City Kitchen - Alexandria
What is American food? We believe it has become a blend of traditional American dishes and those from around the world. Today, cities nationwide are immersed with regional and ethic foods... Our menu brings together traditional American and global cuisine with our own interpretation and personal touch.
Our decor is a reflection of American industry with iron, concrete, wood, and steal. Pops of leather, bronze and copper colors warm it up along with our modern 60" fireplace.
The food is always delicious! They had run out of my favorite dish (blueberry muffin French toast) but the 2nd option was delicious as well!
This was our 2nd time. The first time we had the Pizzas, this time we tried the sandwiches. The Houston Meatloaf sandwich was great, and so was the Savannah Chicken & biscuits.
The choice of beers and wines gave us a lot to pick from.
We had a fabulous dinner and it is so family friendly. Both kids one baby and one 4 year loved the food and they accommodated them well. The food was absolutely amazing!! We love this neighborhood place and come often.
Harvey, our Server, was attentive and helpful. Excellent service snd the food was delicious. My guest and I had the omelette and City Breakfast.
Service is exceptional and food is perfect - always have a great meal.
City Kitchen remains one of our favorite restaurants in Alexandria. We take all visitors there. Their brunch is our favorite.
Great atmosphere and decent food selection. Service was a bit slow.
Server was slow to greet and then never checked on us after we got our food. I had mussels and brussel sprouts which both were greasy. It was ok. But probably won’t go back.
We had a party of 6. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive. We will visit again.
Great food and the personnel there working there are fantastic
Too bad run out of Cheesecake
The Restaurant Week Menu was not only a good deal, the food was amazing. Add good service and great drinks you have a winning combo.
Very pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! Went there for a business lunch and appreciated great food, service and ambience without chaos and noise!
We enjoyed the Alexandria restaurant week, pre-fix menu. Thank you!
This is one of the few places we can always agree on
I real treasure, nearby. I had the amazing scallop and pork belly dish, each bite was heaven. Great beer menu
New years day brunch. I am always surprised at the menu selection, staff friendliness and attention, and really good food! It is definitely worth s try!
My wife and I have tried lots of different things on the menu and have never been disappointed.
My wife and I have a list of 100+ restaurants we visit regularly in the area. This will become one of our regular “go to” restaurants.
Brunched here solo on New Year’s Day. No wait. Delicious waffle with bacon, mimosa, coffee, and good service, for a good price. The burgers and other items looked great, too, as did the beer and wine list. Had a cozy booth in front of the wall-fire despite only being able to book a high-top table. Families with fairly noisy small kids didn’t deter my enjoyment of the meal. :) Tucked away in a strip mall with plenty of parking and where you can also do your Home Depot shopping across the parking lot and also get your frshboita, hummus, and baklava purchased for later from the Mediterranean Bakery a couple doors down.
New Year’s Eve
Uniformly excellent service, food and drinks. Good for a new option, or a returning customer. Prices are reasonable for the high quality food and crafted drinks.
Great service and great food
Great place in surprising location.
We went for brunch. The eggs over easy we're cooked perfectly. Excellent sausage gravy.
Have been to this restaurant several times. When it first opened, I wasn't very thrilled with food and service. As it is in a great location, we did return several times. Each occasion was better than the previous. This last occasion was very good. The salmon dish was great and very substantial. My wife had a vey large portion salad entree which she could not come close to finishing. The 3 others in our party all liked their food very much. Recommend giving it a try...I will return again.
First time here I was blown awsy. 2nd and third times, food was so-so. Service is always great, however.
They have something for everyone. I personally like their monthly specials. Been there several times and never been disappointed. Great Service.
Great service at this local neighborhood gem. Artichoke appetizer was so good! Brisket special was good, not great. Pork chop entree is excellent but be aware that it comes topped with sauce.
Great waitress, great food, great experience!
Great place!
They didn’t have my reservation through open table. But, they were able to accommodate
Great first experience. Food was very good and the staff was very accommodating for what turned out to be my surprise birthday party. My only critical comment I had for my time there was that some food came out a tad cool (like it had been sitting there for a bit). Otherwise the place is great, food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly.
Enjoyed a weekend dinner at City Kitchen. Good variety in the menu, good service, and tasty food!
I’ve been visiting City Kitchen since it opened over a year ago. Their menu has a great variety without being overwhelming, and they have great deals on lunch.
I like all the restaurants in this group! Great welcoming atmosphere and very satisfying food.
We love city kitchen. Always a good experience. Pizzas are great
Really good food, very timely service. It’s close to home and a real regular spot for us. Never disappointed.
This was our first time here and the food was amazing! We’ll definitely be back!
Great food during restaurant week. Well worth a try, I’m going to go back and try the normal menu.
Wings were not hot...went for the restaurant week special and ordered items that we could get off of the regular menu since they should have better experience cooking those items. It was a hit or miss-fried artichokes, trout, pork chop (although slightly too pink and only warm), and truffle mash potatoes were delicious. Most of the asparagus were great too (there were a few with grainy/woody stalks). The lemon risotto was undercooked (hard) and mushy. The baked apple crumble was good but would have liked it cooked longer (the topping was too wet/pasty for me-the boys loved the raw brown sugar oats). We will try the restaurant again with some of the regular menu items. Also provide a dessert without nuts.
Friendly Service. Great Restaurant Week Menu. Great Value. My entire family loves it.
