Absolutely delicious pasta with one of the best rose wines I have had! Will definitely go again.
Had the 6 course meal. The escargot soup was fantastic, fish course was done just right although we didn't care for the sour sauce, pasta was really tasty! Wish there were less sour courses but we don't really like sour food to begin with.

The food was very good . We shared a braised cabbage dish for starters, and had the roast duck breast with duck confit and leeks for the main course. The sauce was excellent. For dessert we had the lemon curd and the salted caramel tart--both carefully prepared. Portions are quite small. the restaurant is not too noisy. They actually turned the music down as the volume of people talking increased.
We took friends there for their anniversary. We were greeted with a complimentary celebratory glass of sparkling. The service was gracious, friendly and attentive. The food amazing. Our friends were completely awed and felt very spoiled. Cinara is one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver and it never fails to exceed expectations.
Decent food but portions WAY too small. Especially for the price you pay. $25 for vegetarian pasta that leaves you hungry?? Yikes. Main server was knowledgeable and kept refilling our water, which was nice. Asked about floating server or manager (whoever she was) for pepper and she acted insulted and unfriendly when she dropped it off. I expect - and you can get - better service for this price.
They do an amazing job with the food. Creative, innovative and amazingly good.

Really happy with the experience - service was great (Scott and co) and the food was delicious. Homemade bread was outstanding, and it was the best pasta I've had in a while.
The food was great and service was excellent. Only issue was the foie gras, the presentation was a bit odd for what it was and it was also not at a consistent temperature throughout. Otherwise it was an amazing meal.

I've been meaning to get a meal at Cinara for the longest time and finally had the occasion to go! We won a silent auction for the tasting menu for 2 and it was such a treat. Wait staff was amazing -- fun but quiet; they know when to come by and when to leave you to dine. The food was really rich and flavourful; very homey & rustic yet presented in a very elegant manner.
Fantastic wine pairings as well... the wait staff are as knowledgeable as they are extremely attentive. We felt welcome and cozy -- a delight anytime you experience something like this in the city.
The food was very good, and very good value, but the wine list was on the expensive side, with not great options on the lower end. I would go there more often if they had nicer wines in the $40-$50 bottle range.

This is the first time we were at Cinara & were looking forward to the dinner as there are few restaurants near the QE.
It is in a lovely heritage building & offer a warm ambience. The foie gras was lovely, but it was a very small piece served inside a chunk of brioche.
The baccala was treated appropriately, with the salt squeezed out but retained the flaky texture. For the amount of baccala there was an over abundance of thin bread.
The two mains were tasty but the portions were very small. The duck breast was one half of a very small breast with a couple of tablespoons of barley and a couple of pieces of carrots and greens. That is our only issue with the food here, most of the mains are about $30, but the portions are small.
The service was fine and the server remembered to fill our glasses with wine, until the restaurant started to fill up. Then they had other people to serve & we had to ask for coffee.
Fabulous. My friends and I had the perfect dining experience start to finish. I’ve already recommended Cinara to a number of my friends.
The only reason I did not give it a full 5 stars across all categories is because at two point in our otherwise stellar evening there was a distinct and unpleasant smell of pork fat from the kitchen. I guess where our table was located it was near a fan so it vented directly on us. My husband is a carnivore and even he found the smell distasteful. However the experience was more than overshadowed by the delicious meal (risotto is the best I have ever had and the agnolotti are like soft pillows). Our server-Chris who thought he was Steve or was it the other way around- was amazing. Helping me deconstruct the meal to see if I could replicate at home (probably not). Thanks. We will definitely be back.
The food Is unpretentious, and consistently fantastic, but what sets Cinara apart from many is the absolute top notch service. Staff are incredibly friendly, attentive and anticipate the needs of their guests. This is a great place to unwind with friends with great food and a well rounded wine list.

We had a great time at Cinara and will go back for sure!! Although the place was packed and the staff extremely busy, the service was good and the food, delicious! Unfortunately, the tasting menu can only be served if the entire table takes it. On that matter, we would encourage the restaurant to add a note about this requirement on the menu. The presentation of some plates was also too simplistic but we definitely have appreciated every bite! Thank you Cinara!
This place is amazing. The ambience is warm and friendly, cozy for a rainy night. The staff are delightful and seem to go out of their way to make our night wonderful. The tasting menu was delicious, every single mouthful. We had duck ragu, liver patè, pork neck, and several other dishes that were brilliant. It’s a bit hard to get in but it’s worth not giving up. You won’t regret this night.

The food was divine! We ordered the Bistecca Fiorentina and it was amazing! The meat was cooked to perfection and the sides were very tasty. They also served us a delicious risotto while we waited for our bistecca (takes about 45 minutes to prepare). We also ordered the white anchovy toast and it was so tasty! Very recommended. If you are going to order the Bistecca Fiorentina, call ahead and try to reserve a steak based on your group size. We were a party of 2 and ordered the 40 oz. We had leftovers the next day! :)
Another great meal at Cinara. The server was extraordinarily professional, and the food amazing! The Tina appetizer is a must!
Great small dish homemade pasta. Would have liked a little more colour variety on the plate as it came off very bland when I first saw it but the flavour was there. Got the chocolate cake for dessert and while it tasted great the cake itself was very dense which I didn’t expect.

Top notch service with amazing, creative dishes. I highly recommend the Carte Blanche where the chef prepares dishes based on the best available ingredients for the season. Italian tastes with Canadian New World creativity and perhaps a bit of French elegance and atmosphere as well. Great cocktails and a well thought out wine list. Bravo! We’ll be back!

It was our first time there and loved it. We'll definitely go back. Excellent service and vibe. The food was excellent. Special cocktails were great. The server's wine and meal recommendations was spot on.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Cinara with the tasting menu. Both the food and the service were exceptional. After a complimentary prosecco to kick off our evening, we enjoyed 6 delicious courses. The tuna crudo was a stand out, as was the pork collar, the ling cod and the buckwheat crepes with saffron cream. Truly a great experience beginning to end.
This is an Italian restaurant with a fairly meat- oriented menu. And no salads. When I told the waitress I was vegetarian- she said no worries they can make a nice salad and pasta for you. Which they did. The meal was superb. The waitress was lovely.
Superb food and friendly and knowledgeable service. The restaurant is located in an older building that, with the lighting design, lends a warm ambience to the dining experience: we forgot about the rain and darkness for a few hours! Spacing between tables is perfect so that even though the restaurant was very full and filled with conversation we still felt we were in our own private world.
Definitely would go back, food and service were great. Not a lot of elbow room, so prepare to introduce yourself to your neighbours.
