Cipollini Trattoria and Bar Ratings and Reviews
Dined with a dear friend for the purpose of catching up after many years. Everything was excellent. We were the last ones to leave. Not rushed to finish our food, not rushed to leave - even when nearing closing time. Food was outstanding. The best non-fried calamari I've every had!
Had a reservation for lunch . They said 25 min for outside table . We waited 45 min and still ended up indoors because we couldn't wait any longer. This was only for lunch . We kept checking in and they kept saying 5-10 more minutes. Well we were quite annoyed and inconvenienced. They didn't even give us a free beverage or anything to compensate.
Food was delicious, but waiter ignored us all evening. Saw that we were not going to be an expensive table and disregarded us the rest of the night. Slow to check on our table, table was not even fully set when we sat down, and the waiter tossed the check onto the table at the end of our meal like we were animals. Took over 10 minutes for our check to be collected to pay, and even then, we had to ask another waiter to run the card because our waiter walked by 4-5 times without picking up the book.
I have been before and always enjoyed the experience. The last time I went on a Wednesday evening around 6pm because I was going to a concert after. The restaurant was not very crowded at the time. The 2 maitre d's made us wait a good 5-7 minutes while they discussed a seating chart before they even acknowledged we were standing there. When they finally did they acted like we didn't have a resevation, which I did, and were annoyed they would have to find a table for us. They then handed the menus to a waiter and said seat them. The entire time we were there the maitre d personally seated each table. I'm not sure why the attitude when we waited patiently and the only conversation was to give the reservation name and state party of 2.
Our waiter was friendly until he found out we weren't drinking any alcohol beverages. We asked a few questions re menu but he didn't tell us about the daily specials. We only saw him when he took our order and brought us the bill. We sat outside and we noticed he was more accommodating to his regulars than to us. Don't know if I would come back. I like to feel special when I'm in a pricy restaurant!!
We had a 7:30 PM reservation. Matadee forgot about us and after reminding him twice nicely were seated @ 8:30 PM. Than promised us a commentary pizza which never arrived @ our table. Food & wine was fabulous BUT matradee has too many regulars he takes care of and forget about any New customers.
Too much of a screen of people trying to be seen too.
