Freshening up for its 30th Birthday, Cilantro will be closed from January 1, 2018 until February 2018 due to renovations in the casual and cozy restaurant. The renovations will focus mainly on updating the main floor by including new seating, tables, light fixtures and updated colour scheme. We are refreshing it to be a bit more stylish and casual, while still retaining its rustic character and charm.
The menu will be receiving a small refresh as well, as Chef Lancelot Monteiro moves to a more Canadiana style menu by incorporating more elk and bison from CRMR’s own game ranch, as compared to Southwestern California fare. The menu will continue to focus on flat-bread style pizzas and fresh house-made pasta, but infused with CRMR’s signature Rocky Mountain Cuisine.
Complementing the menu is Cilantro’s award-winning wine menu designed by Brad Royale, CRMR Wine Director, as well as a new cocktail menu that will focus on classics with a twist.

Cilantro Ratings and Reviews
We loved the restaurant, especially the upper level was cosy. Service forgot to tell us that they had run out of one of the ingredients on the specialties platter, which was kind of annoying since we were so looking forward to it. No special apologies, no reduction in price or other effort I make it up.
It's always great and has been for decades. I now live in Vancouver but visit Calgary regularly and try to experience Calgary's evolving food scene. While there's many great restos in Calgary, Cilantro offers a fair priced wine list with reasonable depth as well as excellent food offerings in a lovely two-story older building, with an outdoor deck. The mushroom soup is hearty and perfect for those cold Prairie nights. The pear and cheese pizza is a long time favour and three out of five of us had it and weren't disappointed. Our waiter was outstanding. He loved his job and it showed. He seemed to magically just show up when we needed him!
Hi my family and I we made the reservation for 5 to celebrate my sister in law and Brother 67 anniversary and mine B day and we requested table upstairs !
After 10 days I received message on answering machine that our table was moved down stairs cause there is a party of 18 celebrating B day ?
We did have good food that night but our table was next to room where waiters used frequently so it was lots of traffic at our table
So we will not be returning to your restaurant again as I think this situation wasn’t handled properly and with class
The food was very good. I had a pasta dish that was piping hot, which is something that I am often disappointed with in other restaurants. If I had to be critical, the pricing of the pasta is a little high given the size of the serving and in comparison to the meat entrees. The service was excellent. The server was very friendly and did not make us feel rushed even though our reservation was quite late. He was very attentive and anticipated our every need. The dessert menu was a bit sparse but varied. Overall we had a very pleasant dining experience.
The food was extremely good and our server Dustin was very attentive and knowledgeable. we had 2 appetizers, drinks and 2 entrees. The overall cost for the night was very low compared to the level of service and the quality of the food, we will most certainly return!
Service and food were the good parts. Odd wine list...no middle ground. Expensive wines were over priced. Server attempted to help us navigate through list. Seafood pasta was good however I was longing for more seafood. Most enjoyed their main. Time to spend some money on the décor. Restaurant has been open for 29 years and have not updated décor.
Last Friday evening my daughter and I booked a patio reservation. We had a lovely evening, noshed on pizza, salad and a shrimp appetizer. unfortunately the wasps also wanted to share some of our meal , so we switched to a table near the window. Our waiter was sweet and charming and happily accommodated us when we requested another table.
Very pleased. Every dish we ordered was great. Service is composive yet friendly. I love the fenced patio, very intimate and wonderful. Only thing I can point out is the bathroom doors but it's a fairly miner point. I think this place is a good choice for everyone.
Incredible service all around. Not only was our server attentive and welcoming, but the rest of the staff on shift were such qualities as well. They went above and beyond to make our dinner enjoyable and memorable. The patio was beautiful and we were handed out comfortable blankets once it started too cool down. The food was remarkable and you could tell care was taken into consideration for each dish.
Hadn't been in some time. Have always loved the food, location, patio etc. Service from greeting to waitress was excellent as always. But was not impressed with meal and cost for it. Hopefully a one off. Will try it again but going in with a negative view in a city in recession and full of choices...
