Starting from our server Marion to the chef who wrote "Happy Birthday" on the complimentary dessert to the owner Pino and his brother, they are all friendly, approachable and treats their customers/patrons like family. This is not easy to achieve; well done!!
Our reservation was for 5pm and we ended up being the only guests in the restaurant for the first 45 minutes. It was amazing! The service was great and the food delicious. Such an amazing experience. We felt like the restaurant was ours for that short while. I highly recommend the foie gras appetizer, pappardelle with veal cheek and the lobster heaven. And please do yourself the favor of saving room for the lava cake at the end. The chef makes his own chocolate. What?! Worth it. We will definitely be back!
Great evening
As usual we had a great time. The service was outstanding and they remembered us from the last time we came & also our preferences and needs. We loved the food and the wine.
We were here from Washington, DC for a work meeting. This was a recommendation from someone who lives in Vancouver. The dishes were delicious!
i dine out often and must say that Cioppino's is overall in top 3 restaurants in Vancouver.
Most certainly the best service in the city.
The food was absolutely wonderful! The only complaint that I would have is that our server could not recommend us any wines to go with our meal which I found disappointing since this restaurant values wine so highly.
Went here for my girlfriend’s 25th Birthday and it was amazing. The service was outstanding and the food was so good. Our waiter did not let our glasses of water go empty the entire night we were there, same with the bread. I will definitely come back again and gladly recommend this place to family and friends!
They also offered an extensive specials menu which we had pork that the chef spent 2.5 days making. It was the most delicious piece of pork I have ever had! I don’t normally take photos of my food but I took a picture of the pork :) The pasta dishes were all delicious and the staff were very knowledgeable with their menu. The chef also came out and spoke to the customers which was really nice. I would definitely go back and recommend the restaurant to my friends and family.
I’ve been wanting to check out Cioppino’s forever and finally got the chance last night. We sat on the Enoteca side, which I actually found to be cozier and quieter so really enjoyed it. It was hard to choose from the menu because everything sounded delicious! Eventually I tried the smoked salmon appetizer (a special) and the spaghetti alla vongole. The salmon was cold smoked wonderfully and came with a variety of delicious sauces. The spaghetti was al dente—by the last few bites it felt a bit rich but the flavour was exactly what I’d expected. Two others at my table had the fettuccine bolognese and it was absolutely perfect. For dessert, we shared the milk chocolate panna cotta and the lemon tart—almost licked the plate clean on both! The only place I’ve had a lemon tart even close to as good has been at Lupo where they do a bit a of a brûlée on top. Our server was also great: knowledgeable about all the food, gave us recommendations and joked with us all night. Overall, would definitely recommend Cioppino’s and can’t wait to go back for more!
A truly world-class restaurant. It would be a gem in any of the great cities in Europe.
As always, impeccably fresh ingredients and preparation. Every time we visit is an event for us.
Our server Jesse was terrific and the meal was delicious , definitely will be back to try other dishes.
Cioppino’s is one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver. The excellent food, service and ambience all come together beautifully and make for a memorable night out!
Awesome experience, terrific and thoughtful classics
Everything was delicious, everyone was friendly, food and service was excellent all round
Dinner was great, service from Paulo amazing and made our night even more enjoyable.
For table for two try and get a location off the main corridor.
We had an amazing experience!!!!! Food was perfect, service just outstanding! Defenely coming back and very recommend.
This is my 3rd time visiting Cioppino's and once again was not disappointed. I had recommended to friends that we visit while in Vancouver, and they were impressed with the food, service and atmosphere.
My wife had duck it was superb, I had a very rich osso buco with risotto, I commented that I thought the risotto was not as rich and creamy as expected, rather then ignore my comment the chef explained he did that on purpose because it would conflict with the rich sauce on the osso buco, he then made both my wife and I a creamy risotto! Very impressive, someone who really cares about his food!
The food was delicious! The service was outstanding! We absolutely loved our experience
Wonderful service, amazing wine list, can't miss. Recommended
For a restaurant that was rated 33 in the top 50 in Canada, we were disappointed. There were some highlights, a lovely porcini and chestnut soup and a very good veal chop special. While the pasta in the lobster ravioli special was very tender, it was hard to recognize the flavour as lobster (more fishy than anything). The duck two ways was over-cooked to our liking. Nice ambiance and an extensive wine list. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Too bad for a much anticipated birthday dinner out.
I love coming to Cioppino's because of the family atmosphere. Its a place where you can enjoy the company of your friends and family and enjoy some amazing food. You're not limited to whispering or speaking softly as every table is enjoying and laughing loudly. The food itself is amazing. I highly recommend any of their tomato based sauces - they taste fresh and have lots of vibrant flavours. Their lobster bisque is also a favourite of mine.
Definitely very good and authentic Italian food and as such perfect definitely on the fancy side ambiance as well. One of the owners was continually checking on food and service and experience of customers . Both he and the expert waiter made us feel welcome, attended to, and made it an extra special dinning experience along with the great food
Appetizers were fantastics, entrees authentic Italian with an added flourish. And the best cannolis in a very long time ! We will go again next time we are in Seattle and want great Italian food . PS The basil ricotta gnocchi was delicious, unusual , light and a bit over salted -No need for the added parmesan offered, infact would suggest to chef: you don't need as much salt in this otherwise excellent recipee. ( I declined the Parm and was still too salty but yes good, and fantastic food all around for our party.
Very good food and service. Mark up on wine prices seemed to be very high.
Wonderful food. Great service. The foie gras appie was one of the best I have ever eaten.
Had a great time and an amazing experience. Knowledgable service staff made for an enjoyable dining experience.
Excellent food. Everything we had was delicious. Wine list is PAGES long! Prosciutto di Parma with charred bread was excellent. Bread made just like Nonna's. Also had the special salad, heirloom tomatoes with fresh Dungeness crab and avocado, which was very nice and light. For entrees we had Rib-eye “alla Toscana and Roasted Rack of Lamb - both done to perfection. Shared a gnocchi as a middle dish. The special dessert and cappuccinos to finish. Ordered too much (only because there was so much we wanted to taste) to finish so I ended up taking home half of my entrée. My guest finished everything. Our server didn't steer us wrong - everything he suggested from wine to dessert was excellent. He was a bit of an "old Italian" curmudgeon but he knew his stuff. Lots of staff and helpers who were very nice were part of the serving team that assisted us. Would highly recommend Cioppino's!
Superb and lived up to its reputation.
Took my girlfriend here on a visit to Vancouver after I recalled seeing it on Anthony Bourdain's television show. Absolutely phenomenal food and service. The food was excellent, modern Italian with local ingredients. Our waiter's recomwndations on food and wine were spot on and it refreshing to be served by someone who is a professional as opposed the 20 something's waiting tables while they wait to find a career.
Dinner was superb! The service was magnificent. The ambiance was not ruined by overly loud music which seems typical in Vancouver restaurants. Overall, the experience was first rate.
Excellent food. Wonderful service from our waiter. Had heard good things about this place and it didn't disappoint. Everything rated fresh, flavorful and was cooked to perfection. Veal Pizzaiola, Cioppino, Pasta Bolognese, stuffed squash blossoms - all delicious!
Food was absolutely delicious! Came here for a small gathering with my girlfriend who was from New York. She absolutely loved the truffled pasta.
As usual the food was excellent, and memorable. Every dish was superb, from the appetizers to the dessert. The service was impeccable, and we had a wonderful time for our 19th anniversary celebration!
We enjoyed very excellent food and great service. Our waiter was fantastic and authentic.
Really outstanding in every way, Cioppino is the whole package - food, service, ambience. Thought Blue Water Cafe was my favorite meal in Vancouver, but this surpassed it. A must visit. Thank you for graciously accommodating food allergies. We will be back!
Fantastic!
We celebrated a birthday there. It was a first time experience for all of us. The staff were wonderful and very attentive. Cannot rave enough about our food that evening. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Found the portions to be very generous. Will definitely return and will recommend it to friends
my experience was extravagant, the service and food was outstanding.
