I've been here for lunch and it was ok. Dinner last night was way below expectation. I came for the Linguini and Mussels which wasn't on the menu. I had two items off of the appetizer list: Mussels and Arancini. The mussels were cold as if they had been cooked before hand and sitting around and the sauce was bla. The arancini is fried balls of rice (also premade and cold). Very dry and tasteless. My date had the Bolognese which tasted like the smoked brisket it was made from. If I want bbq I'll go to a bbq joint. Very kid friendly and low prices.
Cipollina is one of our favorite spots! We've been here more times that I can count because of the atmosphere, service, and reasonably-priced food and wine. Horacio is our favorite waiter, and Jaylen (the host) is super nice as well. The only complaint we've ever had is the noise level (especially on a weekend night). It is VERY difficult to hear your companions. All they would need to do is add some sound dampening surfaces (walls and ceilings), which would make this restaurant so much more comfortable. All in all, we love it!
Love the salads, because they're not over dressed and love the Shrimp Scampi. I order it without the breadcrumbs, it's a texture thing for me.
We went to celebrate my wife's birthday and had a delicious meal at Cipollina. Food was extra-delicious, service was very good, and they offered a complimentary desert of her choice. She picked the cheesecake and says it was the best cheesecake she has EVER had. Has the feel of a neighborhood place, and many of the patrons seemed to know each other. All in all, a very pleasant experience, one we will definitely repeat.
Food came very fast, Service was great and the food was even better!
They had great food and great service.
What a great place for a business lunch! I'll definitely be back. Staff was attentive. Quiet enough for conversation. Great food. I enjoyed the steak sandwich and a side of grilled brussels sprouts. Not hard to park if you arrive at 11:45.
Very nice food and atmosphere!
It was so fun. W went for Easter brunch. The mimosas were wonderful, the veggies outstanding and the service was attentive and prompt. We will definitely be back.
WE love Cipollino's and consider ourselves so blessed to have this cheerful Italian bistro in our neighborhood and in walking distance! We go regularly and enjoy our favorites such as the aroncino, meatballs, calamari, white bean puree, caesar and arugula salads, red snapper, bolegnese pasta, all of the pizzas and the roasted chicken! The staff are amazing - Zach, Horacio, Kim and everyone there work hard to make your meal a memorable one. Thank you, Cipollino's!
Great food! Great service! The place was a little loud. They had the best cheesecake we’ve ever had!
Great food..- tad dark inside on such a nice day. However.. a great spot!
Four of us enjoyed a great dinner after a basketball game. We arrived 45 minutes before our reservation and were seated within 15 minutes. Service, atmosphere and food were great.
Great location, good wine selection, and the food was great. A wonderful menu we all found something we wanted. The service was attentive and friendly.
Best meatballs ever! Authentic! Pizza burned.
Great home made pasta and amazing sauces
For a large party and us adding 3 more to it after we arrive, the staff was very accommodating. Made us feel welcome. Food was absolutely delicious for everyone. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in Austin.
We found it was very easy to converse while eating delicious Italian food. The reason for this is placement of acoustical material underneath the tables. Smart! So many restaurants are too noisy. The portions were a satisfying size. A good value.
A warm, friendly neighborhood restaurant. Reminiscent of ones in the north end of Boston. Food was absolutely delicious and extremely reasonably priced.
We made a reservation for 8pm on a Saturday night. We arrived on time, but had to stand by the door and wait 20 minutes for our table. The food was just so-so. The place was very noisy, difficult to hear your dining partners without almost shouting. Service was ok, the waiter was friendly, but very busy. Might be better off peak hours, but the food wasn't good enough to bring me back.
There's reason you need a reservation on the weekends and it's definitely worth it. We always have great service and the food is delicious every time.
Really nice neighborhood restaurant! A good option if you want something that is outside of the normal downtown options. Really friendly atmosphere and really nice food.
Food was very good - great service -parking only issue
The food was fine. We particularly enjoyed the garlic knots. The Caesar salad was not good. It was so loud that it was difficult to carry on a conversation at a table of 6 people. I wouldn’t recommend this for an event or intimate dinner. However, I can see why people would like it for a weeknight bite in the neighborhood.
Super attentive staff and amazing food. The ideal combination. Absolutely loved the Bolognese.
Amazing valentines dinner!!
We loved it!! Excellent food! We will go again for sure
Great local, neighborhood restaurant; lunch or dinner; a little loud; wood fired oven pizza; good wine list
Everything was great except for the noise level. I couldn’t hear the person sitting next to me. I couldn’t wait to leave. I just need to remember to go at off hours.
Only one Pinot Grigio choice on menu
This is a great little Italian restaurant! It's not a very large place, so you will want to get a reservation in advance. I had the spinach alfredo gnocchi, and I would highly recommend if it's still on the menu!
Great for special occasions, or friends getting together. Good restaurant to have a great meal without being overpriced.
A great neighborhood spot and one of the best Italian dinners in town! Excellent service, too. Get the Brussels sprouts!
Great food! Would recommend to anyone for a date.
So good and so yum. Just so loud!
This is our go-to neighborhood restaurant. The food is consistently good and the wine list is reasonable. Love the prosciutto pizza with arugula! Delicious. Good Caesar salad as well. The service is always excellent. We absolutely love our waitress there. She's the best!
I have been eating at Cipollinas for years. I just love the feel of the restaurant, so warm. The food is always satisfying. Just a pleasant place to eat.
Wonderful neighborhood gem! Very reasonable prices, great selection, creatively prepared.
Sat at the bar. Waitress was great and funny. Service was prompt.
My husband and I went for an early dinner before the symphony we had a wonderful meal. Since it was our 21st anniversary our waiter brought us a complimentary creme brulè, yummy! One of our favorite places in Austin for a quiet meal.
We went for new years eve. The set menu was very good. I had Cod. Cod is either good or awful. I was happy taht they did a good job.
