Our server sierra was the bomb. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Made bday weekend amazing. Great restaurant in old Town.
Great service by a wonderful server who helped us make decisions regarding the menu. Her recommendations were all on point and each in our party of 5 was pleased with their choice. Food was absolutely amazing. The scallops, short ribs, chicken with mushroom risotto and meatloaf are all special. A culinary experience!
This is an expensive loud restaurant. Some dishes - ribs, chopped salad - are pretty good, but I fail to understand all the great reviews. The menu lacks breadth - all the fish is salmon. $56 for a filet mignon? No thank you. The bread pudding is laughable, a slice of bread with whiskey sauce. LOL. The beer and wine list are decent, but Postino - nearby on Scottsdale Rd. - has a far more adventurous selection at lower prices. Although its taken a COVID-19 supply hit, nearby Roaring Fork is way better value for money.
This is after the second visit.
Always a good choice at CPH! The signature salad is amazing!
The food was great, staff was awesome and attentive. It had a really nice laid back vibe, very spacious. The food- worth every penny! Crab cakes were amazing, the burger was cooked perfectly! Would definitely recommend!
Bacon fat popcorn was delicious. Our server was amazing recommending great food and drinks for our first time there. Very nice place would definitely go back!
Anyone who go loves great food and drink would be foolish not to try Citizen. Everyone in our group tried every dish of everyone else and everything was exceptional. 5 stars
Nice. But the place lost the flair. Use to be cozy and nice, now it looks very bare and too casual. But food is still amazing.
The chopped salad was delicious! The scallops and Brussels sprouts were mediocre. The broccolini served with the scallops was extremely salty and ruined the dish for me. The service was okay. Our server was nice and did not charge us full price but we left the meal very disappointed.
Delish! Great drinks! Fabulous service!
One of my favorite restaurants anywhere. I eat here every time I’m in town and have never had a bad experience. The cocktails are interesting and delicious. I crave the chopped salad and it never disappoints. Service is too notch. Thanks for another great evening.
My husband and two college-age daughters had a wonderful dinner. Everything was delicious and the service was very friendly and attentive. I didn’t give 5 stars fort the food because the menu hasn’t been updated in a while, but it is award winning and some people might think that’s a good thing. Also, re the ambiance, there are no longer white table cloths, but this is because of Covid. Would highly definitely recommend.
Food was good. Waiter made good suggestions. I loved the ambiance.
Waiter was great and food was tasty but uncomfortably loud.
We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Food was delicious, service was perfect and would recommend to anyone visiting the Old Town area.
The noise level is too high it was difficult to have a conversation with those at our table
Both my wife and I had excellent meals, they made a substitution for me without hesitation perfect results !
Perfect as always and Adriel was awesome. The only reason I am giving four stars for ambiance is because I am giving the loudest noise level. Just a suggestion, the music could be toned down and more classic/romantic or maybe some jazz played now and then. We’ve experienced that before here. Most everyone there last night, including ourselves, were not 22, partying, or clubbing, and we were all trying to have conversations; whatever was playing was kind of annoying and prevented that.
We had a great time and the food was just as good as it always is!
Chopped salad was amazing and I rarely love a salad! Also really enjoyed the scallops. We had bread pudding for dessert and thought it was just ok. Overall really enjoyed eating there!
The food and service were great. The ambiance is just ok.
My new favorite restaurant in town - Everything was absolutely INCREDIBLE! I will be returning very often :)
Nice ambiance our waiter Gary was great, informative, friendly and accommodating. Had the Scallops with corn polenta which was cooked perfectly with a sweetness provided by the corn and a rich buttery smoothness of the scallops.
Way too loud food great but don't think we'll be back any time soon
We had a great experience & our waiter was very helpful in helping us decide on entrees.
Great food and great atmosphere in Old Town. Definitely be back.
The food was fabulous! The restaurant week menu was excellent and I also enjoyed the wine selection.
Came for restaurant week….have always wanted to try and figured this is good way to experience……was wonderful! We will definitely be back….had the meatballs and scallops just perfect my husband had chop salad and short ribs excellent….I highly recommend and service was great 😊
Food was outstanding. Salmon, Coffee Short Ribs, Scallops, Steak, Chopped Salad, the four of us thought best prepared meal in while. Service fell short but they made up for it. Restaurant is noisy and the decor bland (that didn't matter) but they really don't need the music to add to the noise level. Go for the food with good friends and you'll be happy.
A great place in Scottsdale for our anniversary dinner. Sat outside on small patio on a beautiful evening. Great ambiance here and very friendly staff. Cocktails and food were great.
Eric & Margaret, at the bar were both fantastic. Even though the restaurant was very busy, we never felt rushed, and they recommended outstanding items off of the menu. The short ribs were delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed my scallops! I wish that they had a few more bourbons for offerings, and the appetizer menu was very weak.
Overall, we would go back just for Eric's & Margaret's service, not to mention the food, but this place is loud, and what's happening in the surrounding area is not what we envisioned with Old Town Scottsdale. Too many low rent bars with very loud music.
After quite a bit of researching prior to our trip, we decided to book a dinner reservation at Citizen Public House to celebrate our 7 year wedding anniversary during our time in Scottsdale.
We happened to be traveling during AZ Restaurant Week which offered a great preset menu to enjoy several courses.
Adriel was our waiter and was so great!! After we completed our meal, he let us know it was his first night on the floor. He did such an awesome job serving us and making us feel special!
The short ribs were heavenly. Unreal. Best we have her had! Can’t rave about them enough!!
The original chopped salad was also phenomenal! We also enjoyed the meatballs as an appetizer and whiskey bread pudding for dessert. The piña colada was delicious as well... not your typical over-sugary cocktail. This was next level! All A+++!
To celebrate our anniversary, they provided glasses of rosé to finish off our meal. Such a kind gesture and perfect end to a fabulous dinner!
The salad.....seriously. It was the best, the rest of my food was great too but when I come back it’s that salad for me!!!
As usual, great food, great drinks, great service. Don't miss the chopped salad and the barrel aged cocktails.
Wonderful service from start to finish. Had the field greens salad with balsamic celery dressing, scallops and short ribs and all were fantastic. Would definitely return!
the food is insanely good - it can be very loud, so maybe no romantic dates.
My husband and I wanted to try Citizen Public House before returning to SD. We also thought that Restaurant Week would be a great time to sample the food and drink. We were seated promptly, given water and several menus. We ordered happy hour drinks which were great and a good value. We ordered from the special RW menu and our first course arrived not long afterward. We both went with the popular chopped salad. Our server suggested we mix it all together to eat. It was great advice because that salad is a flavor and texture explosion! Wow, I don’t think I’ve had a better salad in my life. For main entrees, we ordered the meatloaf and the short ribs. They were presented beautifully and were so tasty. We shared each other’s meals and enjoyed every bite. Highly recommend those dishes. For dessert, we had a bread pudding which seemed a bit like French toast. Although it tasted fine, it wasn’t fabulous, but for $44 for three courses, we were very satisfied. I decided to order the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies to go. Those were amazing! My husband wouldn’t stop stealing bites from me. This restaurant did not disappoint. It was our first visit but it won’t be our last. The chef is talented and knows how to create great flavor combinations. Highly recommend!
Great waiter, good food, noisy atmosphere, difficult to park
Restaurant week. We wanted to try it out and was very impressed with the service and quality of food. Will recommend this place to or out of town friends and family!
We got there a bit early around 4:30. Started with some drinks and a social hour appetizer. The fondue was delicious. The presentation was appealing as well. We had the cocktail of the week which was a coconut pineapple mule. It was smooth and tasty, definitely recommend. We then had the original chop salad and the meatloaf entree. Both were delicious and well prepared. We finished with the bread pudding. Was a little over cooked but overall very tasty. Our server was phenomenal. All of the restaurant staff was attentive and pleasant.
