City Kitchen - Alexandria
What is American food? We believe it has become a blend of traditional American dishes and those from around the world. Today, cities nationwide are immersed with regional and ethic foods... Our menu brings together traditional American and global cuisine with our own interpretation and personal touch.
Our decor is a reflection of American industry with iron, concrete, wood, and steal. Pops of leather, bronze and copper colors warm it up along with our modern 60" fireplace.
We love City Kitchen. The kids’ pizza is the best child’s meal in town. The only thing I would change is to add a few more vegetarian dishes to the regular menu.
First time visitor and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is a bit smaller than I had expected - I envisioned a space the size of Yard House. Nonetheless, the food was amazing! We had the artichokes and garlic knot appetizers and then port sandwich and sliders. All delicious!
Awesome Thanksgiving dinner. City Kitchen staff outdid itself. Turkey and all sides were great. You might not think of CK for holiday meal, but it was well done and reasonably priced. Huzzah!
Great atmosphere. Quick efficient service!
Good food for Thanksgiving, quick friendly, attentive service. Great experience.
Food is consistently delicious. Wait staff is very accommodating. Lucky to have such a nice restaurant nearby.
Excellent food and service!
Lots of choices. The food was fantastic! Definitely recommend.
Very average ,interesting menu but does not quite cluck
All entrées were great: salmon, pork chops, spare ribs and pizza. Server was very friendly. Would recommend for families or a date night.
The biscuits and gravy were served cold. It was taken care of quickly once we pointed it out to our server. Service was wonderful
Great server, food, and special was Beef Short ribs from Octoberfest menu. My husband just made a sandwich from leftovers today! Salmon perfectly cooked as requested. Plenty of attention & checking in to see how we were doing. Have now brought 4 new customers. All have really enjoyed!
We had such a great dinner at City Kitchen tonight. Courtney was our excellent server and she was fantastic. She had great recommendations and was such fun! The food was just amazing: chicken and biscuit sandwiches, crab cake sandwiches and best of all: the scallops and pork belly. Thanks to everyone, including the very kind hostess on our way out who helped us confirm our Open Table points.
Just hand major foo surgery so it’s a one legged world for me for 6-8 weeks. Have been here twice but never made a reservation through Open Table. My friend was available to get me to my doctor who is located nearby the restaurant. Everyone at Big Kitchen were so accommodating, offered great service and our salads were delicious! Added salmon to mine & my friend added chicken. Perfectly cooked, flavorful & generously portioned. So glad I turned another friend on to this terrific spot! 3 friends now go regularly!
Phil is a very good server and the food was excellent! I had the Tenderloin for the first time and it was awesome!
My friend & I and another who was sick yesterday brunch once a month. This was on our list and we were pleased with everything. I’m sure we’ll return do our absent friend can try this establishment...
Our first time at this restaurant . Service was excellent, food was good but not outstanding although the Gumbo was a standpoint . Presentation on the steak salad could be better .
Excellent food and service. Courtney was very professional and courteous. Thank you!
I have been looking for a brunch location that was convenient, had great food, and was under $25 per person for an entree and mimosa. City Kitchen nailed it! The random location in a HomeDepot strip mall makes parking a breeze. We had crab cake benny, breakfast bowl (oh the cheesey grits!), and chicken and waffles. Everything was perfect and in budget. One of the few restaurants I have felt compelled to write a reveiw for because it was so good and since it is off the beaten track I want to make sure it stays open.
This was the first time I have had dinner there after having been to brunch several times. Like brunch, dinner did not disappoint at all. The place was packed as well, so they clearly are doing something right.
We arrived for our reservation only to fjnd restaurant closed due to some utility issue
We love City Kitchen on Friday nights!
Always love City Kitchen! It's like going "home" for us. Food is always top-notch, no matter whether we are getting scallops or a hamburger...always perfectly done! Wait staff is always amazing, friendly, accommodating and efficient. What more can one ask for? As I said, we love City Kitchen!
Food and service are great. Ambiance takes a slight hit due the noise level from the industrial styling of the dining area.
Food is consistent but please change the menu. Same items since you opened - menu needs a reboot.
Service is good - but at times the servers get in weeds and there are longer waits for drink refills and checks.
Excellent food and service
City Kitchen is always a winner, great food, friendly staff and fun atmosphere
City Kitchen has an incredibly long beer menu and some pretty decent food to go with it. It's a great neighborhood restaurant/hangout, but not sure it's worth commuting to from beyond the 'hood.
We visited for Alexandria Restaurant Week and City Kitchen has a great deal for $35 for two people. We also happened to attend on 1/2 bottle of wine night which was a great addition to our meal. The food was good and filling but not spectacular (the vegetables on the rainbow trout entree were cold and the chicken breast had cheese that was melted). The staff is friendly and attentive. Overall liked the restaurant and will definitely come back for more their specials probably just to sit at the bar.
Our go-to local place for something special. Wait staff this evening was really friendly and helpful. Daily special was actually special! Looking forward to our next visit. Don't let the location fool you, this is a great place to eat, with easy and free parking, a bonus around here.
Very consistent, love daily specials, great service, great beer/wine list.
This was my 2nd time back at City Kitchen. I have not been disappointed yet. Wings w/dry rub were amazing and my monthly special 1/2 rack St. Louis ribs were tender and flavorful, and the mushroom risotto never disappoints!! Best of all, our server Harvey was attentive, super kind and sweet! The staff there are all great! Do yourself a favor and try City Kitchen. Make reservations as the weekend nears. They get crowded!
Was a little disappointed in the Muscles that I ordered.. They were very small compared to the previous times that I have ordered them at your restaurant. The corn on the cob was not premium quality either..
Very noisy. Food was good and reasonably priced. Ambiance is poor like eating in a warehouse.
Our waiter Tommy was outstanding! Loved the soup! Our overall experience was great and highly recommend it to others.
Wings are phenomenal, if you’d ask me get the hot dry rub(flats Ofcourse) with a side of the spicy Asian Chile sauce.. little spicy but really worth it. Philly cheesesteak is awesome too! 10/10
We love City Kitchen! The food is great. The regular menu is always good, and the specials are often spectacular.
Great service. I just wasn't in love with the food.
You can always count on getting a great meal and service.
Cute restaurant with some solid bar food and a great beer list. Dinner and brunch entrees aren't really anything spectacular. Service is usually decent here, but nothing out of the ordinary.
