A little disappointed in the fact that City Range is the only restaurant I know of that WILL NOT toss their caesar salad in the caesar dressing. I personally do not like a dry salad and they control all the elements of the service. Why they will not toss this remains a mystery to me.
As always, we had an excellent meal with excellent service.
Great service but food was sub par. Would recommend many other places to get a steak from besides here.
The steaks were awesome. Planning on taking our son there for his birthday
Another good lunch experience. Had avoided for awhile due to repetitive menu. New seasonal menu today had appealing choices. A salad with blackened salmon was excellent and several sandwiches looked appealing in addition to regular menu items. Will return regularly.
I had the filet medallions with the lump crab cakes and a Caesar salad both were very good. The atmosphere was really nice. Not loud like so many restaurants. Service was very good as well. We will be back.
Great local steak house was perfect for our low key anniversary dinner. The service is top notch.
Great Steaks! Great Service!
1st time eating there…. Menu selection was very good and flavor was about middle of the road…. Once order was placed they pounded out the food, appetizer, then 2 min the salad, then less than 5 min the food, clearly the food was already prepared and in an alto-sham…. Disappointed in that, food was just warm… server was below avg, she had zero personality and probably had worked all day and just didn’t GAF….. will be hard to go back….
City Range is the ‘go to’ for the perfect filet, mine was amazing. My husband decided on the prime rib, but said he should have ordered the filet. The prime rib looked delicious, but was more on the ‘chewy’ side not tender.
Hubby and I enjoyed a light dinner at City Range on Friday evening. He ordered a Burger (med. rare; no cheese) and coleslaw and I ordered the Ranchero Salad with Blackened Chicken (it's a lunch special). Both entrees were delicious. I really wish City Range would add the Ranchero Salad to the dinner menu. It is quite delicious with its Avocado Lime Dressing and whatever protein you decide to add. A very nice light dinner. Service, as usual, was very good.
I have dined at City Range several times over the years and found the food and service quality excellent, and would rank it among the best steaks I've ever eaten. However, our last visit was not even close to what we have come to love about the restaurant. With a 5:00 weekday visit, we ordered our usual filet mignon and a ribeye. The first clue that something was amiss was the bread, as it was supposedly just out of the oven, but both the bread and melted garlic butter were lukewarm--not the hot, fresh taste that has been our previous experience. The rib-eye steak was overcooked, which I was ok with, but it was served at room temperature--not even warm enough to melt the compound butter on top. The same was true of my wife's filet mignon, and for the two sides each of us ordered. We had noticed that only about a dozen patrons were there at the time, so it was surprising the food would have not been served immediately after leaving the grill. We are not patrons who complain as our first thought is perhaps there is a rational reason. However, at the prices charged for the meal ($100 not including tip), after reflecting more about the experience, we thought it might be helpful to others.
We were able to get reservations last minute with no problems. Our service was excellent. The food was very good. No complaints at all. We will be back
Excellent menu choices. Beautiful interior with gas fireplace during cool season. Vary accommodating on menu options
It was so great, food and service amazing!
A friend and I had lunch on the patio at City Range yesterday. The Chardonnay was cold and refreshing and the salads were crisp and refreshing. We both ordered the Ranchero Salad with Blackened Chicken - delish! The chicken was tasty and perfectly cooked (not dry) and the Lime Avocado Dressing is an excellent choice for the Southwest flavors. So happy to learn that I can order this salad (a lunch special) for dinner - yea!! Sometimes, all I want is a light, refreshing salad (with a protein) for dinner. Service was excellent and the patio was shady and comfortable.
Great food-great service. Our go to place for special events.
Disappointing in the table we were given. Booths were available but we were denied- all were reserved even though we had reservations! When we left - half of the booths were still available!
In my opinion the food was overpriced for the quality we received. We chose this restaurant because it had a kids menu. With all the options in Greenville we likely won’t be back.
Enjoyed a date night with my husband. Our waitress Chelsea was very fast, courteous and helpful. Overall had a wonderful meal and experience.
Amber did a marvelous job of serving us, and the lunch exceeded expectations
Once again, for three ladies having dinner, served by SYXX , everything was perfect !
We each had the filet, along with the Whiplash wine.. Delicious !
Thank you City Range, Syxx, and Josh for taking such good care of us again!
We'll see you soon !
joyce and friends
As always the food was delicious and the service was excellent. Our waitress even moved us to a different table because she overheard my husband saying he doesn’t like sitting in the back room. The steaks were so good and the chocolate lava cake was worth the extra time it takes to cook it fresh.
Great food and service. Will definitely be back
Food was fantastic! We really enjoyed it! The staff were very professional & nice!
I took my grandson to dine here. He is an extremely picky eater and our server could not have been more gracious and patient. I hadn’t eaten here in many years since I moved to Asheville; however, the food was as delicious as I remembered. Yum! Verbal, it was a lovely dining experience.
Sons 20th Birthday
Milton was a great server, good attitude and attention without being too much
Crab cakes were fantastic. Shrimp and grits were excellent. Prime rib was tasty, but tough. Service attentive. We would definitely return.
Great service !!!
Ribeye steak was outstanding!
It had been a while since we dined at City Range. It used to be the best steak for the money in the Upstate. However, at $45 for a ribeye, that value has diminished. Still a very solid meal, but you can no longer think of City Range as a great value.
Always a great meal. Good food; good service. And, a great patio.
It was just ok. If I lived in in South Carolina I would not go back. Much better steakhouses in Texas
We had a wonderful experience. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. The food was all cooked perfectly and was so delicious!
This used to be a really great place. Prime rib was tasteless, chewy and almost inedible.......terrible................ and salmon was charred/burned. Father's Day menu limited which is to be expected but the regular menu is no longer intriguing......just ho hum....no specific gluten free options as there used to be. What happened to the bacon/chicken bites? People used to love those. For a steak place this was so disappointing.
Went for Father’s Day dinner. Food was awesome. As was service.
Four people, father’s day brunch. Two ordered the brunch burger with french fries. The fries were fa, like thin sliced. Didn’t live them. Burger was good. Daughter got maple glazed chicken. It was a little over the tp in the sweetness. A little goes a long way on an entree. She couldn’t eat it. Waitress charged full price and we told her the dog will love it. Meh…Son got the pork loin and said it was great. Appetizer was the corn cheese dip with tortillas. Again, it was good. The beignets as appetizers sound good, but were small. Very small…All together an average meal, and with top I spent $100.00 exactly. I dont love CR because they typically fall short somewhere every time. But its okay. And the noise level was out of control. Please try to do something
We had the prime rib dinner!. It was cooked to perfection and had plenty to take home. The shrimp cocktail and crab bisque was very tasty. One can always count on a wonderful experience when eating at City Range.
