Circe Restaurant & Bar
The menu consists of American-infused, Mediterranean dishes and drinks that are "exotic and special."
They tried to sit us at a very busy area, when we asked for a different table we were treated with attitude all night. Been there before & they couldn’t have been nicer. Last night was NOT what we expected!!!
Restaurant week. We did not have a good waitress. She didn’t even tell us her name. Ruined the whole experience.
Amazing food! Grilled oysters, meatballs and polenta, salmon and lobster crab caramelle and assortment of chocolate desserts!
Went to dinner during restaurant week. They were packed and trying to keep up with reservations. We sat 29-25 min past our res time. In my opinion, the service was not as good as usual, probably due to how busy they were.
Food was great! Can’t wait to go back for more lamb lollipops. Service was also fast and effective. The only down side was that the ambient noise made it hard to have a romantic night.
We visited for restaurant week and had a really pleasant experience. The Crab and Lobster Caramelle was cooked perfectly! And I really enjoyed the White Chocolate Pumpkin Creme Brûlée! The tables are a bit close to each other for my liking but the remainder of our experience was great!
Great food! Great service!! Best calamari!
Service was awesome, beautiful decor, food was great!
We went to Circe for a pre-theater dinner, and it happened to be Providence Restaurant week so we took advantage of the price-fixe menu. The roasted beet salad was delicious, with pomegranate seeds and a very light vinaigrette that didn’t overpower the greens. Our waitress also recommended the grilled oysters which were delicious. The garlic butter was also great for dipping. I ordered the grilled salmon with corn salsa and my husband had the short rib served with risotto and asparagus. Both were excellent. I had the winter sorbets, including pear sorbet and champagne granita. It was really refreshing. My husband had an Apple torte made with puff pastry and served with vanilla sorbet. Really delicious. Our waitress gave us good advice and great service. We went back after the show to pick up the car and the bar was still hopping! Altogether a wonderful experience and walking distance to PPAC!
I love this restaurant! Great food and staff. I have never been disappointed!
great food & service!
Restaurant week was an great value I had the Fried Oysters for appetizer and the Pan Fried Scallops for the main course. The service and choices were excellent I would recommend Circe to anyone and the White Chocolate Pumpkin Creme Brulee was a perfect way to end the experience
Delicious! The food was fantastic and so was the ambiance. We had such a nice table by the window. Highly recommend for a night out with friends or date night!
Wanted to try a new restaurant during restaurant week. Excellent choice!
Visited Circe during restaurant week for my birthday. Exceptional gourmet experience. Worth to 90 ride from N.H. We’ll be back!
An excellent dining experience. I had selected Circe because their Restaurant Week menu looked fantastic, and it did not disappoint. The three courses I chose--burrata w/ sweet peppers, scallops w/ lobster mash, and a caramel creme brulee--were all amazing and a great value compared to their regular prices. The cocktail menu had some creative concoctions, but unfortunately they were out of the apple cider mojito (the lychee martini was a decent replacement). Our server was very attentive and the atmosphere was quiet, but it was also early on a Sunday evening. The only aspect I didn't love was the "long bench with many small tables" seating style; if the restaurant was full it would feel incredibly cramped. Otherwise it was a delicious dinner and I would definitely recommend!
Great Brunch great time
A providence favorite! Carlo ans the team are the best! Salmon is amazing
Excellent meal and service.
Read the reviews and brought my boyfriend here for his birthday. The service was great, the food was great and the drinks were good as well, the ambiance was nice, the seating was a little close and crowded but not to the point where you could not enjoy yourself and have a conversation without having to speak to yell or speak loudly, overall impressed!
Great place to eat! The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. Was not a huge fan of how close we sat next to others while we ate, but the great service and food makes up for it.
Great experience, fantastic food, comfortable atmosphere, great service! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a meaningful dinner full of quality food and wine.
Nice quiet table perfect for our date
Alcove table in front was cold on a very cold night.
But service was warm and food was very good.
Everyone in the party agreed.
Great atmosphere and excellent food and service! Can’t wait to try the East Greenwich location.
Lobster risotto with avocado ice cream, lamb lollipops and grill oysters were delicious, creative! Great service and friendly staff. Will go back for an entree next time.
Staff is so kind and accommodating, and the food is impeccable. Also, the plates are reasonably priced.
Great night!! Jess was the best. Thank you!!
Wonderful Staff and Great Food! We've dined here a few times and enjoyed every experience!
Great food, creative menu, beautifully plated, cranky, inattentive waitress. It was very cold and drafty in the restaurant on a cold winter night. The manager was very accommodating and turned off the ceiling fans, to the relief of several tables.
Definitely look forward to going back😁
Tickets for PPAC. Service was great. Food very tasty with good presentation. We had 3 courses. No long waits. Bruschetta was very different and tasty. Get it. Duck 2 ways was awesome..very rich. Will go again. When making reservations make sure you mention going to PPAC. They will ensure you get out timely.
Were hoping for a nice Sunday brunch but were very disappointed. My meal was terrible and my husband was satisfied (not thrilled) . Coffee was old with coffee grinds floating. Too bad as the restaurant itself was nice. We won’t be back
The menu was a fresh mix of seafood and farm to table, it was difficult to make a decision. The lobster ravioli small plate with avocado ice cream was a unique and delicious balance of warm risotto and cold ice cream. The mushroom bolognese was perfectly rich and savory without being heavy. To end the perfect meal, was the birthday celebration in a very unique way. It wasn't even for our table and the whole restaurant was smiling and dancing! Our service was just a tad too slow, we felt like we were forget more than once. It didn't seem like a kitchen issue. This was the perfect date night spot! It will be hard to beat anywhere else.
We were celebrating a special birthday and our excellent server, Jess, made it special indeed. She got us right into the spirit of the occasion, not intrusively but in a friendly and comfortable manner. The drink list is innovative, the small plates were fun to share, and we all enjoyed our entrees. The wine list includes a nice variety of price points. And the dessert was over the top! It is a bit too noisy but we did ask for a quieter table and were happy with our corner location.
The food was simply amazing. So fresh. The lettuce was just picked, so we’re off to a good start! The bread was fabulous. We had the wild boar Ragu and a chicken with risotto. Everything was tasty and absolutely perfect. Taylor, the manager, is great and our server, Jessica, was, too.
We went to the restaurant at 6 PM, before the show. It was very convenient to PPAC.
One of the worst experiences! When seated we informed the waiter that we were going to a 7.30 show. That being said we waited 30 minutes for our drinks to finally arrive after the waiter brought first the wrong wine and a flat beer. He never brought us bread, my husbands soup was cold and after sitting there for an hour and repeatedly asking the waiter where are food was. We got up and walked out so as not to miss our show!! Right before we left the waiter said the manager would be right over to talk to us and we waited about 5-10 minutes and he never showed up! So beware if you want to eat there before a show! Never going back!
We sat on 2nd floor before the theatre.
The service was terrible because there was not enough coverage upstairs.
Food was tasty for the most part cold when it arrived but it took much too long.
We've been to Circe many times and enjoyed the food, ambiance etc. We always plan to dine there when we attend PPAC for their valet service. This time I had to drive around the block 3 times in the 5:00pm traffic with busses beeping behind us! We had to find a parking area and when we arrived inside they had no idea why there wasn't valet parking available. Our waitperson was very pleasant, but we had to wait 45 for our entree after our salad. She didn't understand what the delay was, however others were eating around us that had come in after us The dinners were delicious, but we felt very rushed when they finally arrived.
Food is delicious and very fresh. Service was excellent. Highly recommend going to this restaurant especially before the theater which is right down the street.
Way too loud & noisy — and wait staff way overloaded
