View Private Dining DetailsService was very spotty and slow. We felt as if we were forgotten and was waiting for the server for 20 min. before we were tended to....
The reservation was for 11:30am. We arrived on time however there was no staff at the desk when we arrived. We waited 15 minutes and seated ourselves. Other people were arriving too and had no direction where to go for their reservations. Finally someone complained and restaurant staff suddenly appeared. The meal was good. But the arrival check in process needs work
Always my go to place for business meetings where conversation is easy and there are few distractions. Service is personal and not intrusive.
Always a good lunchtime choice in lower Rosslyn. Have never had a bad experience there. Menu is a bot limited at lunch, but you can easily find something you will enjoy. Service at lunch is very good, and it is usually not real crowded. Highly recommend!
Crab soup (very delicious)
Seafood Linguine (very good)
Chocolate peanut pie (very yummy)
PG glass of wine. Love sparking water with sliced lime.
Excellent service Mehmet and Mohammed were incredible!
Excellent salmon/avocado open-faced sandwich. Attentive servers, attractive setting. Nice place for a quiet lunch.
Outstanding food/menu and wonderful service! Hidden gem in Rosslyn.
The menu choices were excellent for lunch, and reflected creativity. Yes, soups, salads, sandwiches — but they were unique, and reflected thought and caring execution.
Was most disappointed at be rushed to the end of the lunch period.
Condiments removed,
Then napkins were whisked away. And it wasn't even 2pm.
A great choice for business conversations with comfortable space between tables and low noise level. Serving staff is attentive and non-intrusive while being both friendly and readily available.
We arrived late for our reservation time, but were greeted graciously and seated promptly in an excellent table for our business discussion. Good food and service.
Recently renovated but menu underwhelming and over priced.
Despite the fact that only two tables were occupied, we couldn't find a hostess to seat is, took about 10 minutes to get a drink order in and the food was served like warm. Despite being a high price point, the food was similar to what you would expect from an Olive Garden- pizza, salad, standard fare entrees. It was awkward to have a conversation as we could clearly hear the only other group's conversation and they could hear ours. They even came over and told so at one point. Was the only reservation I could get the day of the inauguration. Now I understand why.
Lovely tall windows overlook the busy Arlington streets near Rosslyn metro. We enjoyed a delicious dinner of steaks and salad. Also enjoyed breakfast 2 mornings. (Hot and cold buffet, and items available off the menu.) Great service!
I had the bacon and pecan waffle. The menu said it was "stuffed" but reality was that they placed bacon and pecans on the bottom of the waffle maker and poured the batter on top. The waffle was overcooked, way to crunchy, but not burnt. The coffee was not that great, kinda weak in my opinion, but I know plenty of folks don't like it strong. The buffet was decent and the atmosphere was good for both business and pleasure. We went out of convenience which is the case with most business travelers, otherwise I can't say it is a dinner, breakfast destination.
Great business lunch spot. Watch out vegetarians for tofu entree containing fish sauce.
Not sure why this gets such a high rating but our server, Lifen, couldn't have been less attentive. She brought us water a long while after we asked and never came to get an order. I finally got up and walked over to her and asked if someone was making omelets with the buffet. She said, "You're having the buffet? Do you want coffee? It comes with it." I said yes and someone else brought us coffee a few minutes later. We never saw her again until she brought the check (and there were only four tables with people eating).
Except for the omelets, which were excellent, the buffet was average, nothing special. The melon was rock-hard and the sausage bland.
Definitely not worth the $50 price tag for breakfast.
The food is terrible. The buffet food was terrible. The eggs were dry. The waffels were dry and hard. It was very expensive at 20$ per person.
This place is good for a business lunch because it's very quiet. Lunch is reasonably priced. I ordered the salmon, however, and everything on my plate was way too salty--almost to the point of inedible. I gave the food three stars because the others at my table seemed pleased with the quality of their meals, but I wouldn't give my meal more than two.
Grilled sliced steak and veggies are very good!
Calm atmosphere with a good menu. Making reservations was simple. The location - just a block from the Rosslyn metro - makes it ideal for gathering with business colleagues.
Food is very good - service could be speedier - especially for those with tight timelines/meetings all day.
Never a bad meal or service issue in the years that I have been coming here. From the front side of the house to the chef in the rear they ensure that your special requests and experience is well taken care of. Hospitable and detail oriented, they go the extra mile to serve.
Valentine's Day experience was a very very lonely one. There was no more than 8 people on the entire restaurant. The food was good but that was overshadowed by the lack of dinner guests.
The flexibility of the menu is great -- for example, you can "built your own" salad or entrée with selections from various categories. The tables are well-spaced and it is quiet enough for easy conversation. It is very convenient to Metro (one block from the Rosslyn station). Both the food and the service are excellent. There is a wall of glass which makes the restaurant light and airy.
excellent environment for business lunch, dinner, and business conversation.
Food was decent but seemed expensive for basic American fare. The service was good. The restaurant was very quiet with few other dinner guests.
Service was very slow, food was cold and/or orders were mixed up and had to be sent back more than once. This is the first negative review I have written in over a year, so please take notice and ...do not dine here!

A good space for a business lunch spoiled by mediocre food, slow service and inaccurate orders
Our family group of four met for lunch on a Friday. The service was attentive, our order was served promptly and all requests (no bun on burger, etc.) were correct. The food was very good, and the price was reasonable. The venue has a view from the second floor, so no traffic view or noise. The noise level was minimal, so we were able to visit. I would certainly dine here again!
Cityhouse is a regular go-to for business dinners with colleagues who live in Virginia. The service and food are consistently excellent.
I have been here several times for lunch and never a bad meal. Service is always good and the food selections are varied and well prepared.
I had the Cobb salad and it was sizable with plenty of chicken and veggies.
My friend ordered the beet salad with salmon which he enjoyed.
Prices are reasonable and it is a good place for a nice sit down lunch in Rossyln.
Recommended for lunch.
Our server was very nice, but very inattentive, which was hard to understand given we were literally the only guests in the restaurant. It took 20 minutes for her to bring me an iced tea, and that was with a second request. One of our meals was under-prepared, and only lukewarm when it came out. Don't think we'll be going back there anytime soon.
I ordered for Bistro Streak, grilled asparagus, sparking water with sliced green lime, and red Merlot glass of wine. I loved them so much!
I ordered for Bistro Steak, grilled asparagus, Trio of Sorbet (raspberry), and glass of red Merlot wine. I ate all of them but they're delicious, yummy!
What I like best about this restaurant is the wall of windows overlooking Wilson Blvd. The windows and modern decor give it a swanky feel. I thought the food was fine. I had the chicken gnocchi, and the chicken was very tender and juicy, but there was quite a bit of prosciutto in the sauce, so it was too salty for my taste. The staff was very friendly.
Had a great business lunch at this restaurant. The service was good but it took a longer time than expected to receive the appetizer and entree.
Bistro steak, grilled veggie, and glass of wine (Merlot). I love them!
Cityhouse is perfect for a business lunch or gathering of folks who want to converse over lunch or dinner. The dining room's wall of windows lights the space well during the day, giving it an upbeat atmosphere. Tables are well-spaced, so conversation is easy even when it is busy. The food is of good quality and well-prepared; service is pleasant and professional. I'm often not a fan of hotel restaurants - this one is an exception.
I am sure it was just Arlington on a Sunday evening, but it was eerily quiet. The food was great and service was very good although the waiter more or less just ran in response to our requests as opposed to engaging us and selling us the amazing menu and food. He was fine. There was a private dining room off to the side and that had a party in it so perhaps on a quiet Sunday evening, they could put a small party in front of the window in the main room to make the room feel fuller? Quality and presentation of the food, which is why any of are there to begin with, was terrific!
