Circe Restaurant & Bar
The menu consists of American-infused, Mediterranean dishes and drinks that are "exotic and special."
We sat at the bar for dinner. Anthony the bartender was great!
Consistently one of the best restaurants we go to. Never ever disappointed. Food and service are always amazing. Loved it so much had my husband intimate birthday party in the space upstairs.
Food and service were top notch. We were seated on the second floor overlooking the bar. All of the noise from the first floor made it extremely loud upstairs. The four of us could hardly hear each other speak. We would probably go again due to the excellent food and service but if we did, we would want to be seated on the first floor in the back.
All was lovely until suddenly very loud DJ music was blasted throughout the restaurant, which interrupted our dinner conversation. It was actually very good music, but if I want to be bombarded by loud music, I'd rather go to a dance club than have it at a fine dining establishment. Great food, cocktails and service, though. I will go back, just a little earlier to avoid the loud music.
Business luncheon, great service and delicious specials
Our new favorite restaurant in Providence! Everything was amazing.
The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. The food was outstanding, and the ambiance was perfect for a date night. It was an all around great experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
We have been going to Circe for the past 2 years and we are always happy with our food and aymosphere and staff. Love it !!!
Food was disappointing.
Excellent atmosphere! Food and vibe made the night. Highly recommend for a great evening out. The sound and tracks created by DJ Jay Free were on fleek.
Mediocre food and service. Recommendation for wine selection was: "this bottle is very popular and this one isn't as much". Received brie cheese when I ordered goat cheese. Was told that brie was made out of goat milk. Very disappointed. especially since I had dined there son a couple of occasions and had a different recollection of the food and the service. Maybe a fluke?
Wonderful New Year's Eve dinner at Circe. Our first time there and are already planning on going back. Food delicious and beautifully presented. Duck three ways was mouth watering, and the scallops with crab and lobster ravioli on spinach was amazing. Taylor, our server, was friendly, attentive, and gave good suggestions. We sat upstairs in the romantic balcony tables by the windows. Thank you to the chef and owner for creating a special dining experience atmosphere with excellent food and service.
Amazing food and exceptional service as always. Taylor was the bomb!
Jess was our waitress. Very warm and personable. Great pre show experience
Another fine dining experience at Circe! Thank you!
Excellent meal and service
Everyone in our party love their meals!
Incredible experience. I asked my girlfriend to marry me here and they gave me the perfect positioned table to do so. We could see the city lights while enjoying amazing food. The staff were incredible from start to end. Highly recommend.
A very loud environment. There was a holiday party but upstairs was also very loud. Left before ordering. Tried to talk to hostess before leaving, but she was too busy to pay attention to customers leaving. Not sure we'll go back.
Great food. Great service. Valet parking. Attractive space. Highly recommend.
No maitre’d greeting guests as they come into the door. She left her station and nobody had any idea what was going on. Not great first impression, nor a warm message to send to your guests when you are in the -hospitality- industry...
Avoid chicken salad at all costs unless you are looking for for very chewy insipid proteins and lack of acidity.
Ok plus side, meatloaf is good. Service vastly improved despite lack of anyone greeting you at the door, and total disorder.
I had a great dinner with my wife for her birthday I would definitely recommend this to friends
Food was great and awesome Napa cabs offered by the bottle for a fair price
A lovely time. Thank you.
This was my second time at the restaurant and the food was exceptional. We had gone on a saturday evening at 7pm and our wait for food was over an hour. The waitress and manager were extremely polite and responsive so we enjoyed our experience just seems like a off night for service. Will definitely be back!
One day of our favorite restaurants. It’s a great value. The ambiance is great and the food is always interesting. Love it.
We visited Circe for the first time this past weekend prior to going to PPAC. We were seated promptly and asked if we were going to the show prior to ordering. Our server, Taylor was terrific! She was courteous, knowledgable and just a delight. The food was also excellent. We had the grilled oysters to start and they added one more to the dish so we could both have two. I had the scallops on a bed of squash puree with lentils that was superb. My husband had the pork shops with the cherry sauce, which was also very good. Would highly recommend to all friends and family.
There are many great restaurants in Providence and Circe always makes my top list. There is always a fun inviting celebratory atmosphere. One of my top choices during the holidays as well. Food is superior and wait staff are very knowledgeable on every item on the menu. The duck entree was superb and cooked to perfection. Someone in our party ordered the meatloaf and it was phenomenal which is not something typically said of Meatloaf. But how can you go wrong with the bone marrow demi glaze. They also make excellent cocktails. Highly recommended and I will go back time and time again.
Very friendly and professional waitstaff and of course the food was awesome!
The duck is quite wonderful, especially with the confit part being so delectably tender. My dining companions got the swordfish special and we were surprised at the $40 price tag. Seemed a bit high considering the normal swordfish dish on menu was $32. Great that the restaurant has complimentary valet and you can go to the theatre and come back for your car. Nice benefit. Liked that the restaurant was accommodating to my being gluten free.
Each year my husband and I try a new restaurant before heading to the Christmas Carol at Trinity. This year we chose Circe, as I had read great things about it. We split a beet salad prior to our main meals. As the waitress came to check on us, we all looked down at my salad plate and noticed a decent sized bug, legs up, in my salad. The waitress took it away immediately and about 10 minutes later the manager came to apologize... or so we thought. His words were "Well I have to come by because there was a bug in your salad but let's be honest, these things happen." Really? These things happen? At a restaurant where we are paying $55 for a steak? He finished with "Obviously I won't make you pay for it, and at least you know the lettuce is fresh if there was a bug in it." Um... yeah... How about "I'm so sorry there was a bug in you food." Maybe a free drink? Maybe a free dessert? Something??? We were a bit upset at the way it was handled. The waitress was very nice about it though (Angie). If we didn't have a show to catch and weren't in a time crunch we would have left and gone elsewhere. We definitely won't be back. The only upside to the place was that we were able to leave our car with the valet and take an Uber to the show so we didn't have to worry about parking at the theater. Oh, wait, that's right, my car got hit while in the possession of the valet. So I guess overall it wasn't worth it.
We turned down the first table offered to us which was at the top of the stairs. The second table was at the back of the second floor, quiet but not a great seat either. Service was fine. We both had the short ribs which is our go-to dish to order. They were moist but not that flavorful.
We have season tickets at PPAC. Circe is our go to after the matinee. The food, the cocktails and the service are always exceptional.
Great service. Everyone we interacted with was fantastic. Definitely would return.
Taylor is the best!!! She ensures you have a wonderful dining experience
Food and service excellent!!
Food was excellent, but the noise level is so high you can't have a conversation over dinner. Unfortunate since it's a nice atmosphere and great food...just go with people you don't want to talk to!
Got the mussels for an app. I couldn’t believe how much they give you and they were delish! Entrees were yummy as well. Martini was nice and big and topped off. I don’t know how the waitress carried it up all those stairs without spilling it. Would definitely return!
Everything from food to the service was spot out. Helpful stuff great looking place to be in
