They were out of bread and several other dishes. Service was very slow. One of the main courses had a sharp piece of plastic in it. The person luckily caught it when he started to chew the bite of food he took. They randomly brought drinks we didn't order. We assume they were as compensation for the slow service, but that was never explained (we didn't get charged for them). Overall the experience was lacking especially compared to previous visits.
Music was very loud, our Main Server didn’t really pay attention to us. Didn’t check back or refill coffee.
Came here for our Girl’s Christmas celebration. The food was excellent and our surfer was very attentive and friendly. We were surprised that they were out of bacon at 11 am on a Sunday but the rosemary ham was delicious! Everyone ordered something different and no one was disappointed.
Been here many times. Good service, fun ambiance, and a nice wine list. I was disappointed by the cacio y pepe contorni, as it tastes like bland plain spaghetti. The cheese and salumi tray came out missing one cheese. So, stay with tried and true faves like Bolognese, prosciutto wrapped veal, or branzino. Panna cotta was a nice way to end the meal. I’d definitely recommend but don’t be experimental with what you order!
Had a wonderful meal. Shared the octopus starter with my husband, shared the kale salad which we both loved, and shared the linguini ala vongole. Even sharing, we had enough and everything tasted wonderful.
Basic american-italian food, somewhat overcooked, a lot of sauce, not warm enough. Slow service, although not very crowded at 7:30pm on a workday.
Waited for 25 minutes to be seated WITH a reservation. No updates from staff - Had to ask ourselves what was happening. As someone who used to host in restaurants, I found this unacceptable. Drinks are not inventive. Pasta was okay, but nothing like Copa down the street, despite being the same price. In general, overpriced with bad service. Despite being in our neighborhood, we we likely not return. quality has been declining for some time now.
I miss the veal cutlet :(
Always a good experience eating here. The food is well prepared and professionally served in a comfortable atmosphere.
Worst service ice had in a long time. Waitress was terrible- didn’t bring extra plates as requested to share appetizers. Took silverware away and didn’t bring clean silverware back. They “lost” our meal ticket for the main course. It took an extra hour and a half to have dinner. The manager came over to apologize and comp us a glass of wine but I could really care less about that...I wanted to eat! They were not very busy- not even 1/3rd full. I like the food but very, very awkward experience.
Dinner was great. Server did the best he could to suggest dairy free options. Wish there were a few more. But delighted to find this place and my friends could not stop raving about the octopus. Wish the directions were a little clearer sense we got a little lost on Harrison Avenue until we realized that the restaurannt was threw the arcade. But other than that We were delighted. Wish there had been some gluten-free crackers or bread to go with all of the salamis and some of the goat and sheep cheese. But essentially a great find in our neighborhood thanks for a good evening
We had a lovely, quick birthday dinner before going to the theatre. We were there at a slow point, and the food arrived very quickly, which was fine with us. The staff was attentive, and made sure the birthday girl's sorbet sported a flaming candle. It was a first experience there for two of our guests, and they were impressed, vowing to return.
Amazing food and server.
We enjoyed a drink at the bar, then sat in a booth and had a wonderful meal. Service was very attentive and would recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
Diego was excellent. He figured out it was my sons Birthday & surprised him with a candle.
I was pleasantly surprised by Cinquecento! It was more contemporary and lively than o expected. The food was incredible! The portions were not huge, but worth it.
Food was excellent
Waiter very helpful
Drinks were delicious. The host asked me 3 times what my name was when looking up our reservation. Took longer than expected to locate our reservation. Apps (mussels and ricotta) were great. Took a very long time for our food to arrive to our table. It looked as though our meals had been ready for a long time, got cold, and then reheated. Expected a lot more from this place based on reviews and price. Carbonara had no flavor and the consistency of the sauce was in line with what happens when it gets cold and then reheated. I would consider going back again.
Our bartender Santie, was fantastic. He went above and beyond to make the experience great.
The food was also excellent.
We love Cinquecento for the amazing comfort food with some healthy selections too. Fun atmosphere for inside dining or outside as well. It is a family favorite.
Wonderful as always
Drinks were small not much booze. Food portions were small, was still hungry when we left the restaurant! I hate that! It’s not cheap. The food was tasty.
Food is great though a bit pricey. Great ambiance. Hostess was a little slow and seemed uninterested. Waitress was fantastic.
I ordered sea bass with braised endive and mushrooms. I shared Burratta for a first course. The food was delicious. I would have liked it better if it had been quieter.
Loved it amazing food and atmosphere
Jammed tables. Extremely loud and close feeling. Food was good but service was lackluster.
Always really good
Always really good
Always really good
One of the better restaurants that I have been to in Boston.
The pulpo was absolutely fantastic?
Food was great, our server was the best.
Unfortunately, apparently there was an event on the 1st floor, and that's why we were told the food took so long to be ready and come to our table. Not a good excuse... Get organized, then.
Mediocre food. The pastas of everyone in our party of seven were insipid, bland, tasteless. Disappointing experience. Service was competent.
The food here was so good! I had the ravioli de ricotta and it was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was excellent from beginning to end. Loved the glass and a half wine option. I usually don't do dessert, but the Zeppole and Panna Cotta alone would have been worth the visit.
Had to wait a long time to get the elevator for my handicapped friend...there was no one to run it
No bathroom on second floor and my handicapped friend had to walk down the stairs and run the elevator herself to get back
Restaurant says handicapped accessible but it really isn't
Took over 1/2 hour to get our entrees....the waiter said it was because of the chicken dish...which was nothing special, but I think he forgot to put the order in
Despite all that we loved the free parking so close to the restaurant and the ambiance and the food
We will be back
Waitress was struggling. Screwed up the order. Talked a lot. Didn’t catch social queues.
Cinquecento is just very good. Of particular note: service is always superb. On our last visit we were helped by Jeisson who's just very, very good at what he does. Friendly, genuine, attentive but not obsessive, anticipates everything. Outstanding. And yes, the food was terrific too. But the service at Cinquecento really makes it very special. Thank you Jeisson!
Food is terrific. I've been many times and it's gotten better recently going from very good to excellent.
Love this place, but they were not on their game this time. Our waitress looked like she could have cared less about anything. Asked for tea- they didn’t have any. It was brunch!! There were 4 of us so we ordered 4 ricotta fritters- she didn’t bother telling us that each order came with 2 so we had too many. Then when we asked to wrap the remaining fritters they forgot to bring them back to the table until we asked and our waitress blamed it on someone else even though she had the bag with her at the computer. Very odd. Disappointed because this is one of our favorite spots, but don’t think we’ll be rushing back for brunch.
Very impressed with our dinner tonight. Great service, they have a lot of staff and are well trained. A watchful eye is kept on the table from management, bussers, waitstaff. Dishes cleared properly, utensils replaced when used. The private parking lot, offered complimentary, is a welcome perk of choosing to dine here... a real luxury. I hope that never changes.
Everyting we ordered... perfectly cooked, served hot, delicious. The charred beef carpaccio, veal saltimboca, pasta bolognese, roast salmon... and panna cotta for dessert.
Our waitress, Natalia, was awesome.
Love it here!
The food and atmosphere was AMAZING. I can’t recommend this place enough and will most def be coming back. Also they provide parking tickets which is INCREDIBLE
Past visits have been wonderful and we especially love the patio dining. Maybe we hit a bad night because the service was poor. Two out of the 4 entrees were average. We spoke to the manager and hope that our next visit will be more enjoyable since this is usually a neighborhood favorite.
