City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill - Westbury
We went on Sat during the start of Corona Quarantine, so it was quiet (6:30pm reservation) but there were still people there and it was filling up as we left. Food was great, pleasantly surprised. Will go back, hopefully during normal times!
Great food ! Waitress was great! Extremely affordable
Great !! Very good waiter and top notch food.
Wine and food was great
We were bugged by bugs! Flies swarmed our wine glasses. D sad pent most of the time swatting gnats.
Pork was overdone. Service was slow as it appeared the kitchen was even slower. May rethink this place.
Lovely brunch! Fabulous live music!
Food was great. Staff checking customers in need a little more training. Waitress was very nice, not very attentive but the job was done. Great ambiance, just needs a bit of fine tuning to be amazing.
Overall good experience, menu could be a little more specific to what you were getting
Waiter was excellent in knowledge and advice. Food very good but overall a bit overpriced.
Wine flight is excellent deal!
Wait staff slow and sloppy dressed. Long wait to be recognized after being seated. Manager(s) in attendance seemed unconcerned. Suggest dressing up wait staff so they do not look like they just came in off the street.
So noisy couldn’t talk to Person with meService pretty bad and food not that good my” “ omelette” didn’t taste like egg Bloody Mary was good but will have to find another place to eat when gong to movies. I would’t go back
We went for my brothers bday lunch - I work near the area so I decided to go there for a quick lunch. Took longer than expected but food was good and atmosphere was engaging
Dinner and waitress were great. I’ve been there once before and also had excellent service and food.
My experience at the bar 2/19/2020 for happy hour was not as expected. Bartender was arrogant not helpful with a put off attitude. He was annoyed that I needed to cash out to go sit for my dinner reservation . My bill was overpriced for happy hour but at the time I was rushing to meet with other friends for dinner. I believe he overcharged for wine during the happy hour and I paid regular price.
I would have called over a manager but hadn’t seen my friends in a long while so I was looking to keep it enjoyable.
Everything was perfect. Our waiter was terrific!!!! The only complaint, TOO LOUD. For a 5:30 dinner, it shouldn't be a nightclub. The wine flight for 30.00 was terrific!!! Thanks!!!!! (We were from out of town)
The food was very tasty and the service was great! Good restaurant for lunch!
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. I will definitely return.
Service was terrible. Over an hr to get apps. Never got drink refills etc.
Food was tasty but our table was close tot he door and every time the door opened it was a super cold blast. They should add a door curtain or eliminate that table.
Nice atmosphere was seating immediately with reservation staff was attentive and food was very good
There were hits and there were misses. Like I would definitely recommend the mushroom soup. And tell you to avoid the tuna tartare. The salmon was quite good as was the hummus platter. The cheese platter was ok. Over all I would go back, though from the last time I was here, the prices seemed to double (not the portions).
Valentines Day Dinner
Valentine’s Day dinner, it was delicious!
We waited 20 minutes to receive menu’s and for any server to come over to our table. The food wasn’t all that good. Very disappointed because from prior reviews I read it seemed
Like a good choice. Especially for Valentine’s Day.
Went to City Cellar last night for my first Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend and the experience was phenomenal! The food and service was absolutely amazing. Perfect evening! 5 stars jeans down!
Our server Krystal J was great she was really attentive to us. Our only issue was really with the appetizer it came out 40 mins after we ordered it, I know it Valentine’s Day which made it more hectic so we understand. They also had a great wine list.
I understand it was a holiday but they seemed very short staffed. It took over 70 mins to get our main course and the food was not very hot. We had reservations but the women at the front desk seemed on edge and short. The place has had great reviews but it did not live up to our expectations. We may try to come another time when it’s not a holiday to give it another shot.
They do not offer mozzarella on the meat and cheese board. The V day event room was set up with very uncomfortable chairs and to many tables. The food was mediocre at best. We would have had a nicer time sitting at the bar.
Overall the food was amazing, the service was a little slow in the beginning but maybe because it was Valentine’s Day, and the music was pretty loud at one point. Besides that though, likes coming here good for a night out.
My husband and I enjoyed a Valentine's day dinner on Friday the 14th. It was our 1st time eating there. Our reservation was for 7pm. We arrived on time and was immediately seated. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere was nice and the food was wonderful. We are looking forward to going back soon.
Worst experience ever. Never going back. Terrible place to do Valentine’s Day. Super crowded...couldn’t even pull chair out they jammed so many folding tables next to each other.
Very disappointed. Our food was given to the wrong table, and the server did not apologize. We got there at 6:30 and didn’t eat until 8 and only had appetizers! And our mashed potatoes had hair in them.
We were seated in their catering hall. We had 5 different parties plates of food put in front of us as none of the waitstaff had a clue as to which parties ordered what. Our server was not attentive and also placed two other parties checks at our table with their credit cards prior to us even receiving our meals. We had to send our food back as when we received it everything was ice cold as if it was sitting out for 20+minutes. The asparagus came out nearly raw. I have heard great things about this place, but on my birthday(Valentine’s Day) I did not have a good experience.
Great meal and service
Beautiful place. Great for business dinner. Dinner service at the bar area not recommended.
Service was friendly and quality of food was great but food arrival was very slow
Excellent service; delicious meal. I always enjoy coming to City Cellar. The brunch menu is wonderful.
We had a 7:00 reservation during Restaurant week. The menu for restaurant week states "until 7:00PM). When I asked for a restaurant week menu after being seated, I was told the last seating for restaurant week is 6:30. I asked the waitress to double check after she offered to do so. She sent the manager over, who I did not ask to speak to. Nonetheless, the manager came over but did not introduce himself. (I had no idea who he was or why he came to our table, he just stood there looking at me.) Finally he said, "You asked to speak to a manager?" I informed him that I did not, but once he addressed the issue I informed him we would be leaving to come back another time. He seemed shocked, but offered no service recovery or customer service at all. Shame on City Cellar, we will not be coming back. To be clear, the poor customer service is why we left. Had the issue been handled appropriately, we would've happily stayed and paid full price.
