A good place to have a nice relaxed lunch in Grand Central Station. Service is very good, attentive. with an italian flair. The food is good too. I bit pricey for what it is, but overall is was pleasantly suprised.
The location is the big attraction as it's situated overlooking the concourse in Grand Central Station. The food and wine was good but not exceptional. It seems to be a place where people eat and go.
Food is good but host was a bit less welcoming than he could be and should be for a Cipriani (I’ve also had great hosts here so the issue is not consistent), and it really took far too long between courses during lunchtime. Some room to improve but a good, solid choice.
Lo único llamativo fue que llegamos a tiempo para mi reseca y la mesa no estaba lista, pero gente que llegó al mismo tiempo y sin reserva fue ubicada antes. Es decir, no tengo prioridad por hacer reserva?
Appalling. Do not waste your time or your money by visiting there. Staff are vile and useless. The place is a joke.
great spot to be in Grand Central- food very tasty but you pay $$ for the location. A special occasion treat- maybe better for drinks and snacks
Great venue and ambience. Service excellent and food very nice.
I ordered the scallops special. They were tasty, but half of them had sand. Since the waiter never asked how everything was, I didn't mention this until our plates were being cleared. For this reason I would rate the service low, and also my drink glass was taken away and I wasn't asked if I wanted another. (which I did) Scallops were $42, so for that price the service should be much better!
With Michael Jordan's kitchen being closed, this was a best alternative but I was not expecting such prices. Appetizers for $ 27?
However quality and service were excellent. I am warned.
We all had choices from the brunch menu and everything was great! Excellent bloody mary. great portions and good service! Very pleased!
An old friend was in town who I had not seen in a long time. We went to graduate school together -- when no one had money. I picked it for the NYC ambience, and the convenience of location. I love Grand Central -- always have. So it was great from that perspective. The service was good; prompt but not overwhelming. We had a long, leisurely lunch.
The food was -- ok. Too many bones in my fish. His chicken was -- ok. So not bad -- just not great. And it IS expensive for what one gets.
Did I get what I was looking for -- a long, leisurely lunch in a magnificent place? Yes. Would I go back? Probably not. Would I recommend? Only if the person was not really interested in the food.
I ordered a branzino, ok I guess. Not to the level one is accustomed at Cipriani.
Food and service were great.
Great service. Great Food.
A little pricey.
My husband and I had lunch on a weekday. We had a lovely time: attentive service, delicious food (carpaccio, tagliolini, burger, and vanilla meringue cake), and a nice table overlooking the main hall. It is pricey; however, this is a place to go for the overall experience, not if you are a foody.
Enjoying a meal inside Grand Central Station was an amazing experience, however, the service was less than superb. I made a reservation but our table was not set before hand. We did not receive the attention I felt our table deserved. The food was prepared well and was delicious.
Dolci has a great location in Grand Central with a wonderful view of the central hall and beautiful ceiling. The food was very good branzino, pasta amatriana, calamari and delicious wine. Great place to meet friends and chat.
We enjoyed our meal and our waiter and Giulia couldn't have been nicer! It was our first time there and we took friends visiting from Italy. What a great spot to watch the activities on the concourse!
Chiprini is always good . This is a fun spot overlooking Grand Central Station . It is not as fabulous as Harry Chiprini as the famous rolls and small frozen martinis are not available . It is a limited menu but the Pasta is great ! Remember this is a casual drop in type place !
The staff was amazing and very attentive, the food was amazing! Everything was perfect! Highly recommend!
A great location -- overlooking one of the most grand public spaces in NYC. The food is interesting and consistent, although not great. Also, a little over priced.
We really enjoyed the ambience , most of our food choices were very good. The lemon meringue pie was excellent
The food was awful. Salad was small, over-dressed and tasteless. Salmon was also tasteless. Tarte was too sweet and consistency was watery. All of it was overpriced. Wine is served in small glasses so you get about 1/4 glass. Service was ok.
Love the food, ambiance and service.
Nice break for lunch.
Good service at lunch in a very busy New York Location
The food and service were outstanding. I was meeting up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while and the table wasn't ready when we arrived but there was adequate room at the bar and friendly staff and neighbors.
I had high hopes for this place. However it was definitely OVERRATED. The salad I ordered was drenched in dressing. It was like eating soup instead of a salad, very off-putting. I didn't even know that was possible. The steak I order was over cooked and sitting in a pool of oil. Whatever technique they used to cook the meat, I was NOT a fan of. The steak looked like a piece of pork instead of beef. The best part was the drinks (although very mediocre) and the view overlooking the station. Awesome for people watching.
I expected the food to be more interestingly prepared. It wasn't poor tasting just not remarkable and there are many restaurants in the city offering better cuisine so I probably wouldn't go there again unless I wanted the view of the main concourse of Grand Central. They also prepared steak well done that had been requested medium rare but took it back and fixed it.
My only problem with this location was that it was by the street level door and you felt a really strong draft which made my toes numb. Everything else was great the ambience the location right in the middle of central station the food was great service was excellent
Good food served there，but service need to be improved.
Great food. Helpful waiter. Recognized but daughters birthday. Most deicios dessert ever
Had restaurant week menu, but we had a late reservation & by the that time we got there the menu was tired & wilted. Too bad for us. The Salmon tartare was sad & frisee garnish was wilted... hey just leave it off if it’s not up to service. The steak I had was over salted & only ordinary. Been to Cipriani before at Wall Street location & it was wonderful, just think we were too late to get the best from this location. If they can’t keep up the menu to the end of service... don’t serve it. Sets me as customer to on edge that I can’t count on quality whenever I choose to come. This was unfortunate because I had a guest from out of town & they were not impressed even though in a lovely setting they thought the food “very ordinary”. Next time I’ll forget “restaurant week”.
convenient for metro north commuters, food good, service good, prices a bit high but not crazy.
It was fine. Salad and homemade ravioli were excellent. Cake was beautiful but blah tasting. Being in Grand Central was fun and being Restaurant Week made it fine. Regular prices are very high for location. I think wine glass price was high for location (even for Manhattan) and charging for coffee in prix fix meal was unexpected.
Always a favorite
Extremely expensive for the food and quality
Not enough heating
Excellent food and service!
Food was just not of any presentation for the value
