The food was great.
The food and service here is always excellent. A great place to go. Not cheap, but not really expensive.
Booked reservation for my husbands birthday. Even specified through open table when booking reservation. Never once was it mentioned, okay no big deal. Even told the server it was his birthday, she seemed far from interested. Food was decent. Could tell mashed potatoes had probably been sitting all day.. When we were done, the server just brought us the check and never even offered dessert KNOWING it was my husbands birthday! To be honest at that point we likely would have passed but it’s the point of making the dining experience enjoyable. It was slow and she was probably finished for the evening and ready to go home. Even if we had wanted dessert, would she have been happy to serve it? Probably not... When you go somewhere and the food is extremely mediocre, good service could make up for it. If both the service and food is mediocre, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth and makes you not want to return. I don’t believe either of us will be ready to try city range again anytime soon. I’m not one to write reviews. But with it being my husbands birthday and me making that known multiple times, I would’ve appreciated a better experience for that alone. Whatever big party was going on in the back room seemed to be more or a priority to everyone in the restaurant.
Our server, Scott, was great and had a wonderful sense of humor. Our group had a variety of food orders which was coordinated well, was served at the same time and was hot when it arrived at our table. Could not have been more pleased with every aspect of this special gathering of friends. Looking forward to future occasions at City Range.
My food was amazing! The other people who was with me food was not cooked all the way. Our server was not very tentative and kept walking the by the table as if we were not their at all.
Service was outstanding and food was as good as we remembered prior to covid-19 outbreak
One of the top notch restaurants in the Greenville area without having to go down town
Many parties were there celebrating graduations and service didn’t suffer any
Would return in a heartbeat
Server was outstanding
It was our first time there. I was expecting a little more ambiance. The good range broke that day they could not cook steaks. I was disappointed because I was told they called people with restrictions and I was never notified. I will say that the food we ordered was delicious that the waitstaff was excellent.
We had reservations and received a courtesy call to inform us that they had equipment issues and would not have any grilled steak options that evening. Fortunately we were going for prime rib and that was available. It was delicious. The service was super. Great place to dine.
Great food and atmosphere!
Food and service were great!
We loved the inside aesthetic. This was a perfect date night spot. We enjoyed our food. We enjoyed our waiter. It was all around an awesome experience for my wife and I.
I love this restaurant, but I miss the intimate atmosphere it used to have before they remodeled. The food is always good and the service is great!
Haven’t been here in a while the food was still great service was excellent scenery was was Five starwill be returning to this restaurant got a love it
Went for Mother's Day dinner. Was good that there was an outdoor patio which is where we sat. Decor was so-so. Service started out slow but got better after appetizer. My wife and kids enjoyed their meals and my scallops were very tender. Overall, a decent restaurant but not a top choice.
Had reservations... actually got my table early. Waitress was nice. Food was ok definitely not what I was expecting and not hot enough for me.
An excellent Mother’s Day dinner. The steaks were exceptional and I don’t usually like skins in my mashed potatoes, but these were very good. All-in-all a really nice dining experience. Thank you City Range.
Mother’s Day brunch menu was very scaled down to the point that I could not find anything on the menu that met my dietary need. We have eaten there many times and the menu was one of the reasons my husband chose this restaurant for Mother’s Day. I had to request the chef to make a cheese omelet for me. Which turned out to be scrambled eggs with cheese. The taste was good but nothing special for a special day. Options did not include Eggs Benedict, waffles, or pancakes. Oh well. Maybe someday our service standards will return post pandemic.
We’ve been coming here for years and are generally very happy with CityRange. Overall a good balance between price and quality. A very good value if you’re taking the whole family out to a “nice dinner.”
I meet my parents here often, they are coming from Georgia and I live in Charlotte. The service and food is exceptional every time! I can always count on City Range for a great dining experience every time.
Excellent service and food. Atmosphere was very good.
Casual enough that we felt comfortable with kids but upscale enough for a special occasion. Food and service were great!
Always good food and a great atmosphere! Service was on point!
We seem to have been singled out to be offered a “mask” as we entered as we watched others behind us both get the same treatment. On to dinner I ordered a ribeye & it was average at best, my wife in the other hand ordered a fillet (medium) & it came out very thin & very fiberous looking. It was smoothered in some red wine mushroom sauce??? That threw me off immediately because you don’t usually hide the best cut of meat with sauce. She started to eat it & said she thought they have her sirloin. She flagged our waitress down & explained it to her & she said “we don’t sell sirloin”, I replied you might not sell it, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t serving it tonight. I have eaten at the top 10 steakhouses in America, many times & love steak. This was honestly the worst $100 steak dinner I ever been a part of in my adult life, Western sizzler served better steaks than this. Probably be out last visit to city range.
Fantastic food and great service. My steak is always cooked to perfection at City Range. Was really busy and our order was still timely.
Food and service was excellent. Thanks again for a great meal, although no one acknowledged that it was a birthday celebration. We checked “birthday” on the reservation form.
Service good, food mediocre at best.
Will not go back.
Always a great place for dinner or lunch. Very nice ambiance, service is good and so is the food.
They do a great job with groups as well. I've been several times for bookclub and girls night out.
We had dinner with friends at City Range on Friday evening. The other couple: he ordered the Black she ordered Petite Crab Cakes. They both thought the crab cakes were too mushy/squishy (not fried as they are normally at other restaurants) and wouldn't order them again. My hubby ordered the Shrimp I ordered the Crab Cakes with asparagus and subbed broccoli. I have to admit, the crab cakes are quite mushy and not crisp as normally served at other restaurants, but they are tasty. Will definitely return and will order different entrees.
Food and service were good.
I had my teen daughter with me and the waitress, Jennifer seemed annoyed when I asked her about mocktails. She stated that I would just be better off getting the alcohol because I would have to pay full price. It saddened me that she wasn’t willing to speak with the bartender to make my daughter feel just as fancy with a froufrou drink. It was almost like we were a waste of her time. It was my first and probably last time there.
Delicious food and nice atmosphere. Nice patio for outside dining and large indoor dining room with huge fireplace in the center. Very nice menu. I’ll be back.
Before the pandemic, w ate here a couple of times each month. Pretty much like we had experienced in the past. Good food. Excellent service. My wife’s grilled chicken club was served on toast, piled too ugh to bite into it, bread on bottom was wet and soggy . Previously was served on Kaiser lRoll and without all the lettuce and tomato, etc. which Made this one hard to eat. We’ll do better with our ordering next time.
Our meals were delivered to our table hot and very tasty. Love their salmon and my husband said his beef tips were excellent.
Service was great had the rib eye very tough lots of fat, outside dining area was very nice!
As always good food good atmosphere! I'll always come here
It was a great place good food and service. Great for a date
Enjoyable lunch for two. House salad and Chili both flavorful. Grilled chicken club sandwich and open faced tuna melt were excellent. Good service, pleasant ambiance, reliably good food, locally owned. Return regularly.
I expected much more. We were here for our first time on Easter Sunday. I felt more like I was at a fast food restaurant. Although the waitress was attentive, we ordered our drinks which came out quickly with bread. Placed our order for dinner and before we had a couple of sips,, soup and salad was placed before us. Not only that, we barely started eating this when our dinners appeared.
I had the lamb, which tasted like it has been sitting in a warning tray for hours. Overcooked and half of it had so much fat and grizzle that I couldn’t eat. The whole carrots looked beautiful but definitely undercooked and shriveled.
Another had the ham which tasted good, but side dishes were more cold than warm.
For a nice relaxing Easter dinner, we were out within 40 minutes, from the moment we walked in, until the time we reached our vehicle.
I selected this placed because of the reviews. Unfortunately because of the experience, I’ll not be going back. Undoubtedly a nice diner other than steak must not be your cup of tea
