a high end steak house. Although flavor was good, I've had a more tender steak from Outback! Sorry to say!
This was the worst experience I have ever encountered. I frequently dine at 5 star restaurants and I decided to try something new in Valentine’s Day and it was horrific! I made reservations and they were not honored and they sat me after waiting over an hour to tell me they didn’t have items available on the menu. The hostess was pathetic, lied and rude. It now occurs to me that they do not honor Open Table reservations and I was 30 minutes early for my dine in. So I waited total time to sit 1.2 hours.
Excellent food and Staff. We arrived when it was opening so it was very quiet and the staff was very attentive. It was also raining outside.
The restaurant is beautiful with the bar and fireplace. The Happy Hour food and drinks were delicious. The Jazz Band was awesome! Our Head Waiter Juan took very good care of us. All the food came out at the same time and food was delicious. I will be back!
Went for restaurant week. While the menu was limited, the food was excellent!
Restaurant Week dinner.
Enjoyed our girl's day out. Muhammad was wonderful and a very attentive server.
I came here with a group of 4 women visiting DC from the NY/NJ area and chose this restaurant due to its restaurant week menu. I will say that the food and ambiance was excellent. However, I found the service to be slow and at times inattentive. We were served dessert with the exception of one person. We also weren't given spoons. We couldn't find our waiter so we asked a waiter nearby for assistance. He the.notified the floor manager Brett who just stood there and did nothing. The restaurant was not busy and he neglected to attend to us. We waited a few more minutes and decided to speak to him directly. Afterwards, he handed us the spoons and lied about the one dessert that was still missing by stating they ran out of that paticular dessert; however 10 mins later a table was served 2 desserts that supposedly "ran out". Poor management.
We went for restaurant week and portions were extremely small. Dessert Cheesecake was still frozen.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday & they brought us champagne on the house! The flamenco was also a bonus!
Everything was great! Server didn’t acknowledge my birthday.
Made reservations for #RWDMV on a Friday night for a friend and to meet up over dinner and it was great. Plus side, it was LIVE Jazz Friday and it was very nice but a tad bit too loud. I didn't like that fact we had to practically yell at each other but I love the fancy ambiance. We had the drunken rib-eye... I definitely won't mind coming back here for another RW date.
The Design and overall appeal of the restaurant is fantastic! It is very inviting and makes a great impression. The staff is very friendly, but things were lacking. The food took a very long time to be served, we did not get great attention from the server after the meal was delivered and the food was just OK. I was looking for a great place and although the atmosphere is fantastic, the food and service just made it OK. Hoping for better...
I was meeting with a mom friend of mine. We were happy to get to try a nice restaurant without the kids. The ambience was fresh yet glamorous. It would be perfect for a girls night out or a date night. The food was really tasty and the servers were friendly.
The food was amazing. However, service was lacking. There was an extraordinary long wait time between meals, which is hard especially if you are going there on a lunch break from work that is typically 1 hour . They were inconsistent with serving food and only had one person bringing out food to a 9 party table.
Was expecting a traditional steakhouse...was pleasantly surprised! Beautiful interior, fantastic food and service! Great live jazz! Will definitely eat here again and would highly recommend it.
Excellent food. Daily lunch specials are very good. Service is slow. Not enough staff for the number of patrons on the day I dined.
The Carrot Cake and Bread Pudding was phenomenal!
The service was excellent! Didn't have to wait on anything! The staff went above and beyond my expectations!
My only complaint, it was our Anniversary and the staff seated us half way near the rear of the restaurant by a loud group of people (4). They were extremely loud and their conversation made it difficult for us to converse with each other.
Horrible New Years Celebration
Very nice. Will definitely go back.
Great choice for a special occasion!
The service and food were great! Our waitress was very nice and attentive. My only complaint is that the food was overpriced. Other than that, I had a great experience.
Great service and excellent food! Had the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back! The chocolate lava cake was dry, but everything else was perfect!
it was beautiful im just mad yall didnt give me a cake or something for my birthday as i was told you all do that
Food was great and Juan was a great waiter!
Note that the main door is on 15th not K Street. Access is available on K but not clearly marked - management needs to address this.
Great food, incredible wine list and outstanding service! Claudia's has become by dinner destination every time I am in D.C.
We were greeted upon arrival and sat by the host. It was my girlfriend's birthday so it was a very special occasion and our first time at this restaurant. We sat at our table for 15 mins. without meeting our server. The host sat a group of people who came in after we did. We then noticed him offering them Champagne and pouring their glasses. Then we noticed that there weren't any servers in the venue and decided that we were just going to leave. Then the host walks over to us and asks if he can start us off with a glass of Champagne. We informed him that we had not even met our server yet and he then notified us that unfortunately they were short staffed and we did not have a server and he was there to step in and help out. Had he told us this information prior to seating us, we would have opted to leave and go elsewhere, which we ultimately did. Poor customer service on their part. I will never set foot back in this establishment. It almost messed up our night but luckily we were able to get a seat at Joe's Stone Crab a few blocks away.
It is pretty close to my hotel, I don't walk too long to a restaurant in cold weather.
I reserved for my daughter birthday, she order a the first steak in the menu, she likes medium rare. But apparently it is over cooked, waiter say they can remake, my daughter didn't want to have them in trouble.
I ordered asparagus as side to share, it is too old .half of it can't be chew.
We also order sea food meal and starter for other people, it is better, maybe they cooked seafood than meal.
As location is good in the capital, people don't care food very well. Anyway, we enjoy one night over there.
This was my third visit to Claudia's, and I'm glad that I chose to book Anita's birthday dinner here, again, for the second time. We were pleasantly greeted and seated at the bar, while waiting for our guests to arrive. Juan saw to our every need and desire, and made Anita's birthday a memorable one. Everyone enjoyed themselves as well, while sampling cocktails and engaging in conversation. Oh, and the food was great!! A really big "THANK YOU" goes out to Juan, the Juan and only!!! We will be visiting again soon.
