Exposed brick walls and heart pine plank floor augment the candle light and white linen staging some the most inventive and interesting food in the South. Chef JD has put together a five course dinner menu while Jennifer worked with International Wines representative Jonathan, as well as Dave of Vine on the perfect wine pairings. Price per person includes dinner and wine pairings. Other beverages, tax and gratuity are separate. You will not be charged via OpenTable. The credit card is to hold your spot for dinner.     Heard about it through friends and definitely wanted to try during my first trip to Oxford. The dining room is reminiscent of the French Quarter with French doors opening onto the historic square. It’s dimly lit with stained glass lighting and a skylight in what appears to be a butler’s pantry. The music was great consisting mainly of classic rock with a little bit of ABBA too. Service was prompt, courteous, and attentive. The field pea soup was likely the best dish of the evening with intriguing bits of crispy ham here & there. This was followed by pork cheek ragu with sweet tea custard for dessert, which had an undeniable butterscotch taste. 4 stars across the board.

    We all loved our meals…. Roast beef debris po-boy was fantastic!!!! Muffuletta and pork burnt ends sandwiches were fabulous and cheeseburger was also delicious! Can’t wait to go back.

    We made a reservation for a late lunch, yet we had to sit at the bar. I’ll admit I wasn’t happy about that. However, the food, service, atmosphere were superb!! We will be back soon.

    All was fabulous but the chef has a heavy salt hand. However, it was a new menu and definitely going back to try it again!

    We managed to luck into a late dinner reservation and wow! My husband got the shrimp and grits and it lived up to its reputation. My meal was equally as yummy as was our crawfish and onion appetizer. Our server was wonderful as was the rest of the staff. Looking forward to coming back!

    Wonderful lunch menu with allergy friendly options. Service was great! Their drinks were fantastic. We were a party of six so they can easily handle larger groups.

    Our second time at City Hrocery and it did not disappoint (except they were out of fried chicken). Professional friendly service in a lively atmosphere added to the overall experience.
