Great meal! A busy place with delicious food!
Three of us ate dinner at Civico. We ordered the Olives, Calamari Fritti and the Carpaccio for appetizers. All 3 were excellent with the calamari being my favorite. The breading was very light and delicate and they were not over fried at all - delicious. For entrees our friend ordered 2 more antipasti - the octopus and the eggplant dishes. She was happy with her choices. My husband and I shared the fish special, branzino, along with a side of the roasted cauliflower. Excellent flavors. For dessert we shared the panna cotta and the limoncello cake. Both were delicious. We did not have a bad dish the whole evening. Our server was Antonella. She was very attentive, professional, and has a cute bubbly personality. It was a delightful evening and I would gladly come back again.
Thank god this is not in our neighborhood as we would be eating here 7 days a week! It was better than moms cooking! Best lasagna and carpaccio I’ve had in a while. Definitely would go back.
Waiter was available but non intrusive. Great food!
We have eaten here before and felt this dinner was just ok. Our server was a little impatient when asked what the specials were. Felt very rushed too. Not our best experience at this usually great restaurant.
The food as always is amazing! The service is exceptional and the canolis are incredible. The wines are superb! Its an great place for lunch and dinner-highly recommend it!!
wonderful ambiance and delicious food. Can be noisy but so what
Sitting outside was nice. Sitting inside was not an option. Over the top loud!!!
all good...I need 50 characters so all good....yyyyyyyyyyyyy
I had a dish on Wednesday night with linguini noodles and what I thought was supposed to be fennel and mushrooms with a light cream sauce. I even asked if I could exclude the cream sauce but the waitres said it would be "too bland".
What is got was a dish smothered in yellow cheese and I did not even recognize any light cream sauce. I was having nightmares about the meal afterwards. I was so dismayed by the quality. I picked out what mushroom and fennel I could find and left half the dish for the dumpster The waitress could tell I was not happy with the selection.
Had a dish of olives as an appetizer and they were just off the vine. Not much meat and very tough to eat.
We just loved this place we discovered while we were in SD. Pastas superb. Great and reasonable wine list. Authentic Italian dishes. Lovely ambience.
While visiting San Diego we ventured to Little Italy to try Civico 1845 based on online reviews. We made reservations online and the experience was seamless. We arrived on-time and were pleasantly greeted and seated immediately. Our gleeful server shared the specials and took our drink and app orders. To say that the food and the service were stunning is an understatement. The carpaccio was some of the best we've ever had, so was the lasagna special. The food was fresh, bright, and we literally "yummed" at every bite. Our colleague who is gluten-free said that her gluten-free gnocchi with winter squash and mushrooms was one of the best she's ever had. We can't speak highly enough about our entire Civico 1845 experience. Go, sit down, and enjoy this heavenly slice of Little Italy.
Awesome! Specials were great. Loved the wine list.
Amazing food, amazing service. Server was extremely polite, food came out fast and piping hot. It’s a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Will definitely be back.
We ordered off the regular menu and the vegan menu. Everything was to die for delicious! We be back!
Great food, good service but nothing spectacular
We were expecting more...a little disappointed in the meal. Our server was pleasant and attentive, but main course came out extremely slow...the pasta/sauce was just okay. Caesar salad was okay.
Our first visit to the Civico 1845 was divine--the ambiance was very nice and the food was delicious and divine--some of the best Italian I have ever had! There is patio and indoor seating. Great wine options. For those like me who are not savvy on authentic Italian dish descriptions--I used Google and our waiter gave me accurate suggestions on what may be best for my taste. Also, I eat gluten-free meals and the pappardelle was the best gluten-free version I have ever tasted. Definitely worth a dinner date!
Fantastic! Loved that they have Vegan options - which were delicious!
The food and service is exceptional. Always a pleasure to go there and enjoy the sights and sounds of Little Italy along with some of the best food in San Diego.
The food was delivered at different times and it was cold. It was tasty and a lively atmosphere, but the service and food temperature could have been better. The hostess was excellent and worked hard to get us seated right away even though they were busy.
It was really good! I loved the vegan lasagna and their vegan “calamari”! Everyone really enjoyed their meal and the ambiance was great. The food did take a really long time to come out though, and our waiter was a little sassy.
The food we had was absolutely amazing. It was a great experience.
A fine place to eat in Little Italy, a cut above the more well-known restaurants. Food is very good, if a little formulaic. Service is efficient and polite, if a little formulaic. Busy most evenings; definitely make a reservation, since it's a small place.
Amazing. Went 2 nights in a row
Phenomenal! We were visiting from out of state. A local friend recommended Civico 1845, claiming they had the most authentic Italian food in San Diego. He was absolutely right. The lasagna special was the best we've ever had--flavorful, meaty--and the tiramisu was perfection--light and airy. The service was friendly but not overbearing.
Authentic and fabulous food.
We were recommended to Civico 1845 by a college friend of my daughter's. We really enjoyed it! The whole atmosphere in Little Italy was fun. The service was very good, although we didn't see our waiter much, others were very helpful. The food was delicious and the décor and ambience in the restaurant was great. We would definitely go back and would recommend!
The vegan options here are wonderful! It’s a great place for date night or a night out with friends.
Civico 1845 was an absolute stand out in San Diego restaurants. With both meat eaters and vegans catered for with full separate menus, this restaurant was a highlight to our trip to the area.
We love everything about Civico. Food, service, ambiance, price... We live most of the year in Lake Tahoe but eat at Civico every time we come home to SD.
What a wonderful menu. The pasta was melt in your mouth tender. Scallops were amazing. Even the Caesar salad with the shaved Parmesan was delicious. Tiramisu was maybe the best I have ever eaten, as was the cannoli. Well done! I will be back!
Civico 1845 is very good. We appreciate the vegan offerings and the bread/dip is fantastic. The tricolore salad was really good. The entrees were all good but nothing really stood out. Service was very uneven.
Went here for dinner for the first time and everything was wonderful! Our server was Marcello and he was very nice and helped us pick a bottle of wine that we all liked. All of the food was delicious, will definitely come back!
Seated quickly. Extremely nice service. Food was fabulous
Just an enjoyable meal and atmosphere. Could be one of the top 10 lasagna ever!
The ambiance of this restaurant is a mix of modern and rustic kitchen feel. I chose civico because they have a dedicated vegan menu which I really appreciate when going out to eat with friends and family. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to food allergies. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we had a lovely time!
Felt like a true Italian trattoria, delicious food, great wine selection, just right service for the type of lively place it is. Plus the location is great. Looking forward to going back!
Food was delicious. Service was great. A definite must.
Great for casual dining with really good food and service
