Cinco Mexican Cantina - Vickery Village Ratings and Reviews
Upon arrival, our table was ready and waiting. We were quickly greeted by our waiter and we asked for waters while we looked over the menu. He left, for awhile. We had to get another server to find him to order. The drink orders got mixed up and he wasn't present when the food was brought out, so we had to figure out what went where. The food was just ok. But the environment was great. Not noisy, or crowded. We had a great girls night out for my friend's birthday. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for the food or service though. Friends like the alcoholic beverages, so maybe just go for drinks and to hang out. I also think our server was fairly new.
Chef was evidently 'not with it' tonight. Ordered the ahi tuna tacos (have ordered in the past with no problems) Two out of three of the tacos had tuna that was full of skin/gristle and you could not bite nor eat them. Brought it to the attention of our server, showed him the un-edible pieces (it would turn your stomach) and he called the Mgr. We did get the tacos taken off our bill but not sure we will trust them with these tacos again.
A little more attention to detail would be good. It was late afternoon well before the dinner crowd so the kitchen was surely not rushed!
The hostess wad really sweet and nice I believe her name was hannah. The server Katelyn was ok. She was nice and all but made silly mistakes. Such as every time we ordered drinks she forgot one. And once a friend ordered a Coke she brought it out and said I think the bag is empty do you want to try it? Clearly the drink had no syrup. She should have just switched the bag and brought her a fresh one. Another friend ordered the Monday night tacos. She asked for salsa that normally comes with the meal. The waitress brings it out and said it normally didn't come with it but I'll give it to you. Then when she ran get card she was charged 1.50 for the salsa really is a Mexican restaurant?? You charge for salsa? The food was good though. Prices were great on Mondays $3 margaritas and $2 tacos.
We enjoyed our meal. The food is always good, and staff attentive. You had just lost a staff member, and there was an unspoken remembrance of her with ribbons pinned to your clothing and flowers with a pic in the entry. It was a lovely touch, and understated yet very powerful. I am sorry for your loss.
Dined on the patio on a great evening. The ahi tuna salad was a pleasant change from the normal heavier mexican dishes. Also tried the shrimp quesadilla which was also good. Not too satisfied with their margarita, all ice and very little drink. Really nice setting for a restaurant with outdoor dining.
We have eaten here several times trying a variety of both menu items and specials - all were excellent. They start you off with fantastic light chips and a robust roasted tomato salsa.
The service is probably the quickest we have experienced at a sit down restaurant, and we have been there at dinner on a weekend and even valentine's day.
the pinnacle is the jalapeño margarita - highly recommended.
Following our recent use of a different Cinco's which was tremendous, we went back to our neighborhood venue. I don't know how or why but it's just not in the same league. We took our family this time but we ordered basically the same as we had eaten at Cobb. To say it was disappointing would be an understatement. Service was OK, food OK too but just not as well presented and I think that's the difference. More attention to detail is needed to bring it up to the Cobb standard. It looks as if it was thrown together and then onto a plate - at Cobb the presentation was so much better. It still tasted fine but....... And why are drinks so expensive at Cinco's? I still cannot work that out - it detracts from the overall value of the place.
Ate here for the first time on a Saturday night with 3 of us. Meals included veal quesadilla, beef fajitas, and skirt steak with chile relleno. All were fantastic but the skirt steak and veal were the tops. The jalapeno margarita was outstanding. We are also a big fan of the roasted tomato hot sauce dip for chips prior to the meal. We will definitely be returning.
Met my husband here for drinks (Sangria) after work. Staff was great and we went out to the rooftop bar. Great view, great music, and great food!
We didn't end up having dinner because after sharing some appetizers (huge portions) we were too full!
We enjoyed the queso and chorizo along with the fish tacos and their chips and salsa. Everything was fresh and delicious.
We will be back for dinner!
it seemed like cinco's quality and flavor we're going down hill for a while. We got a birthday email, good for a free entree, so figured we'd give it another try. To our surpurise, they have changed some of their recipes again for the better. We plan to make it our Mexican food destination again. Let's hope things keep moving this direction!
Celebrating our son/ brothers high school graduation we selected Cinco's. The atmosphere outside on the pation was pleasant and quiet so we could enjoy converstations. Lindsay did an excellent job with all aspects of service....especially dealing with a large group and all of our various requests. So happy we chose to dine at Cinco's on that special day!
We love the giant fajita platter, which 3 of us share. The table next to us also ordered it and shared among 2 adults and 2 kids. We know this because the table "next to us" is actually attached and separated only by a divider on the table itself, allowing the diners to feel sort of like your'e all sitting together.
