Wonderful ambiance, service and food!
This was always our ‘Go-to’ spot for delicious brunch and drinks. Something has definitely changed dramatically here over the past few months. Food was just okay. Service was friendly, but not competent or efficient. All the tables around us were saying the same. Cinquecento is not what it used to be. Sad.
Love the food
The food and drinks are good but the service is too rushed. On a Saturday night you don‘t want to get the food served 5 minutes after drinks and bread are served. Please give guests some time to enjoy conversation and a night out.
Seems like a place for a younger (< 35 ) crowd. We were there on a Friday night and there was VERY loud music at the bar which carries into the dining area. Intention is for good and quick service, but effect was rushing more appropriate to a greasy spoon diner. Appetizers arrived with main course, though server did remove appetizer from bill. Not for me, but if you don't want quiet conversation, could be okay.
Great food and service in attractive setting. Nice but very noisy atmosphere. Free parking, what's not to like?
Excellent bar service while waiting for 5pm reservation, chose the flank steak dish on the Dine Out Boston menu, and pears for dessert. All of it delicious. Jason was an excellent waiter and the ambiance was welcoming! Will definitely go back - Jean
Great food. Good pour. Exciting selection of dishes. Classy feel with good ambiance. Validated parking at adjacent lot adds convenience and accessibility.
Will definitely be back.
We made an amazing meal out of many appetizers. We created our own tasting menu. It was a great way for us first timers to experience a lot of what your chef offers. We will definitely be back.
Great ambience, great appetizers, main course (mushroom pasta) and desserts slightly disappointing. Still generally a really nice place.
Solid food, very friendly service and validated parking lot right next door is a bonus!
My boyfriend and I came in this past Saturday to celebrate our anniversary. Upon arriving, we found out that our reservation was at 6pm instead of 6:45 so we had missed our time slot! What would’ve been a devastating moment was quickly saved by the gracious staff who were incredibly accommodating and had us seated in minutes!! They seated us in a corner booth and were quick to bring over water and bread while we pondered over the delicious menu. Drinks arrived quickly after ordering and so we placed our orders for our main course. Eventually our food came but not without our waiter coming over...with complimentary champagne to apologize for the wait and to congratulate our anniversary!! (It didn’t seem like the food took a long time but maybe we were just deep into our conversation lol). The food was delicious, the service was incredible, and the atmosphere was perfect whether you’re looking for a night out with friends or a romantic dinner for 2! We will DEFINITELY be coming back :)
The meal was very good and the ambiance was great. Unfortunately we felt rushed from the moment we got there. We had a reservation for a early dinner (5:30). We were the first guest to arrive. Our waiter although friendly was, from my opinion only interested in how fast he could serve us to get another seating in. We had to ask for water refills twice nor did He clear away unused wine glasses which made for a crowded table since we had ordered other drinks. The waiter hovered over us waiting for us to order. Our appetizer plates were whisked away with food still on them before we could stop him. Dinner was great! We ordered cappuccino and gelato which I was enjoyed immensely. However before I finished my coffee the waiter whisked away my cup containing the delicious froth I had savored. We realized we had overstayed our welcome. As we were sliding out of the booth the wait staff had flocked around us like vultures and began clearing the table making it impossible for me to get out of the booth. Bottom line food was great, loved the ambiance but won’t be going back due to very poor service.
The combination of dishes we ordered was perfect. Tuscan kale salad has an amazing dressing with truffle honey, the fettucini with mushrooms were heavenly, and the branzino was so flavorful.
Friday/Saturday food is better than the other days...
After not going to Cinquecento for a couple years because of mediocre food and even worse service, my wife and two friends tried it recently because we had heard good things about the restaurant with the arrival of a new chef (formerly at the now-closed Erbaluce in Bay Village). We were very impressed! The pastas (norcina, funghi, and bolognese) were all fresh and delicious, as was the salmon and arugula salad. Warm, comfortable ambience in the space, combined with energetic, friendly service made for a really nice night out. Cinquecento is definitely back on our list!
It was an off night. Food was still great but they seemed extremely short handed and they had run out alot of items. Hopefully it was a one-off experience.
good time held by our guests, thanks Willy for an enjoyable afternoon. JT
Place is incredible and for 10$ parking on site well worth it. Will be going back frequently.
Excellent food! I love the high-quality veg options - artichokes, burrata, mushroom pasta, oh my!
I've been there for brunch, first time for dinner. exceeded my expecations
Professional service, romantic setting, delicious food,
We went for Valentine’s Day dinner. They really did a great job of keeping the reservations on time. We did get sat at the bar which was alright but couldn’t complain because we booked our reservations last minute. They still made the dinner feel romantic and we still had an awesome meal
Always amazing food and excellent service! Grilled octopus, Branzino and bolognese are our favorites!
Such a great experience - great food, fun drinks, delicious desserts! Just what we wanted for an evening with friends.
Lovely great ambiance great service
Perfect date night with great service and food! The cocktails were a little weak but food was excellent.
Went here for an early Valentine's dinner with my sweetie. The room is beautiful, the food, simple yet sophisticated Italian, and delicious, the staff was attentive and friendly. Everything was great!
We had a nice pre theater dinner here. Arrived early- 6 pm- for bar seating but took a table in the bar area, we likely could have sat almost anywhere, hostess was very accommodating on letting us pick a table, which was appreciated. I had a nice glass of pinot noir, mussels appetizer, sautéed spinach and the clam pasta dish, which we split.
We had another fish appetizer with baby lettuces that was pretty good. Mussels were good, fresh, good amount, the sauce or broth was little spicy, though we dipped a lot of bread in it. pasta was quite good, i don't order pasta out much but I recommend it. sautéed spinach was good, nice garlic bite which i always enjoy. For dessert we had gelato scoops, good, simple, plenty. waiter was great, seasoned pro who knew how to provide service without being cloying, he was always there at the appropriate time, and the place was busy by 7. Recommended, for 2 but might be better for 4 or more. I'd go back.
We sat in a booth and it was quiet enough that we could talk without screaming! The food was traditional Italian and very nice, the specials a bit inventive. the Italian Wedding Soup was terrific.
Great ambience, good food. Bit overpriced. Service is rough.
Food was great, service was perfect, our only problem was the noise level, however that wouldn't hold us back from many return visits. Thanks
Cinquecento is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. It’s perfect for all sorts of occasions - and the free parking is a huge plus!
Our reservation was for 8:00 pm on a Saturday evening and we got seated right away. By the time we paid our bill it was 10:00 p.m. The service was very slow. I noticed that all the other people that got seated around the time that we did also were there for about two hours. Coincidentally, our neighbors were there the same night but a little earlier. They said their service was also very slow. This is probably not the fault of the waiters but more due to the way the restaurant is being managed. I recommend that you improve the timeliness for serving the drinks and food.
Good food. Great waiter. Hos
Great place for a nice dinner with your spouse or with a larger group.
Brunch was bad. There is a reason it’s easy to get a table here on weekends, and it’s because the food and service are both poor
We had a wonderful time but the noise level is unbearable. The food was good. Service was not impressive.
We were there fo lunch and maybe 5-6 tables were seated but it took a very long time to get our food. Luckily we were catching up with our friends and not starving but it was very bizarre for the kitchen to take so long.
I’ve been to Cinquecento many times, and always have a wonderful experience. This time was different – my ravioli and side of Brussels sprouts just did not taste good. The sprouts in particular didn’t taste fresh. My fiancé loved his pasta, and the kale salad is always good. I left disappointed with my meal, however!
