we walked in a little after 2 in the afternoon and had a party of 12, they only had one waitress and one in training, neither of them knew what they were doing.... coulcn't even keep the drinks full... food was overpriced for the quality... Do not Recommend
Made a reservation for a group pre NCAA tourney title game since lots of downtown Indy spots weren't taking reservations and it had pretty good reviews on Yelp. thoroughly disappointing. reduced menu which they didn't let us know ahead of time. Food was greasy and almost indelible. Do not recommend
I am not sure I have had worse service than last Sunday before the Colts game. The restaurant was not half full, so no excuses on dealing with a crowd. After waiting over 15 minutes to get water glasses filled, we placed our order. The waitress returned 15 minutes later to retake our drink and food order. She had not placed the original order or gotten our drinks. We decided to change to the buffet (although none of us wanted the buffet) to speed up our departure. Buffet was average and expensive.
We made a reservation here through Open Table, so I really didn't have much idea what to expect, but their Thanksgiving prix fixe was in the right range, so we decided to give it a chance. We happened to be the first party to seat there at 1pm Thanksgiving Day, and they really rolled out the red carpet for us. The manager and waitress (Kellie) were super friendly and welcoming, and very understanding about part of our party being delayed on the way there. Our food was excellent, the drinks were prompt, and they really treated us like family.
This seems to be a hidden gem in Indianapolis-- with so many restaurants downtown, it may get lost in the shuffle, but give them a chance. The food was really top notch. I had a NY Strip that was easily as good as any I've had at Ruth's Chris, and the Thanksgiving spread was really excellent as well. Kellie was super personable and friendly, and though she got a bit busy as our meal wore on, she really maintained her sweet and helpful demeanor. I'll definitely go back.
The food is good, the service very good and helpful. They accomadated our 2 strollers with 2 infants without any hesitation.
very convenient to the convention center!
We went before the Colts game. Food was great. Service was great and friendly. Already made res for next home game.
Worst experience at a restaurant in the last five years. Understaffed, slow service, and cold food
I booked this reservation for 645 on a Monday night where the Colts were playing Monday night football. This was one of the only places that could get us in in short notice. We arrived around 635pm 10 minutes early and were sat right away. There was hardly anyone dining in the restaurant at the time we were there. We didn't get to order for at least 15 min and did not receive food until well after we had been there over an hour. Needless to say we did not make the game before kickoff and had the worst dining experience ever to blame for it. All we ordered was wings a flatbread fries and a salad and it took well over an hour to get any of it out to us... even the salad. Worst Downtown dining experience ever!
Unfortunately.. .this was an awful experience. There were a few patrons... but not alot for a Colts Monday night game. Our server took one hour to bring us one round of drinks and the appetizer came at the hour mark. Service was awful. She wasn't rude... but just could get our table served. When the food finally came out to our table an hour and 10 minutes after ordering... and only 2 rounds of drinks served... ( Not even to everyone)... the flatbreads were stiff and ice cold. the wings were COLD... This was a terrible experience. I had made the reservations for 8 of us and embarrassed that I picked this place. Now, in fairness... they did not charge us for drinks or flatbreads... however... NOTHING made it worth the awful trip.
I only went here because it was the only restaurant that was able to handle a large group (12) during a busy convention saturday night. The place was relatively empty and now I know why. Service was extremely slow. Food was mediocre. I would not go back, I would rather go get food at the mall food court then suffer this place again.
For a hotel restaurant it is very good. I did not feel like I was in the hotel. The staff was friendly and the food was good. Prices were not overly inflated like often times is the case in the hotel. The prices were comparable to the rest of the downtown places. If you are staying at the Marriott, it is certainly worht going here. The convienience is there and experiecne was good.
Not much of a restaurant as we were the only people eating. There was a shift change and we had multiple servers that all disappeared...food was just fair. Too bad as the Marriott itself is a great hotel and could do so much with the restaurant.
Best place nearby convention center if you want a quiet reprieve from the trade and tourist traffic. Don't expect trendy table fair - soup/sandwiches best.
Gofd place to have a quiet lunch away from the very busy convention center. Solid, non-trendy food. Moderate prices. Relaxed service.
If I weren't staying at the Mariott I wouldn't have eaten there. Food was ok the service was poor.
The servers were wonderful -attentive, kind, courteous. The restaurant did not have our reservation when I called and when we arrived. However they were not busy and seated us promptly. The restaurant is behind the bar area and visible from the lobby. It feels a bit like a fishbowl for dining. Probably fine for lunch or festive cocktails.
I had dinner with my colleague at Circle City Bar & Grille, on our first night in town. When I booked the reservation, I thought there were more options, but no. The food was okay.
One of our favorite Brunch places in Indianapolis. Everything is always fresh and up to the Marriott standards. Also, free parking downtown!
Despite 5+ inches of snow, my wife and I made our trek to Downtown Marriott for special Valentine's Day dinner of striped bass (with root vegetables) and confit cassoulet (duck & sausage stew). Appetizer was prosciutto, cheese and olive mixture and dessert was homemade chocolate with almonds. The wine pairings were complimentary to the three courses. An extended, relaxing time of nearly 2 hours was sufficient to brave the elements for walk to our cars! Will return for another special or even routine occasion.
We were met at the entrance and taken care of all the way through the dining experience.
Food much better than expected. One of the desserts was just outstanding, and unsual - Basil Mousse Cake. Have never had anything like it, and it was awesome. Pork chop especially good, also.
I booked a 10 top for my group while we were in town for Indy 500 weekend and we were the only people in the restaurant (as long as you don't count the couple that came in and left 2 minutes later). There was only one server working the entire restaurant, but the service was extremely slow. I think the server was a little intimidated by the group and didn't feel confident enough to interrupt to take orders. Once we did finally received our food, it was good across the board. I wouldn't recommend this based on the service alone. Also, it makes me a little nervous when we were the only people in the restaurant on the busiest weekend in Indianapolis.
