The food was great. The interior is top notch. The waiter seemed a little too busy to pay attention to my table which took away from our overall experience. But we enjoyed the food and loved the drinks. So we will return for another shot.
The food and the service were all amazing! John, our server, was excellent! The coconut margaritas were to die for but the glass was way too small for all that deliciousness(they should consider using margarita glasses). *Ask for less ice since the only option is on the rocks.
My only complaint is that it was freezing cold in there and I had stay wrapped up in my scarf.
We will definitely be returning!
The worst margaritas. I was told they didn’t have top shelf tequila. They were having trouble getting tequila. Therefore my margarita tasted like over sweeten juice. The food was delicious
So we get it and understand what is going on with COVID, but last night was by far the worst service we have ever received.
For a Friday night every table was booked and there was not one empty table in the place.
We were seated right away but our service and food was not what we expected for the price or the reviews that we had read prior to making our reservation. For a place that was booked solid there was only 1 bartender working, when we ordered drinks our and the ice was already melted by the time the drink came to the table.
To start I had the mussels and my BF had the Rock Shrimp, not to bad not complains theres.
Where I would say I was not impressed was our main course. I had ordered the scallop/Shrimp which was cold by the time it came to be and BF ordered the short rib, which was also cold, but it had no taste, as for the side which we ordered was cream of spinach which was sour. Our waitress did not come over to see how everything was, she was to engaged at the other tables to come check in with us. For 2 people a drink each an app and a main course $150 is alot. Listen I have no problem paying for food/service if it is worth it.
This place seems better for drinks and apps. Not for dinner
Very nice place... Good food great service and with everything going on the tables were socially distant. Would definitely go again!
This has always been my go to place for an upscale dining experience. Not aymore. Upon arrival the host attempted to seat us in the bar area, despite having reservations and ample and safely distanced tables available in the main dining area. We did not receive menus and he did not direct us to go online to check the menu. The dining area was a mess. many tables not cleared the entire time we were thee. There was papers and other debris on the floor and under the tables. Disgusting! We logged into the menu via Google and saw a price fixe menu. The waitress informed us it was not available despite the fact that it was only 5pm and the restaurants website clearly stated it was in effect. We usually arrive way past the pice fixe time so it is a non issue. Our drinks were ok, the Calamari appetizer was outstanding. the Ceasars salad, however, clearly not the quality it had been on previous visits. My girlfriend ordered the Bronzino which was slightly larger than a sardine and devoid of taste. I have brought and/or recommended this restaurant to many freinds and family. I liked it so much, the 30 minute ride was always worth it for me. No more. I will be forwarding this review to those same people to inform them not to waste their time
DO NOT EAT HERE
Me and my boyfriend came for the first time. We saw all the types of dishes they had and we were so excited to try. Our waiter Seth was the best, He walked us through the menu and gave us advice for drinks and dishes to have. He was very sweet and attentive to our needs and answered any questions we had. When you come in ask for Seth to be your waiter. We will definitely be coming back again, it was an amazing experience.
Staff was efficient and courteous, Our waiter was extremely good. Matre'D checked on our table and very quickly got us the creamed spinach we forgot to order. The creamed spinach good.
I had the chicken Milanese, which was kinda small for the money A frenched chicken Breast breaded and pan sauté. It was a little dark and over cooked it came with a Arugula salad the greens were very fresh dressing was a perfect compliment.
The short Ribs my friend had were fall off the bone good. The Menu said it came with fingerling potatoes it should have correctly stated finger ling potato as she only got one.
My guest had a Chocolate Martini and I had a glass of cabernet. My cabernet was what you would expect and her Martini was very good.
I would not go back as that for the Money there are much better restaurants on long Island. The experience was OK.
I would not recommend as that our meal was extremely inconsistent which is a shame as the service is so very very good.
Beautiful decor and delicious food choices 10/10 would recommend
Average. Fix your booths. They say us
Sat at the bartender who provided excellent service
Excellent service. Decadent delicious cuisines and beverages. Appetizers, main, desserts and beverages were all deelish!. Lovely ambiance.
It was beyond the best experience I’ve ever had! I had celebrated my birthday with my friends and the chef came out to greet us and everyone was very attentive to us. Will come back !
We love City Cellar and we’re excited for a nice night out, however , we were both shocked at how packed the restaurant was. Every table was taken with guests sitting and the tables were not far apart at all. Just something to consider based on your personal comfortability with eating out in restaurants right now. Food was great as always
Great selection of food. Great service. Only gripe is the wine per glass price. Expensive. Better off getting liquor drinks. Otherwise recommended!
New Years Day Brunch at City Cellar was fabulous! I enjoyed the Rock Shrimp appetizer, and the Wild Mushroom omelette. City Cellar never disappoints! Will return soon!
Excellent service and fantastic, creative dishes.
Please bring back the wedge salad!! We missed not having it New Years Eve.
Friendly service and great ambiance.
The food was excellent but the noise level was a bit high even with the society distance tables.
Excellent will definitely go back
Had a lunch date w/ my partner and the food was WONDERFUL, so delicious and our waiter was very friendly. Can’t wait to visit again.
Food, service and ambiance were all great.
Clients was very impressed
Always a great time. Food was very good!
great food. our server was awesome! there was enough social distancing and we felt very comfortable.
The food was phenomenal! We shared the spinach dip and I had the Swordfish special. It was cooked perfectly! Everything was great! The service was superb. Our waitress was sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. We really did have a great experience. The only thing I will say is that the drink prices were ASTRONOMICAL, for no reason. My seltzer was $4.25. I also enjoyed a tequila drink, and that was $17. I understand there should be a method to pricing liquor, but a soda for over $4 is more than most Manhattan restaurants. And to be quite fair, my Swordfish was $37. That was completely reasonable. It was really enjoyable and a nice sized portion. Personally I expected it to be higher. I’m really not the person to complain about pricing, I usually would find that tacky amongst reviews, but the only thing tackier than reviewing prices, is pricing sodas at $4.25. Even most cocktails aren’t that close to $17 for a highball in higher end places. It just didn’t make sense how the drinks versus the food pricing is calculated in a comparable way. I’ve enjoyed dinners around the world, some chefs tables in Michelin star restaurants as well. I know value when I see it. Just giving anyone a heads up who does research before dining. Other than that, truly a great experience!
Nice atmosphere great service. Felt very safe given Covid restrictions.
What can I say, total garbage!! We were seated, then ordered our drinks. Drinks were dropped off, then the server forgot about us for 30 mins! Mind you she had 2 other tables close to us, she attended to them and didn’t remember about us. My friend is vegan and when asked about vegan opinions she was like “yeah the chef isn’t going to do that but I’ll ask” come back saying chef said no” smh we had fries and drinks for brunch. We ordered food also but it’s too terrible to talk about. Never will I ever go back!
Very nice restaurant and very friendly staff. All C-19 followed. Very Good food.
City Cellar always a treat! John our waiter simply put was ‘amazing’. He was pleasant and attentive and fun.
Sat at a bar table and we LOVED the bartender who was our server! So personable and professional!
Food and drinks were great! Loved the pizza and the blackened shrimp tacos. Will definitely be back soon!.
We love City Cellar for Sunday brunch! The service, food and atmosphere are wonderful!
I wasn't impressed when I had to wait to find my waiter for a second around of drinks, then when she finally came advised us the bar is no longer in service.
Great food, wonderful service!
We decided to randomly try a new restaurant and our server Shantoya made the entire experience just amazingly flawless with her recommendations and exquisite service ! We will definitely be back soon!
Had brunch for the first time here and greatly enjoyed. Will return soon.
The restaurant was very good and the service was fine, but we got there at 8:30 and had to rush a bit at the end to meet the 10 p.m. curfew. We would have stayed much longer had we gotten there earlier or had the curfew not been in place. Will certainly be back.
