food was just okay, I have a beet salad and gluten free pizza, hubby had a beef entree and
pasta for dinner. Not sure I would be back as there are some other very healthy/tasty restaurants these days.
ordered and shared appies - delicious. Service was outstanding.
This is and always has been my favourite restaurant in the city which makes me sad to write this review. For the first time ever we had our first bad experience tonight. After sitting for over half an hour before even being acknowledged to waiting over an hour before calling someone who wasn't even our server over to ask if we could put our orders in. This isn't like cilantro and the typical dining experience we are used to here.
Beautiful place. Staff is friendly and attentive and the food was delicious.
Everything was amazing!
Like new renovations/upgrades . Overall great place all year - especially comforting in winter . Background music was great but seemed a little loud this time . One of my favorite places .
I was hoping for a bigger refresh with the renovations. New tile, some new furniture... not much of a renovation! Food was good, we tried a few new dishes.
It was my first time visiting Cilantro and I had a wonderful time! The server helped with suggesting a bottle of wine from their large wine list that pairs well with our entire meal. All the staff was extremely friendly and efficient which must be a necessity due to the fact that the restaurant was packed all night!
Food is always fantastic, service awesome and the ambiance warm and inviting!
My favourite place for a friend gathering...
Everything was so good on the 6 course Valentine’s Day menu except the short rib. It was way too salty. It won’t prevent me from coming back .
My wife and I had a wonder Valentine’s Day dinner. Great food and reasonably priced. Very happy with the new renovation and menu. Most definitely will be back in the near future.
As always it never disappoints. New renovations look great! Great service as always and an amazing meal. Hands down my favourite restaurant in this city!
It was opening night after renovation of restaurant and restaurant was running smoothly ! We we’re celebrating my niece B day and she really like the restaurant and she will be back
Excellent beet salad. Smiling service. Bit on the noisy side.
My family and I we spend New Year eve at Cilantro and dinner was awesome
This is my favourite restaurant and I’m waiting for special opening after the renovations in January and February 2018
Such good service, weather was super cold so we almost had the restaurant to ourself!! Food and wine was amazing
We loved the restaurant, especially the upper level was cosy. Service forgot to tell us that they had run out of one of the ingredients on the specialties platter, which was kind of annoying since we were so looking forward to it. No special apologies, no reduction in price or other effort I make it up.
Atmosphere was ruined by jersey wearing patrons talking loudly about restroom gender bylaws.... what a let down.
It is ideal place for business lunch although I enjoyed having dinner with my family in the evening couple times. The food is great, wine list endless, overall nice, cozy spot in convenience location.
Wonderful restaurant that I have been visiting for more than 25 years. Continues high standard, knowledgeable servers, great wine list, good food, nice atmosphere.
Never eaten before, but saw some of the reviews, and wanted to taste the pear and gorgonzola pizza - very creative, and tasty ... mmmm. Service was great, and we had nice bar stool seats in the back. I would like to come back.
We hadn't been to Cilantro's for a few years. Decided to come back to an old favourite and were not disappointed.
Absolutely amazing food and spectacular service! Will definitely be back and will recommend to colleagues and obviously friends. Thanks for all your amazing recommendations, we loved everything.
P.S sorry for our rowdie husbands 😉
It's always great and has been for decades. I now live in Vancouver but visit Calgary regularly and try to experience Calgary's evolving food scene. While there's many great restos in Calgary, Cilantro offers a fair priced wine list with reasonable depth as well as excellent food offerings in a lovely two-story older building, with an outdoor deck. The mushroom soup is hearty and perfect for those cold Prairie nights. The pear and cheese pizza is a long time favour and three out of five of us had it and weren't disappointed. Our waiter was outstanding. He loved his job and it showed. He seemed to magically just show up when we needed him!
Sister restaurant of the now closed Divinos. Such a disappointment as the food was very poor. The menu selection and preparation cannot compare to other dining experiences in Calgary. There is no desire to return and no recommendation given.
Very good food and loved the fact that our waiter let us choose the pace we wanted to get our courses. However, halfway through our meal we lost our waiter to the rest of the tables when things got busy as the evening wore on.
Food was amazing and service was great as well. I see a return trip to this restaurant in my future.
Good food and nice ambiance.
Overall, nice place with good service. Food was good but not great. Found it to be overpriced.
Hi my family and I we made the reservation for 5 to celebrate my sister in law and Brother 67 anniversary and mine B day and we requested table upstairs !
After 10 days I received message on answering machine that our table was moved down stairs cause there is a party of 18 celebrating B day ?
We did have good food that night but our table was next to room where waiters used frequently so it was lots of traffic at our table
So we will not be returning to your restaurant again as I think this situation wasn’t handled properly and with class
An excellent and comfortable place for a meal with friends. It is not noisy. Some excellent wines and knowledgeable staff. Parking in the back even with the 17th ave. construction going on.
The food was very good. I had a pasta dish that was piping hot, which is something that I am often disappointed with in other restaurants. If I had to be critical, the pricing of the pasta is a little high given the size of the serving and in comparison to the meat entrees. The service was excellent. The server was very friendly and did not make us feel rushed even though our reservation was quite late. He was very attentive and anticipated our every need. The dessert menu was a bit sparse but varied. Overall we had a very pleasant dining experience.
Enjoyed great food and service at Cilantros. We dined on muscles and pizza - delicious. The only thing that good use improving is the lighting. With such low lighting It’s diificult to read the menu - voiced by both the old and young members of our grouo.
The food was extremely good and our server Dustin was very attentive and knowledgeable. we had 2 appetizers, drinks and 2 entrees. The overall cost for the night was very low compared to the level of service and the quality of the food, we will most certainly return!
The parking is ridiculous and needs to improved. The construction access is not very well signed.
Soup - over peppered
Pork chop - burnt and over cooked
Service and food were the good parts. Odd wine list...no middle ground. Expensive wines were over priced. Server attempted to help us navigate through list. Seafood pasta was good however I was longing for more seafood. Most enjoyed their main. Time to spend some money on the décor. Restaurant has been open for 29 years and have not updated décor.
Mediocre food, great service. Wouldn’t go back.
Last Friday evening my daughter and I booked a patio reservation. We had a lovely evening, noshed on pizza, salad and a shrimp appetizer. unfortunately the wasps also wanted to share some of our meal , so we switched to a table near the window. Our waiter was sweet and charming and happily accommodated us when we requested another table.
