Great waiter made the experience even better!
Excellent ambiance, the personnel outstanding, trendy, great wine selection!!
Everything was fantastic. Service was on point. Everyone was nice... and my favorite part no garlic!!
Always a good choice when downtown
Love Cipriani’s always special!!
Simply the best food and service in Manhattan. Love it
Veal Milanese always delivers. Great scene, great cocktails - excellent venue.
As always, a dining experience out of central casting. You either go for the people watching or to be one that is watched. Hectic, sometimes rude service but always gracious proprietors. Squash soup was yummy, pasta not impressive - a bit dried on the edges and drenched in butter. Likely due to timing to get to the table, not a kitchen error. Bread stale but olive oil exceptional. Dessert was enormous but sort of a sugary mound of sugar on top of sugar - cake dry and cream center too sweet for me. But accompanying meringue was perfect.
All in all it’s always fun to take a friend who’s not a NYC veteran. Otherwise no one would believe the description of the Cipriani downtown crowd. Worth a one time visit for sure.
Consistently good food and service. Highly recommended.
Did not like the service from the Host and Servers.
It was a much better experience at Cipriani Wall Street
Very high energy scene. Noisy and crowded. Waited at the bar for an hour, even though we had reservations. Worth it! Every bite we put into our mouths was delicious, from appetizer to dessert. The server was delightful and gave us great advice.
Totally overpriced, rude and terrible table at the bathroom . If you want to spend this kind of money go straight to Sant Ambreous for 100x food quality, value and experience.
El servicio muy bueno, la comida impecable, el espacio reducido y un poco ruidoso.
The food was amazing service impeccable…
Very expensive for the quality of the food.... lots of show-off. Disappointed
A SOCIAL MEDIA HYPE THATS NOT WORTH A VISIT; After hearing about Cipriani and seeing the hype I wanted to see for my self what this was about. When we arrived no host/hostess met us, and we had to walk around to find someone to talk to. None of the servers could help us apparently… Then the host/manager tells us that we have to wait for 10 min for our table. We were on time and had already been looking for him for five minutes so that’s a little bit strange especially since they had two available tables. I asked for the available tables, but apparently they were reserved for a big party. Strange, since they 30 min in to our meal placed a couple there. The food was nothing special. We had the carpaccio, veal ragu, baked tagliatelle (ordered with ham, got one without ham) and lamb chops. None of the meats came with any kind of garnish or sides? Literally meat on a plate. Most boring thing I have ever eaten. The server didn’t check up on us once - we even poured our own wine, since they didn’t pay attention at all (tried to ask him for oil to my bread - he ignored me). We also asked to have the carpaccio as a starter, and the rest of the food as entree. Also this they failed, and the first dish on our table was a pasta dish… Terrible terrible terrible.
Great outdoor dining area. Elegant with a decent wine menu. However, my pasta was a bit overcooked and service was a little slow. If this wasn’t the case it’d be worth the $30+ plates. Great lamb chops though and overall a nice place for dinner
I made a reservation for Cipriani Downtown for tonight. I arrived punctually at 11:10 and after more than 10 minutes looking for a hostess I was introduced to Mr Frederico. I showed my reservation he asked me to wait a few minutes that would clear our table. I waited for 30 minutes and nothing! At every table he placed people without a reservation. When it had been 1 hour and another table wandered I asked if it was mine and he asked me to wait outside the restaurant because I was disturbing. It is now 12:40 am and I haven't had a table yet. I'm leaving the restaurant extremely humiliated and upset about this situation. I had only 3 nights in NYC and the last night I thought it would be special but I am extremely frustrated. I write this from inside the cab back to the hotel. You ruined my Saturday night. I will sue the restaurant and the Open Table website that made the reservation.
Made a reservation for 2 at 10:30 one wk in advance. Showed up at 10:26. Manager already gave several reserved tables away to what seems like celebrities since it was fashion wk. I understand that you had to accommodate your A list guests but to just brush the people who actually made reservations and showed up on time to the side; that’s unacceptable. He didn’t even offer a complimentary drink or something while we waited to the side for well over 45 minutes, until finally I had enough and left and went to Stk instead where the service is always good and dining is always a pleasure. Without service you have nothing, and for that i have to rate my experience at Cipriani an F.
Fantastic, wait staff and service was great. Food was exceptional and came out perfectly. Would visit again soon!
Pasta e fagioli amazing as always. The langoustines they serve are delicious. And the wagyu beef is the best you will find outside of Japan. Friendly, attentive and well-informed service rounds off the experience perfectly. Cipriani Downtown is on our list of places to visit whenever we visit New York - and will remain so !
One of the worst experiences I’ve had in NYC. Terrible, overpriced, shabby, pretentious.
Awesome food. Great service.
Food was great. Service was forgettable. Had to wait forever to get our check; water was not filled and they fill the space so you’re on top of other guests like a third rate hole in the wall. Next Time will go to the regular ciprianis in GCT or Wall Street.
Having booked a table at 21h:00 and did not Get a table until 22h:00 is not acceptable. When we arrrived they told us 20 mins delayed but no... and tables where packed together so we felt the table next to us - with 20-year olds- was a part Of our dinner out with friends. Also got the impression that they prioritized guests they knew.... and no great apologies and no free drinks or a cut from the bill.
Sad sad experience.
1 hour wait even with reservation, the manager put a lot of people that arrived later than us without reservAtion, really nice food and place but they don’t respect the reservations and wait lind
I never leave reviews, however, this was a repulsive experience. There was quite literally a female pimp calling out girls from the street to join their table of men. If they declined, she yelled out, “never reject man in public!” The management said/did nothing. I was embarrassed to sit there. Half the menu was “not available.” Best part of it all was the merengue cake.
Wonderful meal. We requested a pasta that was not on the menu and it was made to perfection. The Aperol Speitz had the perfect balance of Prosecco and Aperol.
Klasse Essen, tolle Stimmung
Bright lights. Overpriced, but food. Waiters rushed us. Tables jammed in.
We split three courses, starting with the artichoke salad, followed by pasta with veal ragu and then duck. All the food was excellent and the portions large, enabling us to skip dessert.
All in all, an excellent meal in an environment that allowed us to discuss things quietly.
I went out with my 2 nieces and we sat at the bar for a quick cocktail. When finished we were escorted to our table. The service was spot on. NYC professional wait staff.
I asked about the wine selection and received some help in choosing between 2. The wine was excellent but the wine glasses were small and clunky not what I expect at this venue. The meal was excellent and we finished with some decadent desserts. The entire experience was fun with a great energy reverberating at the venue. I will definitely be back!!
The food was great but service horrible.
Our server stopped paying attention to us in the middle of our meal, the busboy was embarrassed and was very apologetic and did what he could to make up for the situation (he got a tip)
Pay attention to your check and review it, the gratuity was already charged for a party of 3.
I would give it a second chance because the food was outstanding, the Artichoke avocado salad was AMAZING!
Atmosphere was terrific, great vibe, good and service
One of the best places in NY . Excelente food the best Bellini and Sergio the bar tender is superb. Don’t miss it
