City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill - Westbury Ratings and Reviews
The waiter put in the order incorrectly so my husband had to wait 15-20 minutes for his meal. The manager was nice enough to give us a free round of drinks but my drink was not the same as i had previously ordered. It was our friends birthday and they brought out a bowl of whipped cream with a candle! REALLY?
Went this past Saturday night with our best friends. Had a terrific meal. They did not rush us even though they were busy. We were there almost 3 hours. The drinks were great, red Zangria (spelled correctly) was the best I have ever had. Our server Alberto was fantastic. He was so much fun and personable. We will request his section in the future. Horseradish crusted filet mignon and shrimp/scallop entrees were delish :). We will be back.
Everything was great but if i had to say something negative it would be the manger passed by the table many times and didnt ask once how was everthing. My guest did mention it was maybe because it was half off wine Monday, so we got a $122 wine for half price. Bartender did roll her eyes as he walked by ,so maybe it wasn’t the wine price.
I have always loved this restaurant for the quality and taste of the food and great service. This visit was just as expected. The server was exceotional. From the moment we sat down, he was very attentive to our needs. He actually recommended dishes to us that we should try. We never had to ask for anything, he was right there. The food was delicious and just the right temperature. We never felt rushed. I highly recommend City Cellar.
Our lunch was delicious. Two of our party had the cranberry chicken salad on a croissant, another had the rigatoni bolognese and I had the turkey burger. We were all very happy with our food and the service was great. We are looking forward to another lunch or dinner at City Cellar soon!
We've dined at City Cellar many times and this visit were introduced to a new special prix fixe menu which I believe is only through October. The deal was for $20 you got a starter (great variety to choose from) and your entree (also good choices). The second person only pays $10 for the same thing. And if you add a glass of wine it's only $6 extra. I chose the hummus with flatbread (lovosh) crackers. The huge portion of hummus was a bit watery and bland but the crackers were buttery and crispy and they give you a big chunk of feta cheese. Overall it was good and once I refrigerated the leftovers, it became firm and tastier. For my entree, I chose the quinoa, beet, apricot, pistachio, feta and greens over grilled chicken. It came with a lemon vinaigrette that all blended very nicely together. Would get this again. Someone in our party ordered the mussels which comes in the traditional cast iron pot. They were not happy with the tomato sauce which really should have been more of a broth. The mussels were tender though and plenty of them. The steak frittes were also a good choice and the person in our party that ordered this dish said the flat iron steak was tender and tasty. We sat by the bar area in an oversized booth and they didn't rush us out. I would definitely go back and try this menu again.
Excellent service & food! Four of us went for lunch and we ordered the prix fixe lunch special- we shared the appetizers (Mediterranean Hummus and the Mixed Green salad)-both excellent and plentiful. The turkey burger I ordered was juicy and came with shoestring sweet potato fries-2 friends had the Cranberry Chicken Salad Sandwich and the other had the cheeseburger-all ample size portions and excellent as well. Our server was very attentive and the manager came by to see how we were. I definitely will go back again!
This is the last time I will go there! Used to love it but this is the second time in 2 weeks that service left a lot to be desired. It appears as if entire wait staff has been replaced and the new staff is just ill informed. They don’t know what comes with meals or the correct price. We went for lunch because of anniversary special - buy one get second half off - check came and charged full amount! Of course it got fixed but very basic mistake! They need to do better! We will go elsewhere.
Started poorly with the restaurant getting reservation number of diners incorrect. Long wait for waiter/menses. Poor service. Change of side by kitchen without notice. Long wait for food, like warm upon arrival. Difficult to get water refill. Steak 1/2” thick for $39.
Reservation was for two people at 8pm. got there a bit early. they suggested we sit at the bar which we did. they forgot about us. wait staff was friendly, food was ok this night, desert was a cinnamon bun 'special', not that special. first time that I felt the place did not do a great job - we had been there several times before
We had a great time at City Cellar on Sunday. The serving staff paid excellent attention to our needs, checking in and refilling waters. The food was delicious 😋 everyone found something on the menu to their liking. I definitely recommend it for Sunday brunch!
My girlfriend suggested this place because of the $10 early dinner specials. $130 later we had a very nice dinner. The food was very good and the service was also very good. We were the only group sitting outside. There was some street noise but it was very nice and private and comfortable.
My girlfriend had the turkey burger, which was one of the $10 specials. Maybe she felt a little bit guilty. She also doesn't eat red meat. She said it was very good.
I had the duck breast ($28), which was excellent.
We also shared the burrata appetizer, and the flourless chocolate cake for dessert. They were both excellent.
I had the Malbec from the $10 menu and it was quite good with the duck. My girlfriend had a Tito's Vodka Martini (all drinks made w/ Tito's Vodka were also on the $10 list).
The $10 menu is a little bit misleading because there are no real entrees on it. The closest thing to a main course on that list is the turkey burger. Other items were things like mac&cheese, and there was a selection of meats and cheeses that were 2 for $10, and other side-dish sort of items. So, sure there are things for $10, but I wouldn't advise going there for that premise alone. It's more like you can order an entree from the regular menu and augment it with things from the $10 menu.
All in all, it was very nice!
Food was eh. Went at 5pm on a Thursday before a concert. Empty but picked up around 6. Ordered tuna tartare to start, very fresh and delicious. For dinner, split the smoked mozzerella flatbread and the burger. Flatbread was very salty and dry, needed some sort of balsamic glaze or spread on it. Burger was nothing to rave about. Drinks were good - chocolate martini and a whiskey with ginger beer.
We started at the bar then sat for dinner. Drinks were well prepared. Food was outstanding. Staff were friendly and courteous. Restaurant is centrally located, has ample parking and an outside location. Bar makes a spectacular presentation. Overall excellent experience.
City Cellar is always excellent, but being in the hands of our incredibly personable and attentive waiter, TJ, made my birthday dinner one to be remembered. I had been the only one of my party to have been to City Cellar previously, but TJ ensured that it is now a new favorite for the whole family. From the minute we sat down, to the little birthday cake drawn on my receipt, it was an amazing dinner. Thanks, TJ!
Every time I go there I am disappointed with the service. Our friends picked it to our dismay. The service was horrible! I told the manager and explained that tables that were seated after us had their orders and drinks before we did.
Forget about asking for olive oil for the bread or water refills.
