City Fire, American Oven & Bar Ratings and Reviews
We had a family group of ten including two children. They were ready for us when we arrived and the service throughout dinner was outstanding. The food and libations were excellent and everyone had a wonderful time. We will deffinitely be back and we will recommend City Fire to all.
Food was good. Menu had some unique items. Really enjoyed our dinner. Drinks a little weak. Service pretty good but forgot one drink and dinners came out at different times. Staff all very pleasant and nice.
A bit more upscale than most Villages resturants but not fancy. Live entertainment and dancing.
I've visited City Fire 3 times now. Each time is a lovely new experience. This time we went during a tropical all-day/all-evening rain deluge. We sat in a cozy corner by the bar, watching the rain through the windows, and people rushing by with umbrellas. The food was delicious; ambience was cozy and warm; and the server very attentive. A wonderful memory of comfort food on a cool, wet night!
We had what will certainly be our first visit to City Fire. It's perfect for last-minute dinner out at a reasonable price, especially when you don't want to get dressed up and plan ahead! We very much enjoyed the excellent flat bread and the fine service. The atmosphere is relaxed and the lighting is excellent. We will definitely return.
This was the first time visiting this restaurant and it was a great choice. Each of the menu items we had were tasty. We had the tuna poke and chicken tidbits as the appetizer. The entres (spare ribs and talapia) were equally as good. The chocolate bread pudding was chocolately awesomeness. I would recommend eating there and we will be visiting again soon to try out other tasty sounding menu items.
We went in for the Magical Dinning and had a wonderful time! The decor is beautiful, the oven massive, food amazing and staff friendly. A mixture of relaxed and refined this is a place you can come in jeans or dressed for a night on the town and be at home either way.
We ordered the chicle tidbits, 4 pieces per order of grilled spicy chicken, and the ahi tuna appetizer. Tuna was AMAZING! The chicken was tasty. Entree- both had the filet of beef. Juicy, tender, sweet, delish! Came with spinach and mushroom cap, would have liked a bit of potato, but was lovely. Dessert was chocolate bread pudding, get this! It was simply wonderful. The Creme Brule berry cheesecake was good as well, not too sweet but the bread pudding was divine!
City Fire, owned by the same group that brought us Pebbles, Harvey's and Manuels 28 have brought back the best of the best: Chicken Thumbits, Chicken Vesuvio and the Nutty Cheesy Salad. If you are looking for some Orlando classics, this is the place. The restaurant is beautiful with an open kitchen and cozy dark woods.
We went for the "Magical Dining Month" promotion, but once we got there, the $12.99 Monday night prime rib special could not be ignored and I'm not talking 6oz, it was a slab, seasoned to perfection and cooked to the medium rare that was ordered We also went because we missed Pebbles. So we couldn't pass up the Nutty Cheese Salad with zucchini dressing, memories....perfect. What can I say, we're returning for more next Monday.
Food was great. Our table was too close to the kitchen, which made for a noisy dining experience and we kept smelling propane gas. We didn't know if this was from the ovens or the decorative gas lanterns that were near us. Our waitress was a flake. Our entrees came before our salad and she refilled our water glass with iced tea. We did not complain but the manager somehow was aware of this and he came over to our table to apologize and tell us that they would not charge us for the salads. I thought that was nice that he was on top of things. We would go back for the food, pork shank was amazing but sit further from the kitchen and hope for a better server.
Those expecting Pebbles redoux may be disappointed. City Fire's menu is not nearly as extensive as Pebbles. The restaurant itself was dark and noisy, whereas Pebbles had an open, colorful and islandy vibe. Food and service were good though, and prices were fair.
Other than the air conditioning not working properly, we had a great dinner. The room was a little smokey from the grill, and we did notice the same thing when we dined at City Fire before. The service was great, especially offering the separate checks. The food was really good and not such large portions....a plus.
It's all about consistency! This is becoming my neighborhood hangout. Tried the Chevre/Caviar Flatbread - just the right amount of everything & the Belvedere Dirtys are like I make at home - freshly hand stuffed olives & bits of ice flecks swirling in my frosty glass. Switched from table to Bar to watch the game. Will probably be back this weekend. Yummers!!
We had a group of 8 people for dinner and we dined in the semi private dining room which was great! We didn't have to shout and the music was the perfect volume, it was very intimate. Our waiter was great! Service at this place is first class. I loved it and highly recommend it. The pork shank is excellent and you definitely need to order the smores for dessert!
Everything we ate was wonderful. We thought the steak tartare was wonderful and certainly it was the best escargot I've tasted since being in Europe. The wine was very good and the service was great. Could not have asked for more. This was our 3rd visit there in the last couple of months and we will be back again soon. The staff made my sister's birthday even nicer.
The service and food were great. The prices were reasonable, especially the happy hour specials. We saw people we knew which gave City Fire that neighborhood feeling. We enjoyed having some of the food reminiscent of Pebbles. Our server was attentive and did not rush us. We were celebrating a birthday, and the experience was perfect.
