Overpriced, especially for such small portions and slow, unfriendly service. They're catering to business expense accounts, but still, not good value. It's unfortunate because the menu is ambitious in a good way...Will not go back because there are so many good value high end Italian options.
A fabulous meal with wonderful ambiance and impeccable service!
This is our favorite restaurant in Baltimore. The food is always excellent and whether you eat in the more formal dining room or the Enoteca, the atmosphere is excellent. The wine list is without comparison in Baltimore and the staff will help you find a delicious wine that matches your budget.
The food is creative and delicious. It is a little more expensive than many popular restaurants in Baltimore. However, the food is much better and more creative than places that are almost as expensive.
My wife and I went to the fine dining side. We were met and seated immediately with a friendly and welcoming hospitality. We both did the Prezzo Fisso, 4 course dinner with wine pairings. We both did a spinach salad that was very good. I did the Risotto Acquerello for my 1/2 Primi. The aroma of it as it came to the table had my mouth watering from the start. This dish did not disappoint! The half portion was a good size and I wanted to lick that bowl clean! It was rich with a crisp pancetta mixed in. That is dish is a MUST have! My wife’s Tortellini de Bologna was earthy and also very excellent! My duck as the main course was beautifully cooked. The beets added a nice contrast to the sweeter orange sauce. All the wine parings were wonderful and the waiter was kind enough to write them down for us. The staff is courteous, attentive, and friendly. All smiled and would have pleasant comments if we struck up conversations. Our waiter was classy, informative, and very pleasant to talk with. We will definitely be going back to Cinghiale for another fabulous Italian experience!
I want to like this place, and we did.....maybe they just had an off night???? It started off fine, with very attentive service, but then as the night progressed and it got busy, we saw less and less of our waiter. We ordered off the price fixe menu with wine pairing, which we have done other places. Elsewhere, the staff has gone out of there way to tell us about the wine and the rationale for the pairing. Here, the staff only shared that with us when we persisted in asking....and in fact, they gave me the same pairing for the 1st and 3rd course. The wine presented was perfect for the opening course, but it was far too aggressive for the last course (a delicate halbut).
The table next to us? They totally forgot to bring their food out, so after 30 to 45 minutes, they gave up and just asked for the check.
After all this, when dessert arrived, I ordered the affogato. It was good, but I just about broke a tooth on the hazelnut shells that were also included!
The waiter and house manager were very apologetic, and comped the wine pairings to make up for this situation. But it left me with a very mixed view of this restaurant.
Everything I’ve come to expect from a Foreman restaurant. The food and wine was SPECTACULAR and the unpretentious service was exceptional
I’ve come to expect, not only exceptional food, but a fantastic experience. Cinghiale definitely delivered.
There is a level of trust Foreman restaurants have earned with me and I try foods I wouldn’t normally eat. Last night was no exception and I ordered the pan seared Foie Gras. I’m not a huge fan of organs but I knew if anyone could do this right, Cinghiale would. My experiment was a success and I enjoyed every bite of my 4 course meal.
Baltimore is known for being a foodie’s delight and the Foreman restaurants are leading the way.
Thank you for a great meal and a wonderful experience
I eat here every few months and am never disappointed. The service and customer attention is outstanding. We arrived while the staff were still meeting and the charcuterie concierge kept us busy with some tastes of his cheeses. On leaving I mentioned that I had ordered the wrong cheese for dessert and he handed me a complimentary box on the way out. Doesn’t get much better.
Returned to celebrate a birthday. Our server was a bit dull, and not what we have been accustomed to. The food was good, and tiramisu was wonderful. Latte was terrible- 2nd attempt- won’t bother again. The hostess was kind, as usual.
Fantastic dinner with stellar service! What a lovely evening!
Wine list was complicated but thoroughly explained by our waiter and another young lady (wish that I knew her name, she was terrific). Both were well educated on the wine selection. Atmosphere and service were exceptional. Hats off to Andrew, our waiter. He made the evening very special for our night out. We rarely go into the city but so glad that we decided to do so. Our meal was expertly prepared and gave us what we wanted... an opportunity to experience food and flavors that we really can't get elsewhere. Not inexpensive but definitely not overpriced by any means considering the entire experience.
We had a wonderful dinner for my friend’s birthday. The food was amazing. The staff was attentive. And everyone made my friend’s birthday really lovely. Our waiter was spot on with each recommendation.
One of the best meals I have ever had. Great service. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Easter Brunch reconfirmed Cinghale as one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore!
These days, a better value-for-money than Cafe Vasquez or Jhonny's. Our favorite Cindy Wolff restaurants remain Petit Louis and Cinghiale.
The wine steward, a woman, was very helpful + we enjoyed the white wine she recommended (?Preludia??).
Great food, great service, great everything.
This was our third time at Cinghiale and we will definitely be back. The food is excellent and the service is first class!
Outstanding service and wonderful food.
Service and for were excellent, as usual. Try the barley risotto.
Superb find during our brief visit to Baltimore.. very creative menu...warmly welcomed ...quiet table as requested. Meat and seafood dishes all superbly prepared..
Having frequented all of Cindy Wolf's other restaurants, I was anxious to try this one and was not disappointed. The restaurant is beautifully located on the harbor with easy valet parking....right across the street from her other wonderful restaurant, The Charleston. We were warmly greeted by Mathew - who also works at the Charleston...and shown to a lovely little table in the corner of the main dining room. The prix fix menu is extensive with many choices - it was a challenge to decide on what we wanted. Went with the Fois Gras with chocolate shavings which was one of the best I have tasted. My dinner companion chose the oysters - also excellent. We both enjoyed our pasta selections - tortollini and the ravioli. This was followed by the scallops and the veal breast - which melted in my mouth. We barely had room for the included dessert - but did indulge with the sorbet. Service was superb - as it has been in all of the Wolf-Foreman establishments. I certainly intend to frequent again and adding Cinghiale to my list of special places to eat.
THE SERVICE WAS IMPECCABLE. WE CHOOSE THE WINES THAT WERE SUGGESTED WITH OUR ENTREES WHICH WERE PERFECTLY MATCHED. A MEMORABLE EVENING. THANK YOU.
Cinghaile has become one of favorite restaurants EVER. It is exquisite from start to finish, one could regularly dine here week after week
We had a lovely meal. The food was wonderful and service was great.
We love dining at the bar with Noblia. She’s a wonderful host and an expert on cocktails and wine!
Fantastic! We were seated in the lovely main dining room, party of 10. We ordered our wine and eventually were offered a beautiful private room. I figured we were a bit loud. Totally appreciated it. The move was seamless. Service and food outstanding! Every staff member friendly and nice. Thanks for a great experience! This restaurant was recommended by a local friend. I made sure to let her know. Will certainly return when in Baltimore.
This place has found its footing again. Food was excellent. Scallops with cauliflower was first rate. And service couldn’t have been better. (Server was Jimi. Great, attentive and personable.)
Any time I make the trip from DC to Baltimore I make reservations at Cinghiale. The food is exquisite and comparatively priced. The drinks are crafted by mixologist that know their skill. Martinis were perfect. Date had a roasted veal breast that was tender and seasoned to perfection. I had the baked cod on a bed of small potatoes that was to die for. We began our meal with two perfectly dressed arugula salads that were crisp and flavorful. Don't pass up this opportunity and do make reservations.
We always enjoy Tuesday's half-price bottle of wine night. There is a new dish on the menu that we had - Tagliolini - the pasta was similar to thin pappardelle and it had chunks of razor clams and rockfish - please keep this on the menu, it is a definite winner. I like having the option of a half portion or full portion so as to have the option to try something else. The service is always impeccable and the staff's ability to remember our favorite drinks and wine is very impressive. We always choose Cinghiale when entertaining clients from out of town (or even in town).
Food was excellent and our server, Victor, exceeded that.
Atmosphere was wonderful. Our waiter was horrible and we had to keep asking to get water refills. Food was decent but there is better in Baltimore.
Hadn't dined here for several years. The major down side was all the detoured streets that mad routing and arrival difficult. It was a good experience, with a menu that we don't often see when we go out. It seems that they have relaxed the dress code in the Main dining room from prior reservations. Sommelier was kind but difficult to understand. Experience was a repeat.
As always , Cinghiale never fails to please us. That's why we drive for 45 minutes to eat there. The pasta is the highlight of the meal. Always made fresh and very innovative. The service is top notch. The servers go out of their ways to cater to all needs of the diners. The service is very professional, yet very friendly and pleasing. The managers, Ingrid and Paul, always treat us like royalty.
The wine list is very creative , very fairly priced, and one of the most comprehensive anywhere. Many great wine under $40 and reflects Mr. Forman's extensive knowledge of Italian wines. Most are selected personally by him.
It's eay to see why Cinghiale has remained one of the best!!!!
To sure to try Cinghiale's new sister restaurant in Columbia, Lupa. It's well worth the visit and like all Forman/Wolf restaurant won't fail to please. Less formal than Cinghiale, but still great food and wines.
We frequent this place. It absolutely never disappoints. From the front door to the food, every box is checked.
The service was excellent. Wines list is impressive but my entree was salty.
Our server, the food and the environmental was absolute the BOMB ! We loved it and look forward to fine Italian dinner.
The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. This was our first time going to Cinghiale but it won't be the last!
Our second time at Cinghiale and it certainly won't be our last. Very attentive service, excellent food. Lasagna was different than the heavy lasagna that many restaurants serve. Nevertheless, it was excellent. Not smothered in pasta sauce but very flavorful. Appetizers, including beet salad and mozzarella with dates were both excellent. Chocolate dessert (mousse I think) was very rich and shared among the four of us.
Very good food and cocktails and wonderful service.
