Cinco Mexican Cantina - Akers Mill Ratings and Reviews
Our waiter, Francisco, was superb.
He explained the dishes offered and even the chips and salsa were warm and delicious.
The fajitas were outstanding and keep serving everything fresh...you can tell the difference when the
chips and food is not reheated.
But Francisco was the most pleasant server ever!
Keep him happy.
Had a GREAT time here. The drinks were incredible and LOVE all the food options. Our waitress was so nice and worked hard to make sure that we were happy the whole time we were there. I am very impressed and will re-visit over and over. The only downside is that it is always packed so the rooftop seating, which is awesome, is almost impossible to get. We might try to go a little earlier next time to see if we can get up there for the live music and bar.
I have been to Cinco for lunch several times before, but it was great for our big group last week meeting for dinner. The hostess was accommodating, having a large table ready for our party of 6, and they even set it for 8, as we were unsure if 2 more would join us. It was a slower week in ATL being the 4th of July holiday week, so maybe that is why the noise level was manageable for our mini-reunion, but it was great to be able to catch up. The guacamole is always so fresh here, and there are several menu options without meat. The beer list had a moderate number of choices, but I did not check out the wines. We ordered everything from traditional quesadillas, to "bowls", to salmon, to tuna at the table. I recommend one of their bowls: the one I had with beans, vegetables, and fresh avocado on top was very tasty.
Cinco is our go-to for quick slightly upscale Mexican. The Texas margaritas are just $5 on Friday nights. This time we tried one of their new burrito bowls (steak and bleu cheese) and it was quite tasty. Husband got shrimp fajitas, with plenty of contents for the number of totillas. Good vaue, quick and tasty.
We have been going to Cinco for many years and the brunch this Mother's Day was disappointing. The price has continuted to rise, but the quality of the food has not. We arrived about 1:15 and noticed that several of the entrees were very low or not refilled. We still enjoy going to Cinco to dine, but would not spend almost $22 each for brunch that's not at the level of the food they serve at dinner. Since Ava and Rob have departed, the service and food are not the same.
Great service and delicious food! We came to Cinco for a work team lunch and had a great time. I had originally made the reservation for 8 people and our friendly hostess happily accomodated my request to add more chairs. Our server, Kate/Kathryn:) was awesome as well! Would highly recommend for groups or anyone looking for a fun lunch or dinner spot!
I also Love the $2.50 house wine special on Wednesdays!! Will be back soon:)
We ate on the rooftop patio. It was crowded when we arrived and was a bit noisy as you would expect. Service was slow and it was a bit difficult to flag down a server. However, when we talked to a server they were nice. The patio wait staff just seemed to be a bit disorganized. As busy as they are, they need to run the tables on the patio as they do in the main dining area......one server is assigned to a certain set of tables with organized repeated visits to the tables to accommodate patrons and there are enough servers to cover all of the tables. The food was good....definitely a step up from "hole in the wall" Mexican and the portions were fair for the prices. Would love to see a combination platter where you could pick 3 or 4 items from their large selection of tacos, enchiladas, burritos, etc. Overall a positive dining experience, they just need to do a little better on the service.
This was my second time here this week, two diff get together w/ friends. Had a reservation for 6:30. James (?) provided water and didn't come back for a while. We then ordered a glass of wine, both of us ordered nine else but when I got to the table my glass was half of what my friends was. So James went back to the barn topped it off. He then disappeared for a very long time, and we had to flag someone down at about 7:55 to actually take our order. Food came quickly and was good, but service was exceptionally slow.
The best and most cooperatives hostess ever !! (Sydney and Jenny) wow this two girls rock!! We are regulars pretty much and for most part never got any issues with anything mayor! Friday's are the best ! 5$ Texas and believe me they are yummy and worth what you pay for! The fresh Guacamole is yummy too ! And btw the brunch is excellent ! Happy costumers here!!

We had a reservation before heading to Cobb Energy Center and were seated immediately upon arrival but it went downhill from there. Although our server was very sweet- she had too may tables. Service was poor and the food even worse. Tacos were dripping with grease and cold. They came without cheese, lettuce or anything to top them with including salsa! Quesadilla seemed to be missing cheese which should have been the main ingredient. It came with a shred of white lettuce, barley enough to consider a decorative garnish and a dollop of sour cream but nothing else. Most of the food remained inedible and untouched.
This was our first visit to Cinco. The decor & atmosphere are really cool! Food was good but not exceptional. The menu was more upscale than most Mexican restaurants--a good thing. The shrimp was really good, the burrito grande was ok. We felt the entrees were well priced but the guacamole & beer was on the expensive side. Flan was very good.
We'll come back!
This was our first time here. I booked because my wife wanted to experience it.
My Skirtsteak meal was cold. I had ordered it medrare. It appeared it was Fijita steak thrown on the plate with the sauce on it. The asparagus was cold and...well...it was just awful. My wife ordered the Molten Chocolate cake - it was very cold. That is not how 'molten' cake is served.
The server, Maddie, was really nice.
I wish I had gone to our standby - Chops Steak House.
We will not return.
Went for Sunday Brunch Buffet and was disappointed that most of the hot food put out was luke warm. Not very appetizing to eat chicken enchilada with cheese and the cheese is not gooey. The shrimp enchilada had a cream sauce that was thick from being cool. The only thing that was hit was the cobblers because they came straight out of the oven in the same pan it was served in.
Not worth going back to.
