We had lunch at City Tab. The food was awesome; I would recommend the burger! Our waitress was very attentive and offered suggestions which proved helpful.
Hostesses and manager were very rude when we walked in. We tried to call several times to add a few more to our reservation but kept getting an answering machine to leave a message. When I told them that upon arriving, the hostess said that could not be true, and was very rude and dismissive, even when I pointed out I was calling them at that moment and she was not answering the phone. The only reason they are getting the good scores is because the server was amazing and fun, and the food was great. But we almost left because of how rude the first impression hostess was.
The food and beer were outstanding. Our service was slow and we had to flag down people to order new drinks and to clear our table. I would go again and hope the service was a fluke because the food and beer were really great.
Burger (medium rare) and fries were delicious and perfectly prepared. My friend enjoyed her shrimp and grits, I tasted them it was good but it's just not my thing. The rosemary spiced fries are to die for. I wanted more, but had to control myself from a double order. I'm sure we could have finished another order. :-)
Absolutely loved it. We went for Mother’s Day Dinner. The decor was warm and inviting. The burger was delicious! My family was thoroughly pleased. We will definitely go back.
Went for Saturday brunch and had an amazing experience. The sweet potato hash thing was so delicious and the rosemary french fries are to die for! Also, the Bloody Mary bar didn't hurt either ;) Our server was very attentive and it was a beautiful day to sit outside.
Had dinner with family visiting from out of town. Had twin 3 year olds. Great kids menu, very family friend. Food was decent. Good beer selection. The service got slow as the place got busy, so it took awhile to get and pay our check.
Great food. Corn dip and pimento cheese were wonderful and the mussels were really good. Beer selection is top notch... but don’t expect to get Miller/Bud/Etc like a few members of our party were because it wasn’t happening. All was fixed by the specialty cocktails though.
Food was very good, and the staff was friendly. I got the big chick sandwich (brunch menu) and it was done perfectly. The waitress wasn't very attentive, but she did provide decent service when she came to check on us.
Service and food was so good, made reservations for a second evening.
Fun pre-event dinner and drinks -- great atmosphere and ambiance, definitely a lively place with a fun happy hour!
Had a tasty and reasonably priced brunch with friends visiting from out of town this weekend. Restaurant music level was a little loud but they were playing a great playlist so we didn't mind too much. I had the fig and prosciutto pizza which was delicious! Would dine again - especially easily able to accommodate larger groups which is much appreciated.
This is a fabulous restaurant! Went here with our family of four. 2 adults and 2 kids ages 12 and 13. The place was packed and very noisy but fun and upbeat. Open style kitchen at the back, bar in the front. We sat near the kitchen. Ordered the pate/mousse, Cesar salad (massive), short rib tacos (came in 3), wings for appetizers. Just amazing. Food was excellent. Flights of beer was great too. Tons of beer options. Our server Miguel was great and made the best recommendations for us. Great time had by all
Overall a bad experience. We couldn't hear what our sever was saying. They brought us our food and my wife's wasn't the way she ordered it. I was almost done by the time she got her food. After our food was served we didn't see our server again and sat for 20 min after we were both done until I finally had to get the managers attention to get the check.
Our best dining experience during our family’s week in DC!
Good meal with great service. Has been a very reliable go to for us.
Good service. Average food - ribeye was cooked to order (medium-rare) but had no flavor. It was accompanied by a ketchup-based sauce that made it taste like something, but that something was ketchup. Frites (shoestring fries) were limp and greasy. Okay spot as a bar. For food, it was average.
Our server was nice, but it took way too long to get our drinks and for him to come back to our table every time. The food was really good though.
Our party enjoyed the tap house burger and a wood fired pizza. The burger was excellent, done exactly as requested. The fries are very good, crispy and perfectly salted. The pizza sauce is flavorful, a little sweet. The sausage on the pizza was excellent, with the right amount of spice. Th crust on the pizza has very little flavor.
Our server was attentive and efficient.
Delicious Brunch! Great service.
The server made all the difference with their knowledge of the beer offered and recognizing we were there for pre-game feeding.
Date night with my wife, food, drink selection, and service were all great!
Love the ambiance, the waitress was very undesirable however
Food was delicious and well-prepared. No problem with a custom order. Fantastic service. Convenient location if attending a convention at the Walter E Washington Convention Center or staying at the Marriott. Will definitely go again!
We had awesome service and a delicious meal. High points were the fried rice w short ribs, the delectable burger and the Mexican corn dip. Would not hesitate to return!
Ten Spiced wings are a must, sweet potato hash seemed like a small serving but perfectly poached eggs and sour dough toast made the meal very good
Met family and friends after having moved from the area two years ago. We had dinner on Tuesday evening and Brice was awesome! Then on Wednesday evening we met other family members and Todd was a great server to all 10 people in our party. Great food and a great atmosphere! We will be back!
Wonderful experience. Great food. Great beer. Excellent service. Even got a complimentary dessert from the chef because it was my sister’s birthday! Will for sure be back again.
The service was great and the food was good too! We had the daily special, chicken and waffles which was really good. We also enjoyed the corn dip appetizer.
City Tap House has a great beer list to chose from. The food is also good value for money with generous portion sizes.
Service was a bit slow.
Limited food menu but overall good restaurant.
Solid place to go for tourists with kids. We enjoyed a good lunch here. Typical bar/casual dining fare. Good clean restaurant
Kind of a tourist trap. We came after the lunch rush. The folks in the front, including our server, were already checking out. Decent menu and food but not great value for the $.
Fabulous food, friendly and quick service. Good beer and probably the best brussel sprouts I’ve ever had.
Great service. Very attentive.
Mike was fantastic!
I'm new to the DC Metro area and came into the city with my boyfriend for dinner on Saturday. City Tap House was definitely a great choice. The beer menu was extensive, the food was amazing and most notably the service was fantastic!
The food was okay. The beer list amazing. The server was a little surly. My wife asked if the bartender can make a cocktail. Instead of checking, he just said no.
I had the chicken and waffles and it was really good. The beer selections are a nice bonus. I would eat here again.
Excellent food and a great beer menu. Good location and in door ambient.
