City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill - Westbury Ratings and Reviews
The floor manager I believe his name was Sam, he was very rude and not professional at all. I would never return because of how he treated us. He needs to learn customer service before he takes on a job like that. Absolutely not a good choice for an employee.
Our first time dining at this restaurant and it did not disappoint. We were seating right away at the time of our reservation. The server was fabulous from start to finish. We loved the look of the restaurant and the food was fabulous. We were a group of 8 and everyone loved their meals. Appetizers were great too. We all had cocktails that were delicious. We will definitely be visiting again.
We had good food, decent portions, and a very nice waiter. The place is pretty expensive for what is essentially a casual dining restaurant. Also it is incredibly noisy, and when we went the restaurant itself was not full, most of the people were at the bar. But again, the food is good, and the menu seasonal. The crab cakes are really good.
Not busy at all being that it was a Sunday, however the service was VERY slow. We wanted to take advantage of every visit from our waiter, not knowing when the next time we’d see him would be. That being said, he was very kind. The food was good, but no quality that I’ve experienced before. I would go back, but would want to see the place on a busy night. The restaurant is beautiful, so I can imagine that it could be a cool hangout spot. Would recommend to others, however stay away from Sunday nights.
Hamburger had no flavor. Cold upon arrival. That should really be a staple on the menu and it must be corrected. Caesar salad was good. Mac and cheese was good. Service was fast initially and then once the food came out (quickly) we basically needed to collect rain in order to fill our water glasses. Will not return.
The waiter put in the order incorrectly so my husband had to wait 15-20 minutes for his meal. The manager was nice enough to give us a free round of drinks but my drink was not the same as i had previously ordered. It was our friends birthday and they brought out a bowl of whipped cream with a candle! REALLY?
Went this past Saturday night with our best friends. Had a terrific meal. They did not rush us even though they were busy. We were there almost 3 hours. The drinks were great, red Zangria (spelled correctly) was the best I have ever had. Our server Alberto was fantastic. He was so much fun and personable. We will request his section in the future. Horseradish crusted filet mignon and shrimp/scallop entrees were delish :). We will be back.
Everything was great but if i had to say something negative it would be the manger passed by the table many times and didnt ask once how was everthing. My guest did mention it was maybe because it was half off wine Monday, so we got a $122 wine for half price. Bartender did roll her eyes as he walked by ,so maybe it wasn’t the wine price.
I have always loved this restaurant for the quality and taste of the food and great service. This visit was just as expected. The server was exceotional. From the moment we sat down, he was very attentive to our needs. He actually recommended dishes to us that we should try. We never had to ask for anything, he was right there. The food was delicious and just the right temperature. We never felt rushed. I highly recommend City Cellar.
Our lunch was delicious. Two of our party had the cranberry chicken salad on a croissant, another had the rigatoni bolognese and I had the turkey burger. We were all very happy with our food and the service was great. We are looking forward to another lunch or dinner at City Cellar soon!
We've dined at City Cellar many times and this visit were introduced to a new special prix fixe menu which I believe is only through October. The deal was for $20 you got a starter (great variety to choose from) and your entree (also good choices). The second person only pays $10 for the same thing. And if you add a glass of wine it's only $6 extra. I chose the hummus with flatbread (lovosh) crackers. The huge portion of hummus was a bit watery and bland but the crackers were buttery and crispy and they give you a big chunk of feta cheese. Overall it was good and once I refrigerated the leftovers, it became firm and tastier. For my entree, I chose the quinoa, beet, apricot, pistachio, feta and greens over grilled chicken. It came with a lemon vinaigrette that all blended very nicely together. Would get this again. Someone in our party ordered the mussels which comes in the traditional cast iron pot. They were not happy with the tomato sauce which really should have been more of a broth. The mussels were tender though and plenty of them. The steak frittes were also a good choice and the person in our party that ordered this dish said the flat iron steak was tender and tasty. We sat by the bar area in an oversized booth and they didn't rush us out. I would definitely go back and try this menu again.
Excellent service & food! Four of us went for lunch and we ordered the prix fixe lunch special- we shared the appetizers (Mediterranean Hummus and the Mixed Green salad)-both excellent and plentiful. The turkey burger I ordered was juicy and came with shoestring sweet potato fries-2 friends had the Cranberry Chicken Salad Sandwich and the other had the cheeseburger-all ample size portions and excellent as well. Our server was very attentive and the manager came by to see how we were. I definitely will go back again!
This is the last time I will go there! Used to love it but this is the second time in 2 weeks that service left a lot to be desired. It appears as if entire wait staff has been replaced and the new staff is just ill informed. They don’t know what comes with meals or the correct price. We went for lunch because of anniversary special - buy one get second half off - check came and charged full amount! Of course it got fixed but very basic mistake! They need to do better! We will go elsewhere.
Started poorly with the restaurant getting reservation number of diners incorrect. Long wait for waiter/menses. Poor service. Change of side by kitchen without notice. Long wait for food, like warm upon arrival. Difficult to get water refill. Steak 1/2” thick for $39.
