Ciera - MontBleu Resort Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I decided that we would try Ciera steak and chophouse while staying at the montbleu resort because we had never been. The staff was friendly as soon as we walked through the door and we were seated very quickly. Our waiter was great very good conversationalist and a great attitude. The music was just loud enough to hear and was great to listen to. The prices seem high but you get a very big portion of food. We ordered from the Prix fixe menu that they have and we both took our food back to the hotel room because we were full. Overall it was a great meal and we will definitely be going back.
Dining at Ciera on New Year’s Eve was an amazing time! To my surprise, I got engaged only a half hour before our reservation, so what I thought was a dinner for New Years, was a celebration of our engagement and I couldn’t be happier it was at Ciera! Food was spectacular, my now Fiancé claims it was the best steak he’s ever had! I had the Rack of Lamb and it was definitely something to write home about.
Service was wonderful, Fil was a delightful addition to our night. The after dinner coffee and latte options were more than we could have imagined.
Overall, the experience was perfect, the atmosphere was wonderful, food and service was beyond great. Very happy with our choice, will definitely be dining at Ciera again!
Disappointing since advertised as the only 4 star restaurant in So Tahoe. Seating for 2 was in traffic area even after we asked to move. Had to snag server when something needed. Caesar salad was drenched with dressing. Mahi Mahi with shrimp was not available when we ordered after we asked if everything on the menu was available. We were told that the chef forgot to tell the servers. After the meal, we were told that the chocolate soufflé would take 30 minutes...he said he forgot to ask us at the beginning of the meal. Soufflé was so-so, especially after the almost exactly 30 minute wait. Sorry, not the best food or service in So Tahoe by far.
My husband and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary based on online reviews. If you are looking for a nice quiet meal make sure they sit you in the front section. There are private booths there. They sat us in the back. It was nice until they sat a group of about 20 loud men in the room. We could not hear each other. They did move us but that meant that we lost our excellent service. The wait staff at our new location was ok but clearly not at the level as at our first table. The food was great...worth the price. The biggest negative of this restaurant is the fact that the only access to it is by walking through the smoke filled casino. The casino reeked of cigarettes. The restaurant was behind closed doors but you cannot reach it without inhaling many breaths of stench.
I set a special dinner for my anniversary with the plan to ask my girlfriend to marry me. I couldn't have chose a better spot for this. Everything was perfect, food, service, drinks EVERYTHING! Thank your ciera for making that night a memory I will not forget. And she said yes!
First time dining at this lovely restaurant, we were staying at Montbleu and once we arrived we were hungry but we knew places would be closed soon. We quickly made a reservation online and walked out from our room and into the restaurant. Lovely women in front was helpful and got us to your table. The staff was very helpful and kind. Our waiter Pil was amazing! Food was to die for. We will come back to eat there again soon.
Our server was a bit too casual. I appreciate friendly service but he failed to offer wine and was a bit too quick with boring jokes.
We were passed over on the sitting process, even though we had a reservation and were offered waiting at the bar. We had to remind the greeter of our presence.
All in all, a nice dinner but the staff should definitely up their game!
The restaurant is beautiful, perfectly lit, and free of smoke (which is a blessing inside a casino). What lacked, however, was service and food quality. The food was okay bordering on good but definitely not great. We had the Thanksgiving menu, so maybe their regular menu is actually good, but then again it's also not difficult to make Thanksgiving staples. And lastly, their service feels fake and dressed up. The motions were all correct, but in conversing with staff, it became clear that service was not an intention. Personally, I was very disappointed that I was not told until I ordered that half the prix fixe menu had already sold out. Other small grievances added together to make for a less than pleasant dining opportunity.
We had Thanksgiving dinner at Ciera and we couldn't have made a better choice. My wife had the traditional thanksgiving dinner and I had the Long Island Duck. One of the best duck dinner's I've had since Poland where they really know how to serve duck. Duck can be oily and/or dry if not done right and this dinner was neither. It was tasty and moist. My wife enjoyed her turkey with the cranberries, mashed potatoes, yams and butternut squash soup. All helpings were generous enough that we took a doggie bag home. The coffee was excellent, dark and rich with a choice of flavored creams . Only downside for me was I thought the drinks were a bit overpriced. The servers were professional and very cordial. We arrived about 1/2 hour early but they were able to seat us and gave us a private booth. We appreciated the booth very much but as were are in our mid 70's we didn't quite know what to do with all the privacy.
Atmosphere was somewhat stale. Nothing too inventive food wise, but your basic steak house fare. Everything tasted great though. Kinda wish they would have asked me if it was ok to butterfly my steak (I ordered it Medium-Well so I understood why they did it), but it was still really tender. Good place.
Unbelievably attentive staff and amazing food! We were seated, but then moved by the manager to a cozier, more private booth when he found out it was our anniversary. There were curtains we could have closed for more privacy. We were treated amazingly by numerous employees. Oysters were the best we'd ever had, prime rib and filet mignon were cooked perfectly, soup and potatoes were outstanding. They comped us a dessert and brought us a sweet anniversary card. The night ended with chocolate covered strawberries atop a tray with dry ice, creating a beautiful smokey dessert. Highly recommend!
Our table was not ready for 15 mins with a reservation. No apologies at all.
Food is sub standard at best.
I will never go back... oh yeah the abolone steak was definitely no worth the $95.00... bread came after appetizers which were a huge disappointment, when I advised the Mgr, he immediately said he’d take it off the bill. The thing was the money isn’t the issue.... sadly I believe he felt all was well.
This place is an insult to anyone expecting 3 or 4 star service.
Go next door to the Steak house at Harrahs and take some lessons from Chef, servers and busboys!
I won’t ever return.
From Bobby at the bar, to all of the wait staff.....this was a wonderful experience. The food was above expectations, the wine list was extensive, and the ambiance was very pleasing. We would definitely recommend it to a friend, and will return when we are in the area. Thank you for such a nice evening...........Mike and Debby
Ciera is a gem in an otherwise drab hotel casino. The wait service was attentive and professional and the ambiance was a refuge from the chaos outside. The menu consists of prix fix options and the a la carte. The prix fix is an amazing value considering the quality of the entrées.
