Circe Restaurant & Bar
The menu consists of American-infused, Mediterranean dishes and drinks that are "exotic and special."
The lamb lollipops 10/10. Seasalt fries 10/10. Burrata 9/10. Calamari 9/10. Burger was 6/10. The brioche bun killed it, too overpowering. Banana bread pudding 9/10.
Pretty from the road and nice vibe but we were seated in the near corner by the door and the bar. The family next to us asked to be moved to another table away from the door bc they were cold from the door opening to the street every time someone came I'm or left. The service was well below oar but the staff was at least nice. Older woman who was the hostess told my daughter she would bring a spoon but completely forgot. Our waiter, Sam, was very nice but confused and didn't get to check on us more than once during our stay. He was a nice guy though. The dinner was brought to our table by another young lady who had to ask what each of us had. Extremely disorganized. The food was fine but definitely not memorable. Very sparse dessert offerings so he convinced us to get death by chocolate which was not so great. Overall, average place and not at all classy or good at service. We won't be running back anytime soon.
Absolutely divine in every way!
Always a pleasure to dine at Circe. The staff remember their customers and welcome them. The menu choices offer a variety of selections, often seasonal, in the right proportions. The wine list was simple, well thought out to compliment the food.
I ordered the Ahi Tuna special and was blown away by the preparation and taste. I had such a hard time figuring out what to order because everything looked so good. Will definitely be back again!
We really enjoyed our meal at Circe before the play. All of our choices were delicious and we will definitely be back again another time!
The experience would have been totally different had we been able to hear each other talk. We had no idea that at 10:15 music would be blaring and our table would be directly below the DJ. Food was good – not phenomenal – and overpriced for what you got.
It's all about the details and those were neglected ... perhaps because of the time of night we were there? Waters were never refilled during our stay with definite lapses in checking in on how we were doing in between apps/dinner/dessert.
To top it all off, it was a birthday celebration which I had called earlier to share & request that a special dessert be brought over. Our waiter had no idea about the request.
Had heard good things about this restaurant and was very disappointed. It was a contender for dinner after graduation and will be taken off the list as a result. I think this location is better suited for drinks & socializing after work (which I definitely would do) rather than dinner with family.
The food was amazing. Our waitress was on point 😁. Circe will be a favorite of ours from now on .
Good food and service, but we were in the back where it was less noisy, but there was a draft.. apparently a door kept opening ? next time I's ask to be seated elsewhere, but I'd go back.
We went to Circe for my fiancé’s birthday and our dinner was delicious. I had the chicken and the risotto was amazing, I would highly recommend it. We also tried the deviled eggs and cheese board. I tried a drink recommended by our server and it was very tasty. Everything was wonderfully prepared.
Amazing food as always. Food is so thoughtfully prepared and presented beautifully. Service was great. Fun vibe later in the night. We dined on a Saturday.
It was VERY busy the night we went for restaurant week. It was a little loud and crowded but the food was delicious!
They tried to sit us at a very busy area, when we asked for a different table we were treated with attitude all night. Been there before & they couldn’t have been nicer. Last night was NOT what we expected!!!
Food was delicious and service was great!
Restaurant week. We did not have a good waitress. She didn’t even tell us her name. Ruined the whole experience.
Amazing food! Grilled oysters, meatballs and polenta, salmon and lobster crab caramelle and assortment of chocolate desserts!
Went to dinner during restaurant week. They were packed and trying to keep up with reservations. We sat 29-25 min past our res time. In my opinion, the service was not as good as usual, probably due to how busy they were.
Food was great! Can’t wait to go back for more lamb lollipops. Service was also fast and effective. The only down side was that the ambient noise made it hard to have a romantic night.
We visited for restaurant week and had a really pleasant experience. The Crab and Lobster Caramelle was cooked perfectly! And I really enjoyed the White Chocolate Pumpkin Creme Brûlée! The tables are a bit close to each other for my liking but the remainder of our experience was great!
Great food! Great service!! Best calamari!
Service was awesome, beautiful decor, food was great!
We went to Circe for a pre-theater dinner, and it happened to be Providence Restaurant week so we took advantage of the price-fixe menu. The roasted beet salad was delicious, with pomegranate seeds and a very light vinaigrette that didn’t overpower the greens. Our waitress also recommended the grilled oysters which were delicious. The garlic butter was also great for dipping. I ordered the grilled salmon with corn salsa and my husband had the short rib served with risotto and asparagus. Both were excellent. I had the winter sorbets, including pear sorbet and champagne granita. It was really refreshing. My husband had an Apple torte made with puff pastry and served with vanilla sorbet. Really delicious. Our waitress gave us good advice and great service. We went back after the show to pick up the car and the bar was still hopping! Altogether a wonderful experience and walking distance to PPAC!
I love this restaurant! Great food and staff. I have never been disappointed!
great food & service!
Restaurant week was an great value I had the Fried Oysters for appetizer and the Pan Fried Scallops for the main course. The service and choices were excellent I would recommend Circe to anyone and the White Chocolate Pumpkin Creme Brulee was a perfect way to end the experience
Delicious! The food was fantastic and so was the ambiance. We had such a nice table by the window. Highly recommend for a night out with friends or date night!
Wanted to try a new restaurant during restaurant week. Excellent choice!
Visited Circe during restaurant week for my birthday. Exceptional gourmet experience. Worth to 90 ride from N.H. We’ll be back!
An excellent dining experience. I had selected Circe because their Restaurant Week menu looked fantastic, and it did not disappoint. The three courses I chose--burrata w/ sweet peppers, scallops w/ lobster mash, and a caramel creme brulee--were all amazing and a great value compared to their regular prices. The cocktail menu had some creative concoctions, but unfortunately they were out of the apple cider mojito (the lychee martini was a decent replacement). Our server was very attentive and the atmosphere was quiet, but it was also early on a Sunday evening. The only aspect I didn't love was the "long bench with many small tables" seating style; if the restaurant was full it would feel incredibly cramped. Otherwise it was a delicious dinner and I would definitely recommend!
Great Brunch great time
A providence favorite! Carlo ans the team are the best! Salmon is amazing
Excellent meal and service.
Read the reviews and brought my boyfriend here for his birthday. The service was great, the food was great and the drinks were good as well, the ambiance was nice, the seating was a little close and crowded but not to the point where you could not enjoy yourself and have a conversation without having to speak to yell or speak loudly, overall impressed!
Great place to eat! The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. Was not a huge fan of how close we sat next to others while we ate, but the great service and food makes up for it.
Great experience, fantastic food, comfortable atmosphere, great service! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a meaningful dinner full of quality food and wine.
Nice quiet table perfect for our date
Alcove table in front was cold on a very cold night.
But service was warm and food was very good.
Everyone in the party agreed.
Great atmosphere and excellent food and service! Can’t wait to try the East Greenwich location.
Lobster risotto with avocado ice cream, lamb lollipops and grill oysters were delicious, creative! Great service and friendly staff. Will go back for an entree next time.
Staff is so kind and accommodating, and the food is impeccable. Also, the plates are reasonably priced.
