We love this restaurant and go quite often. When ordering the prix fixe menu there always seems to be a lag between the primo and the secondo-- too long a wait, really-- Wish they could fix that! Otherwise it was another fabulous meal!

We were pleasantly surprised to see they had a Date Night special menu on Fridays in the Enoteca. Delicious and reasonable 3 course dinner and bottle of wine! Generous portions. We'll be back.

Lovely space, excellent service. Great selection of Italian wines. Food variable time to time, sometimes outstanding and other times average. They often don’t get the fineness of meat and fish right. Vegetarian options limited. Presentation great, but often tastes too rich.

A fantastic evening of friends, wine, food and more wine. Half price wine night is a great opportunity to hit their fantastic wine list hard and save a bit of money. Service and food were excellent as usual, and we had some really nice wine. Plan ahead -- be safe and Uber home.

Has your server ever opened your bottle of wine and poured the first sip for himself, WITHOUT your permission, almost surreptitiously? I suspect the answer is "NO", unless you are dining at the Foreman/Wolf restaurant Cinghiale. There, it is standard practice. It's horribly rude, pretentious, arrogant and without cause, especially when your server can't tell you anything about the bottle of wine, its region, its flavor pattern or its vintage, and starts the charade by bringing you the wrong bottle (which happened to be double the price of the one ordered). Could you imagine your server placing your food on the table and taking a bite of each dish, without your permission? How about tasting your cocktail? Why then the Foreman/Wolf crew think it's acceptable to taste your bottle of wine is an ongoing mystery; it isn't justified unless the patron lodges a complaint about the wine. Itdetracts from the evening. Could it be worth turning a blind eye and chalking it up to an elitist style? Maybe, if the food was as impeccable as it portends to be; maybe if the server tells you before the stolen sip that for purposes of constantly monitoring their wine stock, they would like to taste it. In that case, shouldn't the sommelier be the one tasting? Shouldn't this be the customer's choice? Expectations ran high for the food, especially in light of the egregious wine tasting game. Yet the pasta (squid ink pasta with grilled calamari, Fresno chili, lemon zest, garlic, chives) was mushy with a few pieces of flavorless squid, 2 paper thin rings of Fresno chili and no discernible lemon, garlic or chives - instead the mush sat in a pool of unsalted butter. Equally disappointing was the spaghetti alla chitarra, shrimp, capers, white wine, and garlic...which had 3 limp, tasteless shrimp and even mushier pasta...and the remainder of the butter from the other pasta. Any high points? Ironically enough, the wine was delicious. The rest of the night was regrettable.

Service was a 10 from the minute our group of 7 walked in the door. We started with the Chef's selection plate and Antipasta Misti plater. Some had small pasta dishes with Entrees while others had the full portion pasta - no one left hungry. Every bite was perfect: the gnocchi, Casunsei, duck and Cinghiale strip were stand outs!

My all-time fave Italian restaurant in the city! It never disappoints; worth the drive from the county. Terrific food/service and great for people watching--mixed ages and lively clientele. Love, love, love their food. Far & away delightful place to dine; so much better than Balto.'s 'little Italy' offerings!

Birthday dinner. The food was outstanding. We had the prix fix, which at $62 was a bargain for this kind of dining: the quality of the food, the quantity and the service level. While these were allegedly ''small portions', they were just fine, at least for me. Salads were terrific - it was difficult to choose which one to order and they did not disappoint. On the server's recommendation, I had a "lasagna'' which other than being layered with thin terrific pasta, bore no resemblance to what most people think of with lasagna. It was sensational. I had rockfish (Maryland-ese for striped sea bass) - perfectly prepared. My wife had the short rib - fall off the bone delicious. Finished with shared sorbets - all wonderful and I am an ice cream/sorbet snob. This would have been 5's all around except for a few minor quibbles. There was one food miss, the Broccoli Mascarpone soup way too salty and uninteresting . The server had recommended the butternut squash soup and we should have taken her recommendation . Service was impeccable to start, but as the evening went on (and the restaurant was hopping) it slowed a bit too much. Out of town visitors - this is a treat.

Had no preconceived ideas about this restaurant, but wanted to try a new restaurant that was a step up from everyday Italian. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant and were delighted with the warm welcome we got when we arrived. They were aware that we were there for a special occasion. The menu was a bit difficult to understand, but our server, Allessandro offered an explanation of each dish about which we had questions...the same for the wine. He was outstanding in every way!! The food was excellent with a beautiful presentation. The service was wonderful. We look forward to dining there again .

Well my wife and I really want to love this place. We try Cinghiale just about every year and this may in fact be our last.
We love the idea - a North Italian brasserie with an extensive wine list; the setting can’t be beat; and the physical restaurant is beautiful.
Our seating was great and comfortable.
Th service is simply outstanding.
The menu was varied and described in detail by what seemed the most knowledgeable server I’ve had in years.
So what’s the problem? There are two.
1) the food
For whatever reason the food does not correspond at all to the deliciousness of how it sounds on the the menu. While sauces and flavors are mentioned, they don’t translate onto the plate, or are there as whispers and droplets and reductions or tiny smears on the side or buried under the pasta, main course whatever.
Our pasta was warm and clumpy on cool plates, and no sauce or oil was there to keep it alive. Mine was good anyway my wife’s was a sad gray mass with sparse mushrooms meat in it.
I had the “special whole rabbit” as a main, and boy was I excited. What arrived was totally unacceptable and so depressing: my whole rabbit had been turned into a large rather dry sausage and cut into 4 slices, served over some forgettable polenta-like purée! While our server had mentioned I would not be getting the actual whole rabbit in one piece, she did NOT mention that it would be pressed and condensed into 4 dry pellets. Again, what a shame.
2) it’s always freezing cold in this place. A lady next to us had her wool coat on the whole meal. I had to zip up my wool 1/4 zip all the way, ugh... and there are huge windows and vents near them to blow cold air on you during the meal. Just be prepared for that if you decide to come. We won’t be back anymore, sadly.

Cinghiale should be on everyone’s list for a great bar and dinner spot. The bar is beautiful, the wine list full of interest, and the food has become spectacular. Rockfish crudo was delicate and brightly fresh; pumpkin mezzaluna was rich without heaviness and swordfish was just perfect. Definitely a gem.
