Freshening up for its 30th Birthday, Cilantro will be closed from January 1, 2018 until February 2018 due to renovations in the casual and cozy restaurant. The renovations will focus mainly on updating the main floor by including new seating, tables, light fixtures and updated colour scheme. We are refreshing it to be a bit more stylish and casual, while still retaining its rustic character and charm.

The menu will be receiving a small refresh as well, as Chef Lancelot Monteiro moves to a more Canadiana style menu by incorporating more elk and bison from CRMR’s own game ranch, as compared to Southwestern California fare. The menu will continue to focus on flat-bread style pizzas and fresh house-made pasta, but infused with CRMR’s signature Rocky Mountain Cuisine.

Complementing the menu is Cilantro’s award-winning wine menu designed by Brad Royale, CRMR Wine Director, as well as a new cocktail menu that will focus on classics with a twist.

We loved the restaurant, especially the upper level was cosy. Service forgot to tell us that they had run out of one of the ingredients on the specialties platter, which was kind of annoying since we were so looking forward to it. No special apologies, no reduction in price or other effort I make it up.

Atmosphere was ruined by jersey wearing patrons talking loudly about restroom gender bylaws.... what a let down.

It is ideal place for business lunch although I enjoyed having dinner with my family in the evening couple times. The food is great, wine list endless, overall nice, cozy spot in convenience location.

Never eaten before, but saw some of the reviews, and wanted to taste the pear and gorgonzola pizza - very creative, and tasty ... mmmm. Service was great, and we had nice bar stool seats in the back. I would like to come back.

We hadn't been to Cilantro's for a few years. Decided to come back to an old favourite and were not disappointed.

It's always great and has been for decades. I now live in Vancouver but visit Calgary regularly and try to experience Calgary's evolving food scene. While there's many great restos in Calgary, Cilantro offers a fair priced wine list with reasonable depth as well as excellent food offerings in a lovely two-story older building, with an outdoor deck. The mushroom soup is hearty and perfect for those cold Prairie nights. The pear and cheese pizza is a long time favour and three out of five of us had it and weren't disappointed. Our waiter was outstanding. He loved his job and it showed. He seemed to magically just show up when we needed him!
