The Osteria at Cinghiale has the feel of an elegant tavern with white table-cloths and mahogany and leather banquettes. It features a large farm table for a special family-style dining experience.
The Enoteca at Cinghiale celebrates the modern Italian table. It is designed to be a playful section of the restaurant, as well as a gathering place. The space has a lively urban bustle that features rich woods, wrought iron chandeliers and a handcrafted marble tile floor. Adjacent to the main bar is a Salumeria that features traditional meats, cheeses and antipasti.
The menu is complimented by an over 500 label wine list that features Northern and Central Italian wines. World of Fine Wine magazine recognized Cinghiale for having one of the best wine lists in the world for 2016. Outdoor seating is available, weather permitting.
All four members of our party were thrilled with their dinners. I got the scallops with Polenta and they were delicate, sweet and tender with the perfect sear and loads of flavor. My husband had the cod and was delighted with the preparation which was fresh, subtle and had just the right amount of seasonal touches in the sauce. My daughter and son both loved their vegetarian pasta dishes, cavatelli with summer vegetables and spaghetti with tomato and basil sauce. The deserts of hazelnut gelatto and a chocolate semifredo really were the perfect finish to a perfect meal. This restaurant never disappoints!
Hostess was annoyed when we got there she was also the bartender! Our food was average the desserts were not good. I loved this the first time I was there was super excited to go back, I will try other places next time.
This was simply a superb dinner in every way. Creative food, well-executed, thoughtful and wide-ranging wine list, and superlative service. I was a bit confused, having booked reservation on OpenTable, to receive multiple text messages from Resy to confirm and then emails to rate my experience.
Chef Juan David is spectacular!
On a Monday night with maybe 5 other tables in the restaurant it took nearly 3 hours for a dinner for 6 people. We arrived for our reservation at 715 and were greeted by the hostess. The waiter took the orders for the whole table and grabbed the menu from my father without taking his order, only realizing his mistake several minutes later. The timing between courses was inexplicably long (the third course was served maybe 30 minutes after the plates for second course were cleared). We ordered our desert to go so we could get the check and get home, this too took forever (I'm not sure how cutting a few pieces of cake and putting cookies in a to go box takes 15-20 minutes). On night when the restaurant was essentially empty, the service and prep of the food did not match the price of the check.
Everything about Cinghiale is excellent. The food is delicious. The wine selection is amazing. They have wonderful service and a great location in Harbor East. I can't wait to go back.
Perfect in every way. Two prix-fix menus at $34 and $64 price points are an amazing value. And a la carte is not overly expensive either. But the value is part of the perfect service, outstanding preparation and quality of the food, the creativity of the chef(s), the broad in price and selection wine list, the decor - well, just everything.
We had an amazing dining experience at Cinghiale! The staff was extremely attentive and very helpful in offering menu and wine selections. The Grilled Calamari was absolutely amazing! Fresh, flavorful and cooked to perfection! We too enjoyed the fresh pasta, although the Casunsei, Sausage Filled Pasta was somewhat dense. And the Pan Seared Scallops were the best!! To finish off our meal, we shared the Affogato Hazelnut Gelato which was amazing! And the cappuccino was true to the European style. Simply magnifico!
We have seen some reviews stating that the meal was expensive. Rest assured, this can be managed as diners can order a la cart.
The food was epic at Cinghiale! I was shocked. All of the dishes we got were excellent and our server was so attentive and knowledgeable. I cannot wait to return and try more food!
Great experience as always, will be back again!
Service was horrible - our waiter basically ignored us the majority of the evening. The food was alright but definitely will not come back.
Cinghale never disappoints. This particular visit the appetizers, and drinks were best. Extensive wine list, and for the money the four course meal is the way to go.
Upon our arrival, we were told the dining room was fully booked for a private party, so we were assigned to a table in one of the private dining rooms with no windows or ambiance. Our food was unusually slow to arrive (presumably due to the load on the kitchen from the dining room private party). The result was a disappointing experience - first ever for our dining at Cinghiale. Fortunately, the food was as good as always. We'll return, but only if we can be seated as requested when the reservation is made.
Food is amazing. We have eaten here on many occasions and food is always perfection. Staff are all very attentive and gracious. Whenever someone asked us for a restaurant recommendation we always suggest Cinghiale.
We returned to celebrate an anniversary and were rudely greeted, asked to wait in a very perfunctory way, seated approximately 10 minutes after our reservation time. Meal was disappointing in quality. Not at all up to the ur manager prior visits since this restaurant opened.
First class / world class from the moment we arrived. Every effort was made to accomdate our requests for a quiet location. Also, host they were professionally present and helpful without being intrusive. We will certainly go back.
Always loved this restaurant. Made a special trip to go to it . The service was very disappointing. Very disengaged server that was not enthusiastic about the offerings. The menu offerings were very different than previous. Almost no pastas is, crab or lobster ravioli. Ordered the Maribini
one of the only vegetarian options. Was bland and tasteless. I was not offered any Parmesan to accompany. My husband ordered a scallop entree which for $38 dollars was appetizer size. The tiramisu tasted storebought. All in all a bad experience.
This is a very attractive restaurant and works very well for gatherings. Very nice location near the water in Harbor East. Food is very good (on a Monday), a tad pricey perhaps. We and our out-of-towners were quite satisfied.
We are in the main dining room. My salad was excellent but was surprised that there was only one vegetarian option in the primo pasta and none in the secondo and even more surprised that the vegetarian pasta selection was mediocre, a last minute thought for vegetarians.
A must for anyone looking for Italian cuisine.
We had a graduation dinner for my son’s masters degree, four of us. The room we sat in was beautiful and all food preparation was attractive. I had a spicy bucatini, others had tagliatelle, gnocchi, squid ink seafood pasta dishes. Salads were delicious, and we shared an antipasti platter. Wines are all from Italy and the list is extensive. Service was slow but we were not in a hurry. Johnny was our kind server, and the sommelier chose a tasty Chianti reserva for us, since none of the labels were familiar to us. Tiramisu was excellent. Next time I’d sit at the long, marble topped bar if just with 1 or 2 others.
Wonderful food great service!
Another delicious meal, with superb service. Fabulous wine list. Every dish fresh and seasonal with incredible attention to detail. I love this place. Always a big treat when we come up from Annapolis
A group of friends were together for an annual trip to Baltimore by boat, and Cinghiale is across the street from the marina. So it's easy, but also good. This seemed to be an off night, since the restaurant never got full even though it was Saturday. Not sure where everyone was, since other times we've eaten here its been full. Our server, Jimi, was terrific, as was the rest of the service. The food was good, although not stellar this night. My husband's softshell crabs were terrific, he said. I shared a grilled swordfish dinner with another person, and that was terrific too. The risotto was disappointing for another friend. A bit of a mixed bag this night, but all in all this is still a beautiful restaurant with good food, and great service.
Lovely restaurant for any occasion: dates, celebrations, anniversaries, or casual meals with friends and family. One of my go-to places to celebrate or take family when they come to town. Food is pricey but superb and absolutely worth it. Ambiance is elegant and enjoyable. Staff is attentive and courteous. If you haven't been here before, it's worth a visit. I have since moved on from Baltimore but would love to visit this gem again whenever back in town.
Wonderful from the start. James was fantastic. Made excellent recommendations and paced our meal beautifully. Well done!
We took my parents here for Mother’s Day and, as expected, they loved it like we do. My parents, husband, and I did the tasting menu & I’ve never heard them so happy with a meal. As second generation Italians in America, they have really high expectations. Cinghiale met and exceeded that expectation. Everyone was very accommodating, too. We brought our two very well-behaved children with us & our waiter made sure my littlest one had spaghetti and the tastiest meatball ever. My older daughter, unsure about eating capers, was offered to try them separately. It allowed both girls to experience a really nice restaurant.
Cinghiale rarely disappoints. The atmosphere and service creates a relaxed space for everyday, but still can feel like a special night out or business dinner space. Attentive staff. Patient with questions and generous with descriptions about the food and wine. Main courses and wine pairings wonderful. I would normally rate food as 5 stars, but tonight the the soup had a bitter taste one might expect with asparagus, but it was still out of balance with the cream. The bite of cheese crisp floating on the soups surface provided the needed balance, but it lasted only two bites. I look forward to their soups so was disproportionately disappointed. Otherwise a perfect experience.
The food was fantastic. The service was wonderful. We wish we had been coming here sooner.
Food and service always excellent
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Cinghiale. The food was good, but the services was impeccable!
I was looking at wines priced around $15 and asked for assistance was given a wine for $25 which I thought was quite expensive.
Food was good. Service was poor. Server could not be bothered by our questions. We are a party of six and had to
Pull out of her the information on the menu. She had no suggestions. When asked if a dish was good or recommended she responded I don’t know I’m allergic to seafood. When ordered a bottle of wine and she came back that they did not have it she did not suggested another selection or ask us if we wanted a new choice but said I got you the one below it on the menu. We drank it Bc we did not want to wait again for another bottle.
Overall food was good. Bit overpriced but expected that. A lot of other fine restaurants in the area to try but may go back again. The fresh cheese and prosciutto was excellent thought. Definitely worth a glass of wine and enjoy the charcuterie plate!
Food was fantastic. I had the duck. Highly recommend. The service was a bit slow. 3 courses took every bit of 2 hours. We were seated for 20 minutes before we were able to order. Luckily we had already grabbed drinks at the bar before sitting down.
We waited 45 minutes for our table, and were treated to an appetizer at the bar. Menu is complete but quality is just average. Wine list is complete with Italian wines, that cost $15 for a simple pour of from a screw top bottle.
I love this place but unfortunately the 3 of us who dined together each ordered a different pasta. No exaggeration they each lacked flavor and even more odd, they all tasted the same. We had to ask for salt. That should never happen. Maybe just an off night, sure hope so. Charcuterie was amazing as was the celery root soup. That is why the pasta entrees were so disappointing
One of our favorite places to eat. Love atmosphere. Food always fabulous. Never disappointed
Great service. Excellent food. Wonderful atmosphere. You wont be sorry
