Visited for a business breakfast. No one else was there aside from our table, which made it somewhat embarrassing but also beneficial for the conversation. Staff was considerate and attentive. Table was well set with proper linens. Room was rather plain, though the arcaded balcony (which was closed) must have an incredible ambiance.
Dinner special is very filling. Was charged for sparkling water as $11 but i never had sparkling water. Just the still water. Kinda suspicious but was in a hurry to leave so couldn’t delve into it more. Would have been fine if i was charged $11 for still water. Not for sparkling which i never had.
I expected so much more. Let’s start with what was really appetizing, the lentil salad with vegetables. This was the best part of lunch. It was tasty, well seasoned, and fresh. However, the Branzino was not great. It was a dry fillet with no flavor. It was the main course. However, the broccolini was very tasty. Maybe if I returned, I will only have vegetables. Cipriani seems to get that right.
The waiter and supporting peopele were awesome. Did not get his name and he did not provide. Great job on celebrating my wife's birthday. Nice. We were surprised by the price of the wine and the overall costs based on premises. Good++, not excellent value for the meal. Staff were excellent. Joe and Penny McGuire Young man walking around only found time for certain customers. Hovered over one table. Would have been nice to have him ask how our night was going.
The service here was in a word...FAST!!! We were a party of 6, and once we placed our orders it was off to the races! A sea of servers refilled glasses and "snatched" empty plates off of the table at a speed that would make your head spin. I suppose it was because there was literally a waiting line of people to be seated, sort of reminded me of a night club! You'd look up and they were looking back at you. The food was very good, delicious in fact with the exception of the tuna tartare...it was flavorless and served simply with crust-less white toast. The desserts were also very good but looked pre-made and thrown on to a plate. Little to no effort went into presentation. If you want fine dining at the speed of a horse race then this fits the bill.
Food was great. Everything else - dissapointing.
My reservation with a client was at 12. Restaurant opens at 12. I arrive there at 11.50 and the doorman told us to wait outside until 12. We get into the restaurant (upstairs) which is more like a lobby converted into a restaurant. Waiters tell us to wait for our party to arrive then we can get seated. There wasn't one soul in the place. We ask again - they say no, we have to wait for your party to arrive. We ask again and point the ridiculousness of the situation. The waitresses ask " manager" sleeked back hair guy, to which he says "yes, seat them at 16 17" (2 small tables pulled together) despite us asking for the round table for 4 people. My boss had to ask the higher manager for a decent table since we are taking out clients. Finally got moved.
Dear Cipriani - the logical time to open the restaurant is 11.30 if you take Reservations at 12, once customers are in - service is on, don't employ middle managers that treat your customers "a dime, a dozen". Thank you and keep cooking delicious food, it will keep some people coming back.....that plus the reputation built at the midtown location.
Awesome service but the food was mediocre. The best dish was the risotto. The veal chop Milanese, was more a bite of fried than meat. The buffalo mozzarella was old and sour, completely opposite of what I know as quality at Cipriani. We tried a wine by the glass, smelled and tasted as if vinegar had been added; awful. We opted for a traditional bottle of Brunello that was spectacular.
Went with several colleagues after work on a Tuesday night in mid-November. The place was dead so conversation was easy. The food is good to very good (and old school) but the menu is fairly limited. the apps and desserts were the highlights of the meal. My entree (veal milanese with arugula salad on top) was good but pricey. The wine list has a lot of big name Italian wines but the mark-ups are quite high (even by NYC standards).
The building is amazing! You can't even believe there is a restaurant inside, is very classy and elegant. Inside, the service was amazing, every waiter was very attentive and despite the cold, they let us go out to the terrace that has an amazing view of the street. The amount of food is huge! and every bite is delicious. This is a great experience for any person visiting New York.
I have eaten in most of the Cipriani restaurants and Cirpiani Wall Street is by far my favorite. A setting right out of a Hollywood movie, sophisticated, glamorous, and service you don't find in many restaurants. The food is exceptional, as always. My daughter is gluten free, so they prepared a delicious gluten free pasta for her. It was my wife's birthday, and the wait staff serenaded her with Happy Birthday....and a delicious slice of their Vanilla Maringue cake. I would highly recommend a visit to this wonderful dining spot.
Location on middle of Wall Street is very convenient to all south of the Village. Second floor location affords privacy in a clubby atmosphere. Service is totally in line with high end dining, and I believe their Chef was 3-star+ trained, top of his class! Portions were quite large, surprising for such high quality food and presentation.
Staff was perfectly attentive, highly trained professions, never intrusive, affording privacy throughout the evening. We'll be back!
We had a table outside on the balcony which was ideal on a sultry evening. We had to ask for the wine list and the waiter clearly thought men should drink more than women. Following two heavy courses, we needed a break but with great speed some hefty looking cakes were dropped onto the table. We declined the sweet course. This was a fantastic location and the food good yet I wouldn't go back or recommend it.
We had dinner on the outdoor terrace overlooking Wall Street. It was a beautiful crisp fall evening. There are no cars allowed on Wall Street, so the street was very quiet and romantic - a rare find in NYC. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. The risotto primavera was excellent and large enough to share - well worth the 20 minute wait to prepare.
