We were greeted and walked to our seat promptly but no one took the time to notice our ‘special occasion’/birthday. I was very disappointed by this as I selected both options in Open Table.

There was also water that was spilled on the floor and a woman fell right in front of us. A waiter helped her up and went right back to work as if nothing happened. My guest and I were stunned. We had to tell our waiter what happened who the cleaned up the water. Wouldn’t dine here again.

My family did enjoy the experience. The food, service, ambience and value were all good. The only problem was they tried to put us by the bar, then the kitchen. However, we were quickly put where we desired. We will return!

We were pretty disappointed since we had been at City Cellar before and had a great meal with good service. This night was different. Because it was Valentine's day they opened up the party room. It was pretty evident that there wasn't enough staff to cover the room. We were seated for 10 minutes before we had to call over a waiter to ask for water and menus (the hostess only gave us the specials menu, not the regular menu or wine menu). When we were given a bread basket the waiter placed it too close to the candle, and the paper in the basket when on fire. We mentioned it to the waiter but he wasn't too concerned.
The food was Ok, but I wouldn't recommend coming here on a special occasion night.

They took us and threw, what it looked like all parties of 2, into their overflow room or room for special events. Once we sat down we noticed that no one around us had any food except for the couple next to us who were complaining how bad the food was. No body had food or even drink on their table when we sat and the ambiance was soooooo quiet I felt awkward even talking to my wife because it felt like I was shouting. They had a pandora radio station playing so every like 3 or 4 songs was a lovely commercial playing. We sat long enough to look over the menu and notice one of the staff going almost table to table apologizing for something and offering free drinks. The whole room seemed like they were having such a terrible time we decided that this was going to be a terrible experience. It was so long since any staff even welcomed us that we were able to go on Opentable look up other restaurants near by and make a reservation with them. We got up and left our table and with out any staff noticing except for the regular “thanks for dining with us this evening” script said to us as we left even though the same hostess just sat us 10 minutes ago. Overall was a terrible experience and most likely won’t return.

We were so happy to see they set up a private room for couples on Valentines Day! The ambiance was so relaxing, our waiter was professional and attentive without rushing us at all. The food was amazing! Best dinner out we had in a long time! I wish they always kept that room for couples because the main dining room is always very noisy!
They went out of their way to ensure a great dining experience for us! We celebrated 24 years married and Valentines Day and enjoyed every minute!

Took my hubby for Valentine’s Day. He enjoyed it being his first time. The booths had room, cozy and comfortable for 4 adults that aren’t “skinny”...lol. We wasn’t rushed with having to eat...We had reservations so we didn’t have a long waiting time. Everyone was pleasant even when they got my order wrong, they gave me a credit for my meal. I would come again

My husband and I decided to celebrate Valentines Day a day early. We had the pasta special and it turned out to be a really good deal. The pasta dished were very good. Would

Food and ambiance is good, and they have a great wine selection. Only frustration was with check in. We had a 7:30pm reservation and arrived at 7:10pm. The hostess asked us to wait at the bar and said she'd come and get us, but then never did. We went back to her at 7:50pm and she brought us to a table in the bar area that had been open since we got there at 7:10pm! She then said she had come looking for us, but she hadn't, as we had been at the entrance to the bar and were watching them come in. Anyway, once we got seated the server was great, and we had a good time, but there's definitely need for improvement with hostess/seating ritual.

Was looking forward to a nice evening, reviews looked good however it did not turn out that way. Had reservation for 7pm was 10mins early waited nearly 20mins past our 7pm reservation, while we watched other couples come in and be seated with no reservations ok it happens but we could see many tables for 4 open. After seating waited another 15mins before our waiter arrived which we assumed was the bus boy because he poured our water and as he was walking away we asked if he could send over our waiter and he exclaimed he was the waiter, never introduced himself never even welcomed us while he was pouring the water, what did we know! Cocktails where good however waiter could not pour Martinis kept splashing onto table and clothing of the party members that ordered them. Appetizers where ok nothing that wowed any of the party. Dinner took nearly another 30mins after apps where finished to come out no waiter to be found to order more drinks while we waited. When the entrees finally did arrive 3 of the 4 meals came, two of us ordered the same steak entrees exactly, the fourth meal was finally brought to the table 15mins later after we had to ask the matradee waiter was nowhere to be found. Finally to top the evening off as a disastrous failure and waste of money as the waiter was serving us dessert and cappuccino another patron knocked into the waiter and the hot cappuccino went down the back and arm of one of our party. Waiter did really apologize seemed un-phased didn't really even assist cleaning up our party member or the floor and table and never replaced the cappuccino that was nearly empty after it was poured down the back of our party member. 3hour 30min dinner.

The Restaurant Week menu was varied, and the food portions were good sized, and delicious! Certainly the price was right. Our waiter did not try and push extras on us. He was very attentive to refilling water and bread basket, and checking to make sure the meal was perfect. It gets a bit noisy, as they do a good business there and there are large group celebrations.
We really enjoyed our dinner there on Sunday night.

My boyfriend and I went to City Cellar for a Saturday night date during Restaurant Week. We hadn't seen that the promotion wasn't available after 7PM on a Saturday night, but the manager came over and allowed us to use the prix fixe menu anyway -- good business. Everything was excellent, the wine list is extensive, the interior is really stunning and romantic. Would love to come here with a group. We will definitely be back!

Went for restaurant week reservation was half hour past the time frame. Manager Paul was extremely nice and extended it for us. He really was wonderful. Our waitress wasn't nearly as accommodating waited 20 minutes to order a drink then at the end of the meal she was bringing us a check before she brought us our desert!!
As far as the food salads were average. Main course of salmon was way to sweet and swimming in some orange puree that was awful. The b.f. ordered a flat iron steak and wondered where the rest of it was. Suffuce ti say he wasnt a happy camper. Good thing we got the restaurant week pricing . We wont be returning.

Restaurant week was a bust!
The restaurant only has the special menu till 7pm. What a misleading email that the restaurant sent out?! If there is a restriction then the email or restaurant should have said so, especially I put on comment for the restaurant week menu in Open Table. Many patrons asked for the restaurant week menu who sat down at the table after 7pm. I saw a couple spoke to the manager about the email. Then the couples got up & left. I would have left if my party was smaller. The NY city restaurant week is a lot better where the menu is offered the entire night! Disappointed how the restaurant treat the patrons in the restaurant week like early bird pre fix menu. The food is much improved since I was here several months ago, mainly not as salty. Service was ok although the server didn’t bring the spoon for the mussel pot. Overall I gave 3 stars for the restaurant week...mainly due to misleading email from the Restaurant!

Really enjoyed my meal which I had during Restaurant Week. The steak was excellent. Great value. I also enjoyed the ambience. The place is large with a feeling of grandness. Could be a little noisy for some.
