Cipriani - Dolci Ratings and Reviews
intersting venue in Grand Central, fun, good service and convenient location if you need to catch a train or subway before or after. Food was diassapointing and not inexpensive......
On the assumption that the ‘kitchen’ gets its act together I would give it another try.
Great Italian food in iconic location, on balcony overlooking Grand Central terminal - we took the kids who immediately recognised it from Madagascar - ate early evening so the rush hour atmosphere was buzzing, delicious food with plenty of options for kids, would be lovely just for drinks too, gazing up at the station roof which is a starry sky full of constellations.
It is a great location above the main hall of Grand Central Terminal. The food is also good. But after getting the meal the service staff almost ignored us completely. Obviously there was some change in the staff, but this shouldn't happen in such a pricy restaurant.
The food was lukewarm.
The tables were small and didn't leave much room for the food or beverages. Very tight quarters to get around in for patrons and staff.
Menu seemed limited.
No seafood options outside of calamari.
Wait staff was attentive and pleasant.
Food was fresh and tasted great!
My son and I were going to a concert in the city and I made reservations at Cipriani Dolci since it sounded cool to eat in Grand Central overlooking the hustle and bustle. We were seated on time, service was perfect and the food was delicious. You don't get much for your money but it is, of course, NYC.
I would certainly recommend it and would return myself as well.
Not Worth it. My two co-workers and myself work in the MetLife Building and wanted to have lunch. We needed to change our table as we were directly over an air conditioning vent. The prices for lunch are way overpriced. $27 for a hamburger. Food was good, but not exceptional. Will not go back unless it's restaurant week. Service just so so.
I consider the price-quality (quantity) excessive. My friend had a club sandwich which came with too much mayonnaise and my entrée was OK, but I find it expensive for what it was (chicken and lettuce).
Also, the personnel is rather absent-minded. Maybe some training would be positive.
Great little place looking out over the main terminal, lots of fun to watch the people.
The service was impeccable, the food was simple but over the top tasty. I had homemade ravioli that was paper thin and had such an incredible taste that it makes my mouth water thinking about it! Looking forward to going again the next time we are in NYC.
We enjoyed lunch during NY restaurants week. While the choices were not as wide range as other participating restaurant, everything we had was delicious. The spinach ravioli was out of this world. Sitting above the hustle & bustle of GCT is a unique experience.
A restaurant that preserves the quality and class of the other Cipriani. A nice terrace overlooking the Central Station hall. We loved the atmosphere and the movement. We opted for the curry chicken (the best in the world), a very fresh tuna tartar and a gratin pasta. Finally, a glorious vanilla ice cream. I have been to the Cipriani in Venice, Miami, and NYC's 5th Avenue. All excellent.
This was last minute tie-in dinner following local a hospital visit. My wife and I had been several times to downtown location and thought to try Grand Central Station. The table was great and waiters very nice and food almost as good as downtown. GCS was quiet as its August and the ambiance was interesting and fun. I would guess it be a good spot for a luncheon meeting or similar but not so much for romantic ambiance.
