Food very delicious they are very proud of it also. The prices are. Very high
Although CityRange is considered a “ steak” restaurant, my husband said that the rib eye he ordered was the worst steak he ever had. It was so tough, that the steak knife could not even cut it.
This place is just okay for a steakhouse. I have actually had better steaks at "believe or not" Texas Roadhouse.
Met friends for evening out. Great food. Excellent service.
Not much to pick from for lunch. Would not allow us to use bar menu even though they first said yes.
Salty food and taste bland.
Really great food and excellent(Deanna) service! We had the beef medallions and a “dusty” martini, we will be back to have this again.
Waitress was nice but slow to take our order. The table we were first sat at was like being at a kiddie table. The beginners were wonderful, the main dishes were bland the dessert was like a boxed frozen cheesecake.
The prime rib was very good and arrived at the level of doneness as ordered. It was a busy Saturday night for our server and so the arrival of the different courses was spread out over a longer time period than would have been ideal for us. Overall the service and food was very good.
Waitperson was inattentive. Drinks ran dry, slow service, plates needed to be picked up and were left for a long time. Overall very poor service.
Food was mediocre. Crab cakes had a lot of filler. Grilled cheese sandwich for kids menu should come with explanation regarding bread. It was a grain bread. Kids don’t like grain bread. Cheese was not American but instead some kind of cheddar. Most of the sandwich left by kiddo. Fries were also soggy.
I was taking my wife out to celebrate her birthday and the sale of our home in New England. We heard good things about the restaurant and wanted to try it for ourselves. Being a chef, as well as a restaurant and culinary professor, I can be a little fussy. Having said that, here is my critique.
Appetizers: The crab bisque was excellent! The Calamari was uniquely different (not being served with either the traditional Marinara or Lombardy sauces), with its balsamic reduction – very good but a little dry and I did not taste even a hint of pesto
Entrée: My wife had the Black & Blue, which she said was very good, and the kitchen was accommodating to exchange the asparagus for broccoli.
I had the Prime Rib, which was good but not great. The meat seemed to have been seared on one side as if it was placed on a flat griddle just before plating. Not traditional or what I was expecting, thus changing the texture a little. The asparagus was cooked to perfection, but the garlic mashed potato serving was a little dry and I could not taste the garlic, but maybe that is just my personal taste buds.
Dessert: the chocolate truffle cake was very good and I would love to know who makes it!
Our server was very professional and polite, as well as informative. He lost a star because he forgot our order for extra bread, but he did bring me a sample of two beers so I could decide what I wanted to have with my dinner, so I believed he still deserves a very good rating.
Stopped in Spartanburg for the night.....it was our first visit to your restaurant. We ordered a bottle of wine....the waitress had an issue opening the bottle....the cork broke off.....she took it away and I was expecting her to come back with a NEW bottle, but no, she returned with it opened. You really shouldn't do that. The next issue was timing.......we felt far too rushed. We ordered our food.....my salad came and I didn't have time to finish it as the main course arrived. Don't expect that at a steak place. I think most people would appreciate a few minutes between courses to sit and relax.
The food was okey.....my steak was descent enough, but my wife ordered prime rib......i think there was more fat than meat.
Anyway....just wanted to share my experience with you.
Everything wa excellent! Would love to go there again.
Enjoyed, was really a great experience. It was great food, service and the perfect place for our sons 21st birthday dinner!!
We had been here before and enjoyed a great meal but this time was very disappointing. My pork was dry and so salty I couldn’t eat it. The biscuit was like a rock. My husband’s prime rib was also dry. The best thing about the meal was the great service from Trev and the delicious Key Lime Pie martinis.
City Range is an awesome restaurant with a great atmosphere and a cozy place to take your wife on a date night on a special occasion or just to have a good time and great food ! I would recommend this restaurant too anyone who loves a peaceful place to go and get great service
Service was not as expected but I do understand it was a busy night. Food was good and the ambience was great
It was a very enjoyable experience, good service, good food, and very reasonably priced. I will go back again. THANKS . . .
The food was very good. Service was excellent. We always enjoy going to City Range. We look forward to next year- Valentines Day.
Good food and service. Decent variety but pricey. Should have dinner rolls with out the garlic for the customers that do not like garlic.
Made a reservation on opentable for valtines day with my girlfriend, very nice experience. Up class ambiance, great food and deserts, and long wine list. All around a great experience.
Great food and service
Room on arrival at 6:30 was cold and had to request they turn on the fireplace. Steak was thin, fatty and of Golden Corral quality, not a steak house! The salmon was good and worth the price. I believe the dessert was snicker city or something like that. Was so hard half could not be cut with a knife. For over a $100 dinner for with a glass of wine, not worth it. Service was excellent.
Was good overall but I asked for a more private table for conversation when making reservations and that did not happen even though they were not that busy at noon on Sunday.
Our waiter was wonderful. Excellent. The food was terrible. There was 10 of us. No person enjoyed their food at all. Our steaks were terrible. Our Salmon was also. My Lamb was terrible. Our food did not come out together. And my spouse had to wait forever to get his food. The appetizers were great. Drinks were good. Waiter was fabulous. Loved where we were sitting. Loved the restaurant but the food was terrible.
Steak was great, all the food was fresh, and you could tell it wasn't frozen or from a can. It was a little too noisy for my taste, but that seems to be the rule everywhere now. It's definitely worth a visit!
While pricey, the food was good and well-prepared. Restaurant was clean and other guests were well spaced for a quieter than normal dinner. Server was good but a bit slow occasionally but attentive to our needs.
Great place for special occasion such as birthday. Good selection of food and reasonable pricing.
Very nice, clean and great food. Our waitress was courteous and good at her job.
First rate, as always. Always dependable for any occasion, with solid menu and service.
I used to love CityRange, but the past few times I’ve been there the food has been unsatisfying. Too expensive of a restaurant to be disappointing. The service was great, but they need new cooks. 5 years ago they were on point.
They had a large party (the entire Wofford team and coaches) when we arrived. We thought we would get poor service, but that wasn't the case at all. Everything was excellent and we were well taken care of. We chose to visit for Restaurant week and it was wonderful.
We took advantage of the special menu for restaurant week and it so good. The waiter was attentive and took our special requests without any problem.
Absolutely fantastic! Treat yourself and have a meal here. You won't regret it.
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent atmosphere.
I’ve gone here for my birthday dinner ever since I was 10 (I’m 21 now), but the food just isn’t as good as it used to be. My bourbon pecan chicken tasted like rubber, so I didn’t even eat it. Sadly I’ll be choosing a different place for my birthdays from now on.
The food was excellent, but our waiter could have been a little more professional for a high class restaurant. Also, there was a party in the back and the door was left open so we could hear the occasional outburst and music from the party that interrupted our quiet dinner. The décor and fireplace were well done and the booths were comfortable.
We have been here twice. Both times the food was very good. It is very cozy and great ambiance.
Went there for twin sons' 25th birthday, packed in like sardines with large Christmas parties surrounded.
In my opinion, way over priced for the food quality and service. Had to send 2 of 3 steaks back to re-cook, way too rare...was served on plastic tables added for the larger than usual season crowd. I may consider a return at lunch, never in the evening. Have frequented the City Range in Greenville, SC several times in the past was hoping for the wonderful experience without the drive through all the construction. Slightly disappointed and my wallet hurts. I don't mind paying for over the top food and service, expectations just not met.
Food was excellent prepared and very tender. We had the filet mignon and lamb
