City Fish Market Ratings and Reviews
We stayed for a few days at the Hilton next door and walked over to the City Fish Market for dinner. It was amazing! The food was fresh and delicious and service excellent. It was a little expensive but it was so worth it due to the quality and preparation of the food. One of the best dining experiences I've had in South Florida.
We have eaten at City Fish Market many times. This was by far the worst experience I've had in this restaurant. The air conditioning wasn't working properly, so it was almost 80 degrees. The manager told us the air conditioning had been working at 50% for the past month and that they were waiting for a part. When I was called to confirm our reservation, the hostess never told us this, which "surprised" the manager. My husband's drink came with a hair in it. It was replaced, but he really didn't feel like drinking after that. When the valet brought our car, there was damage to the rear quarter panel. We didn't notice until the next day because my car is black and the valet area is very dark. Note: You are required to use the valet. The valet company, Eagle Parking Services, refused to take responsibility for the damage. Buckhead Group, which uses Eagle for all their valet services, also refused to help us. This is the last time we will ever eat at City Fish Market. And it's the last time we will patronize any Buckhead Group restaurant, as long as they use Eagle Parking Services for their valet.
Great food, great selection... scallops were cooked perfect.. highly recommend things cooked "Hong Kong" style. Were a little disappointed the waiter never mentioned the specials to us. We heard another waiter while we were ordering rattle them off and they sounded amazing...
Always ask for the specials.
Great food, but a bit loud. The Lobster Bisque is quite good, but everywhere I have ever had Lobster Bisque, they usually put a small amount of lobster meat on top. A small bowl was $10, and no lobster. Also, only some of the tables have tablecloths. The tables with no tablecloths look beaten to death.
they ran out of a number of items and we were seated at 7 pm.
The manager came to our table and was totally lackluster and embarassed himself and the restaurant with his handling of the situation. He eventually did the right thing but it took too much conversation and time.
We were taken to our table right away. Our waiter was very conscientious and answered our many questions. You can see the various fish and seafood in the cases up front. The salmon was very fresh.
We ordered and my Mahi-Mahi was tasty, but I got about 1/3 of a sweet potato. My son's pork chop was a bit too charred on the outside. The rest was exactly as described, but did not wow the family. We were still a bit hungry. Maybe next time.
I made our reservations for being seated outside. I didn't know that was a problem until we got to the restaurant and were told that the "outside" was being renovated; my husband and I were not happy about that. We then requested a table in your "Bay Room", which I didn't know existed when I made the reservations, and didn't even know what "Bay Room" meant. The hostess explained it to us that the "Bay Room" was all reserved, and that we could sit inside.
We pursued the issue, since no one had given me prior notice that our seating request couldn't be granted. We were finally seated in the "Bay Room", and had a very good, nice waiter. However, as my husband went to sit down, we noticed something that looked "sticky" on the inside of the back of his chair. He brought it to the attention of the young lady who was seating us; but, she suggested that it was scrapped, as she proceeded to clean it with her "bare" finger. I was surprised that she would try to clean something without using a cloth; not even knowing what it was. Well...she didn't seem too concerned about it, and she left our table.
We ordered our drinks and shrimp cocktail. One of my husband's shrimp had something on the whole inside of it that was black and disgusting; one of my shrimp was partially like that. We told our waiter about it, and he kindly took them away and brought two more for us. As we sat there, enjoying the view, my husband kept sticking to the chair. Our lobster dinner arrived, and it was good, with the exception of the mashed sweet potatoes. They were burnt; my husband ate his, because he didn't want to complain; however, I did not want to eat burnt food. Our, excellent, waiter asked me if I'd prefer a baked potato, and he brought that to me; it was fine.
We finally told the Manager about our concerns; he was helpful, giving us 10% off our bill, which was over $240; but, it should have been more than just 10%. We are not sure if we will go back to City Fish Market.
We go all the time. Like always Jessica was great! This was the one time we happened to sit next to a table with 8 people and 4 were under 7. Screaming the whole dinner. Throwing food all over and using the water to bathe their toys. We felt so terrible for the server. Parents did not say one word to stop the kids. They left before we did and the mess they left was outrageous. Next time I will sit in the bar!!!
Ordered the Stuffed Flounder and the waitress came back almost 30 minutes after the order was placed to let me know they are out of Flounder. Since it was now close to closing I had to place a rushed order for the Pecan Crusted Salmon and it was extremely oily and had no taste. I have came here a few times for happy hour, which was great, but the entree this night was definitely disappointing.
