City Fish Market Ratings and Reviews
Friendly staff willing to please was 50th anniversary. Free desert for us, all great. On the other hand. Small portion for me. Friendly server but service unnatentive. Nobody paround to refill water. Had to ask to have bread crumbs cleared. Expect better from an upscale, expensive restaurant.
We have dined at City Fish Market many times. This time it was so loud that you could hardly
hear the person next to you (table of 4) speak. The food was fine, but since we last ate there
they raised the prices considerably, and in addition no longer include a salad, or sides, with
some of the mains. We went with friends who had only been there once before. We all decided
that there are too many other good restaurants in Boca where the prices are better, and the
noise level is much better. We will not be returning!!!
Very accommodating to my request for a table in a quieter area near a window. Food was outstanding. Only suggestion would be for the wait staff to provide the prices when giving the description of the daily specials. Mid-meal, a management representative came to the table to check our satisfaction and to wish us a pleasant evening. Wonderful atmosphere that makes even the most routine occasion a special one.
We have been coming here for years whenever we are in town. Service was lousy and although food was good, portions were very small and it’s pretty expensive. There are many other restaurants with equally as good food, same prices, but larger meals and far better service.
The hostess was very warm and welcoming so our experience was off to a good start. The lobster bisque was delicious although lacking the little chunks of lobster that I was craving. The lemon sole was very tasty. I was very pleasantly surprised as to how good the deserts were as in some restaurants the’re just an afterthought . Can’t wait to bring my friends to City Fish Market! Oh.... forgot to mention the hostess started us off with a complimentary smoked fish dip with chips and vegetables because we had such a long wait. The best I’ve ever had!
We always loved this restaurant when we lived in Boca, and made sure we went when visiting recently. Starting at front desk, the staff are great--same woman handling things there beautifully. Our waitress was excellent. Food perfect. We like to sit in a booth in the bar area. The only downside is the music--both live and canned. So loud it gave me a headache. Asked to have turned down a little, but never was. Oh well--still enjoyed our evening.
Excellent service by Jessica this evening. This is one of our favorite places in Boca. We started with the half shrimp half crab cocktail, which pairs our favorites! Dinners were crab cakes which are excellent and the salmon trout, which was a new taste. I would describe as all salmon. The ocean crust was light. The accompanying sweet potatoes were fabulous!
We have been to your restaurant many times. we have brought friends there as well. The past 2 times I was served bite size portions. Last time I did not complain, but this time I did. especially when other people who ordered that same item had a decent size portion. This last visit I was served the tail end of a piece of salmon that was perfect for a toddler! I advised my waiter, who mentioned the manager was going to come over. I waited for what seemed to be sometime and then mentioned it again, meanwhile "not eating" so the manager could see the portion. Finally, the waiter took my plate and brought it over to the mgr. The mgr came over and agreed with me, and stated that I should eat this size meal and he would request an additional portion. I was fine with this and tried to keep my inner spirit up and not bring down the night for my husband. I remained positive with the mgr who was trying his best to deal with a cook! My meal was no longer warm. My husband by now finished eating and sat there watching me. The mgr returned and told me the cook burned the requested portion and he requested it again. The mgr was very kind and pleasant, as was our waiter who both dealt with the circumstances. So now I was told to wait for another piece to be made. My husband sitting there watching this entire situation unfold. Never being offered even a cup of free coffee, dessert anything. It was my birthday, which at this point I was no longer in a celebrating state of mind. I finally got the portion, ate and we asked for our check. Keep in mind this was not a problem with the waiter or manager, it all began with my meal, and they tried to be as helpful with my situation as they could. I am sure the restaurant has rules to follow in regards to offering free coffee or dessert.
First let me say, the restaurant is beautiful and the service is truly excellent. So why can’t I give this restaurant a good review?
The food. It’s bland. Tasteless. No seasonings whatsoever, as far as we could tell.
As first I couldn’t understand how a restaurant that seems to have everything else figured out could have such bland food. Then we looked around at the other diners. All seemingly in their 80s or older. People who seemed very happy with what they were being served.
But no, not for me.
Love this place for happy hour or regular menu. I come here at least once a month. Food is always good. Came for the happy hour with my daughter and son. My children had shrimp cocktail and halibut and caesar salad. I had top neck baked clams and 3 orders of raw oysters, all of us enjoyed what we had.
