Top notch service, fabulous good, wonderful ambience
Food average. Pasta not al dente
We always enjoy dining at Cinghiale and thought that it would be a wonderful spot for a Fathers' Day dinner and we were right! We had a fantastic time. We thoroughly enjoyed their La Cucina della Nonna three-course, fixed price menu. My Fritto Misto appetizer was outstanding and our Veal Shoulder Roast entrees were perfectly executed. The table service was impeccable and the ambiance was lively yet quiet enough for casual conversation. To top it all off they were offering half-priced bottles of Barolo for Fathers' Day! Highly recommended!
We had the Prezzo Fisso and were very impressed by the wine and food pairings. Everything was fresh, inventive, (while still retaining the simplicity of Italian cuisine) and absolutely delicious. The wine pairings were surprising, and the decor and service were impeccable. We drove from Richmond, and it was totally worth it!
Never disappoints. We always select the prix fixe and the optional wine pairings. Sometimes a wine pairing sounds odd at first, but it's always spot-on. Masterfully done!
Great for date night. Free valet service is a nice touch.
Never a disappointment. Been going the past 5 years. I'll make up and excuse to go. Yes. It's not on the "cheap" side, but you can't compare it to ANYTHING!! Amazing food. Worth every dollar!
Disappointing Was a favorite place years ago but quality of kitchen seems to have plummeted. Is this the Olive Garden or what?
This was my 4th experience at Cinghiale and truly was excited to share it with my best friend. I have dined at this exceptional restaurant with my husband and friends. Being from Boston with an array of fine dining and foodie restaurants, we do not have a Cinghiale. And truly wish we did! I was fortunate to compliment the chef as every bite was more delicious than the next. I was close to embarrassing myself as I wanted to lick my plate of scallops with this very light sauce. That would have been a scene! What we have always loved even more than the spectacular food of this establishment is the extensive wine list. My husband knowing wine very well has taught this student a few things....and I can't begin to rave about our server, Jimi!!! She knew so much about wine that there was no reason to talk to the somm(who I know is amazing!) Jimi with her warm, engaging personality knew how to suggest wines that were suitable for my best friend's palette and do even more for mine, as I appreciate Old World wines. I'm sure many of their servers are excellent, but Jimi is priceless!! She is a gem....just like Cinghiale!
For the second year in a row my wife and I came here for our anniversary and we loved it. The food is amazing, the win pairing option is perfect, and the service was very good. We spent two terrific hours sitting outside and enjoying our meal and never once felt like anyone was rushing us or that the service was too slow. It was perfectly balanced and so much fun.
The steak was ok- the sausage ravioli was so much better. I recommend trying the cheese platter.
Such a shame how this restaurant has slid down hill. I wrote a review on Yelp and to be honest there is no need to rehash this all over again. The take-away from Mgmt should be to pay more attention to the people or person who is working the line in the kitchen that sends out the food. The Charleston is great but not so much at Cinghiale.
Service quite good and friendly. My meal (lamb) was terrible but, fortunately, our guests acted satisfied with theirs. I would have sent it back in two seconds, except it was awkward being with guests.
Business Dinner for 4: Ambiance and Service were great. Unfortunately the food was average and VERY small yet rather expensive. We don't need mega portions but all the meals at the table were practically appetizer size. No one thought of them as special in regard to flavor. As soon as the plates hit the table we all looked at each other and chuckled. The New York Strip was like they cut the ends off the strip and kept the middle for some other dish.... Stop in for a beverage yes. Dinner...... Not so much. Except for a cocktail maybe, we won't be returning.
Lots of variety and choices; food was ok; not great! Ambiance was very nice!
Amazing food with very attentive & informative wait staff. Complementary valet parking topped it off. Highly recommended!
A very nice dinner. Great Service. Valet parking. pleasant experience.
Was one of our favorite restaurants but last night we were very disappointed with our visit. Service was not what we have come to expect - had to ask for our water glasses to be filled several times. It took a while for the waiter to refill our wine glasses and then he only topped off 2 of the 4. We quickly realized we just needed to pour our own wine. The first thing we ordered was meat and cheese for the table. While we were still eating three of our four plates were whisked away with out asking us. I thought they making room because the appetizers were ready - but they didn’t show up for another 15 minutes. The meal was poorly paced and one of the four appetizers was wrong. We felt compelled to wait for the last appetizer to arrive before dining which resulted in the 2 hot apps being cold. The entrees were also a disappointment. Not one person stopped by the table to see if we were enjoying our meal. Overall a very disappointing experience and I am sad to say we won’t be returning.
We went for a 20th wedding anniversary. The restaurant came highly recommended. We sat for over 25 minutes before getting a cocktail. We ordered and food arrived. The Cheese / meats app was amazing. Salad too. Meals were ok. We were very disappointed with the service overall which in our opinion makes the experience just as much as the food. We were never asked how our food was, how the bottle of wine was, we had to have our waiter located to ask for another drink, etc... it was a very expensive evening and it didn’t meet our expectations.
Wonderful evening with my wife, boys and parents. Excellent negroni and aperol spritz mixed by the bartender. Wonderful service by all the staff, formal and professional, never overbearing or stuffy. Perfect pasta dishes. Soft shell crabs were a hit with all. Will definitely go back next time I am in Baltimore.
We have been eating at Cinghiale quite often the last few years and were always happy with the quality of the food. This time the food was very disappointing. Soup was VERY salty, Lasagnia was not cooked enough and cold in the center, the other dishes that we ordered were just not tasty. Very disappointing, we will not go there again. Our server was very nice.
Our server, Carlton, was fantastic!! We had requested either Makara ir Carlton, and she was bartending that night. We love them both. And we love Cinghiale!
Great as always. The chicken was very good but not life changing like it usually is. The wine and service were perfect.
Mediocre food and service. Certainly overpriced for the quality. Much better options in the area at the same price or better.
I was looking for a great true Italian restaurant and ambiance for my daughter graduation. The restaurant was empty , and the host sat us in a close private room that it can be in any restaurant, the food no even close to our nonna's cusina, or any original Italian cuisine, they rush you to order and the food came cold and the pasta over cook, beautiful ambience after we were sitting at the main salon, but beside that I will just recommend it for a glass of wine and a cheese or meet plate! That's all!
My family attended for a birthday. Great ambiance and superb service. Not unexpectedly on the pricey side.
We enjoyed Cinghiale for a Graduation dinner. There are many price fix as well as a la carte options. The waitress took a lot of time to explain them and make recommendations. All but one in our party chose the Nonna's price fix. The food was good. The favorites were the veal shoulder and polenta, and gnocchi. The shrimp with capers was a bit bland, and the soup on the Nonna's price fix was just ok. the dessert was also tasty, although the mixed berry crostata was a crust with pureed berries (looked like strawberry jam) which looked pretty dull on the plate. We were seated alone in a larger party room off the main restaurant which seemed cheerful and fun. We should have asked to be moved, but we didn't, so we didn't really experience the ambience.
Great service food was tasty but not thier best night
The food is generally better
We sat outside because it was a beautiful night but there was an unfortunate smell that came in waves and there were of course bugs. Next time we will sit inside. The food was great and plentiful. We left very stuffed!
There were good points and not so good points. On the negative side, I was surprised that a restaurant of this caliber set the table with worn and faded linens, including holes in my napkin. We also found the service rushed. Moments after we ordered the wine, the first course was on the table, and each course came quick on the heels of the previous course. After the second course came quickly, I requested a slower pace, but that did not affect the service. Mind you, this was early on a Sunday evening when the place was largely empty -- no need for the restaurant to rush us. That said, the food was quite good. The rockfish risotto was properly al dente, the beef ravioli were also quite good. My spouse had the rabbit leg, which he liked. My rockfish filet was properly done with crispy skin (though the skin was a bit charred). The farro served with the fish, however was not inspiring. Also on the plus side, the sommelier provided very good guidance on the wines. Overall, a good dining experience, but with some notable flaws.
Disappointed on my meal very bland ordered spaghetti with shrimp wine & garlic. Not enough flavor
Dinner at Cianghiale was absolutely wonderful! Our waitress was perfectly attentive, but not overly so. She was able to recommend amazing dishes as starters, entrees, and even dessert - and when we did not like one of the desserts she suggested, she brought over another, free of charge!
Overall, the food was absolutely delicious, but the real reason I would go back in a heartbeat was the service. It was truly a wonderful evening.
service was excellent, appetizers were delicious, and 2 of 3 mains were fantastic. soft shell crab and boar ragu mains were great, rabbit ragu very bland
Simply too dark and loud for an enjoyable total experience. Food and waitstaff are excellent, but the venue is simply not worth the time.
Visited for our 5 year anniversary while visiting from Philly. Food and service were outstanding as always. Lots of unique tasteful offerings of true Italian cuisine. Always visit when we are in Baltimore. Worth checking out and if we were locals, we would eat here more often!
Amazing! The food was delicious and unlike other Italian restaurants I’ve visited in Baltimore. Fresh pastas, incredible cheeses, meats and wine, along with an awesome group of attentive wait staff. Thank you for our memorable and relaxing meal!
Always a highlight of our stays in Baltimore. One of the best Italian restaurants ANYWHERE.
The restaurant was excellent in terms of food and service. It was definitely on the more pricey side. I would definitely recommend this was a good date night location.
Mother’s Day celebration
Went for a mother’s day Treat for my wife and everything was perfect. Cocktails were excellent but not over the top, the food was delicious, and...I recommend the cookie plate for dessert! Awesome night in a gorgeous setting.
