Had the elk. Given the price point, expected better. Sides (carrot purée, lentils, kale, brussel sprouts) just did not work well together, nor with the elk. Food arrived on the cold side. Server was good.

Made a reservation here for our 10th anniversary as it appeared to be the nicest place in Fernie. When I made the reservation I indicated it was for our anniversary, and that anything that could be done to make the evening extra special would be greatly appreciated. Nothing special was done what-so-ever. Which is fine, but any restaurant I've been to before has at least piped "Happy Anniversary" on our dessert plate. Wasn't expecting much, just something, anything really, so was disappointed on that front.
We were sat at a very small, crowded, 2 top table (which I swear was a metal out-door patio table moved in-doors), situated next to a giant wooden pillar. So we both felt cramped the whole meal. Would've preferred a table next to the fireplace which was a 4 top occupied by 2 people, so again felt irritated about the whole "anything special" note which was ignored.
Food was decent (fairly standard high end dining options, nothing spectacular in terms of originality). We both had the elk steak. Meat was cooked perfectly but the side dish (lentils and carrot mash with a few other ingredients) was piled under the meat and all the flavours ended up blending together). The side ended up tasting very acidic, almost bile like, and I couldn't finish it.
The drinks were good with interesting ingredient / flavour combinations.
Overall the experience was okay. No huge complaints but nothing wowed us either.
For the price, it wasn't really worth it IMO. We had a far superior meal at Nevados in town the night before.
Had several items on the menu. Everything was yummy. The Elk was the table favorite.
We have eaten at this restaurant twice in our trips to Fernie, and have never had a bad experience. The overall environment was amazing. Roaring fire place set in front of a scenic Après ski view at the bottom of the Fernie Ski resort. The staff were extremely kind and courteous, extremely accommodating, and the food and beverage were outstanding. After our first initial bite of our meal, our whole group started passing around small bites to everyone so we could share the delicious food. Would highly recommend to everyone to try, but be warned that it can get a bit pricey once you start to get carried away with the handcrafted cocktails...they can sneak up on you!
We were visiting Fernie for the first time and were looking for a lovely meal out without having to leave the hill. Our server, Kianna (sp?) was delightful! She was very knowledgeable and made our evening out a lot of fun! The food was fantastic. We had three different starters and four different entrees...all spectacular. Dessert was good as well.
Excellent meal, fabulous service and loved the atmosphere with our table right by the fire and beautiful view of the hills. The meal was outstanding!!! Very impressive. Loved seeing the ice bar too. 5++.
The Cirque is our "Go-To" restaurant in Fernie. For clients of Lizard Creek staying in the complex, I never understand why they would drive to town when the best of everything is available here.
The restaurant and food was lovely. But they were sold out of a couple items. And the food took a very long time to arrive.

Cirque was so great and the staff were so amazing we went two night's in a row. Cirque knows what they're doing and they do it well. Friendly and outgoing personalities from all the staff at Fernie, we'll be back for sure!!

Lovely evening with my awesome mountain friend, Carla. Great dinner. Cocktails by the fireplace first then on to s table for two close by. Carla had lamb, medium rare with callow potatoes and mushrooms. I had sea bream with ratatouille. Appetizer was truffle fries. Carla won the dinner sweepstakes. Her lamb was definitely nicer than my fish. We love this restaurant and it is becoming our regular Tuesday lunch or dinner spot. Jaimie at the bar makes a sweet boy on old fashioned and Sara is a beautiful and very competent waitress. Hostess Aileen rocks the restsurant. Beautiful spot
We had made reservations & were seated shortly before 8pm. A group of 18 arrived unexpectedly. We gladly moved tables so they had room. But after that our service deteriorated to almost none. Our food finally arrived just before 10pm. The cost for dinner was just over $300.00 for 4 people and was mediocre at best.
I would never go there again.
We enjoyed our night out at Cirque, in particular for the unique visit/experience at the Ice Bar for vodka tasting. Our meals were all quite good. Two of us had the gnocchi and it was delicious! We were somewhat disappointed in our service, however, as it was slow and we spent a lot of time waiting for drink refills. Our server also talked a lot about herself & her struggles in life, which seemed odd to be so cavalier at a higher-end restaurant?
Enjoyed the evening. Had some nice cocktails(they were happy to make up some customized cocktails). Meals were all good, Mussels for appetizers were great with the sausage. Caesar salad could of been tastier with a better dressing. Otherwise pretty good overall. We didn't have dessert.
For the most part everything was great. My steak was over cooked and my friends halibut was over cooked as well, but everything else was spot on. The food was good, service was amazing.
This was the closing weekend of the ski season. We started the season and ended the season with a fantastic meal.
Not sure if it a good thing or not when the bartenders know your favourite drink though😳
My wife had a chicked pasta dish which she raved about.
I ordered lamb medium rare. Very nicely presented. Though the meat was well done.
A great evening was had by all as we wished the staff all the best during the coming summer.

Ate dinner with my spouse. We each ordered something different (beef tenderloin and lamb striploin). Both our meals were so delicious. We also had cocktails and the bartender came over to our table to make sure everything was ok. It was very good, as he made me a custom cocktail. The dessert was also very good. Will definitely be back.
We have had a few great experiences at this Restaurant and this one didn't disappoint. Very good food, amazing location and very attentive service.
Come early sit at the bar and after dinner make sure you take a cab or stay at the lodge as the Vodka Ice Bar is very cool.
The service and ambiance was really nice, menu looked good and the appetizers and desserts were delicious. Too bad they don't serve local beer and liqures as there is multiple local brewery's and distillerys in the area. Unfortunately the mains were not what we expected. When you pay $39 for and Elk ribeye you expecte it to be cooked to perfection. The meat temperatures were off for everyone that got the Elk (4 out of 6) and it was like they forgot to add seasoning on the meat. Didn't have any flavour. The lambs and tenderloin was good. A little disappointed that there only was drip coffee as we heard they have delicious espresso menu. Hopefully the machine will get fixed asap!
As Calgary "locals", we've been coming to Lizard Creek Lodge and the various iterations of the restaurant at least a couple of times a year for well over a decade, essentially since Lizard Creek opened. Generally the restaurant(s) have been good to excellent. However, with this newest iteration, the "Cirque", things have taken a turn in the wrong direction. Last year wasn't bad, albeit arguably overpriced. Our first visit this year was supremely disappointing - an extremely limited menu, exorbitant prices, and sub-standard food. The half-dozen oysters (at $16) were rife with shell fragments. Someone in the kitchen needs a lesson in oyster shucking. My wife's salmon was OK, but my "Chicken Ballotine" was a joke. It was two small pieces, comprising no more than a couple of ounces of dried-out deep-fried chicken jerky.Even the "drumstick" piece was obviously cut from a larger piece of leg/thigh - clean cut at the drumstick, leaving the thigh to who knows where. In fact, it may have actually been the "drum" part of a wing. Charging $34 for this takes a lot of gall.
Now, the service is still great (the hostess/waitress recognized us), but the kitchen staff and/or menu is obviously aimed at tourists infatuated with elk and other "exotic" fare, as well as taken by the "ambience".
We had reservations this evening, which we cancelled.
Really, a shame. RCR needs to rethink their direction with this property since taking it over.
The food was very good. Service was spotty and strange. We ended up getting our own side plates for our appys. The woman who seated us was wearing an exceptionally small dress so when she bent over to tend the fire it was uncomfortable for all!
Loved the oysters fresh and delish the waitress was delightful

I am a little bit bewildered, it was not open for my reservation. I went there for 11 am and all I found was two staff at a reception desk who advised me that it did not open until the evening. I would like to suggest that Lizard creek update their website with correct information. This was an inconvenience and it would be nice to see some sort of gesture from them to make up for the lost time that was put into this. As you are aware, time is precious and wasting it is something I try not to do.
This was a last minute decision to go for a night at Lizard Creek. The room and meal deal help sway the decision to go.
The Cirque was very quiet which we rather enjoyed sitting by the fire. (I would imagine on busy nights it could be quiet loud in there).
The food... well was AMAZING!!!! Perfectly size portioned and well timed between each course.
The menu and wine list at Cirque are wonderful. I have been to Cirque 3 times over the last 6 months and continue to be challenged by the service. On Saturday night we once again struggled with the level of service. Service was incredibly spotty and rushed due to a shortage in staffing. We ordered a bottle of wine that we didn't finish and requested th at we could take it home. When we asked to have this done the server couldn't locate the wine then couldn't find the cork so we gave up. I wanted to take home my pasta that I hadn't eaten but that was whisked away before I could ask. This is too bad as this is a beautiful spot.
Delightful food, a bit spendy, but overall a great experience. Start with the buck-a-shuck. They were amazing!
We eat here on a regular basis. The Cirque is THE place to go in Fernie. Its views are some of the most spectacular anywhere. Oh, and then there is the Ice Bar.
The restaurant was amazing! It overlooked the mountains and we were lucky enough to go during off season so we only shred the restaurant with a couple other people.
We tried the 3 course menu and every, single bite was delicious. I literally can not think of a complaint about the food.
Realtors talk about Location, Location, Location. The Cirque at Lizard Creek epitomizes Location for resterants. Wow, what a view of the Lizard Headwall. The renovation in the facility is exceptional.
We ordered a bottle of Prosecco and clinked glasses to a special evening. The waitress explained the evening specials. Unfortunately, I did not understand what any of the fancy items on special actually were. I am not familiar with all the chef language. I'm sure she didn't either.
I ordered mussels. My wife ordered chicken something or other.
While waiting bread and an balsamic and olive oil dish were brought. The olive oil over powered the balsamic. The bread roll was delicious.
My mussel dish was incredible. I frequently order mussels. This had to be the best I have ever had. The sauce was tasty, with strips of salami mixed in with the sea food.
My wife found the presentation of her food to be outstanding. I could not believe she ate everything, scraping her plate clean.
I would now place the Cirque as the best resterant in Fernie.
We visited for a family birthday. The room, the views, the menu and the food were great. The service was polite and friendly however we were rushed through our meal and the entrees arrived before e'd finished the starters. There were plenty of free tables so it's not like we were taking up room that was needed for a later service - i think it was just poor timing from the kitchen. The waiter was very apologetic!
Would go back.
