Cielo Ratings and Reviews
My wife requested Cielo for her birthday dinner. Reading some previous reviews, I wasnt sure of what to expect, especially on service. But the service was great . Our waiter was informative and attentive. I never felt rushed or forgotten. The food was excellent. Overall a very enjoyable evening.
Server took a while to great our table. He wasn’t very friendly at first, he did not ask us what brought us in or if it was our first time. Unlike the host he was interested in knowing what brought us in and even recommended a appetizer. The manager brought us our drink and nonchalantly started questioning my age and also gave me a background lesson on the rules for restaurants serving minors. I mentioned to him I got carded and if he’d like to see my ID because I’m highly aware of the rules, I use to work in restaurants. He finally left me alone. The server became friendly towards the end. My experience was not overall great. I probably will not be returning.
What a place and view! Seated right away, had reservations, immediately greeted by the waiter Douglas. For being first time visitor, Douglas explained the menu thoroughly to us.
The food, filet and bone in rib eye were cooked to perfection and tasted great. Would love to go often, but on the expensive side, but definitely worth it.
If you want to go to a place with great steaks and atmosphere, Cielo is the place to go!
Absolutely fabulous. Great steaks. Super friendly staff, attentive servers, great old fashion cocktail. Manager Bob helped us select a bottle of wine - fairly priced for a restaurant as well. He informed us that they are able to sell bottles of wine retail To Go. He discounted the two bottles which was an amazing find for us.
We will return in the very near future. A very mixed audience of diners to watch while you enjoy your steak.
I expected this to be a dressy dining experience, as stated in the dress code on your website. However, most of the tables were occupied by people who looked as if they were dining at McDonalds or another fast-food place. I knew when making the reservation that it would be expensive, but found that the food didn't warrant the high price. If I go again it will be during lunch so that I can take advantage of the view, which was non-existent because of the light reflection on the windows. Also, it was very noisy and not helped by the piano which was in the center of the dining room and right next to our table.
Felt rushed by bartender to go to our table even though we came 45 minutes early to relax and have a drink. My husband ribeye was chewy and he really loves ribeye but didn't like his the night we had dinner at Cielo. He chose not to say anything because he didn't want to wait for new steak. My Lobster Mac & Cheese & root vegetables were great. Our server was very nice.
Overall, a wonderful dining experience. The wait staff was attentive without being pushy, the food was wonderful, and the live piano was a great addition to the evening. My date and I were having fun trying to place the songs he was playing, and it made for a very entertaining evening. The waitress even went as far as giving us the name of the Malbec I ordered, which was amazing! Just a wonderful dining experience!
Martin our waiter was unprofessional asked if my husband wanted to lick the plate, he was unattentive, made a huge fuss to split the bill (took 30 minutes) and made excuses for poor service as if the restaurant was really busy. I felt our table was his chore and he really acted like we didnt understand the level of dining we were experiencing. I don't understand why Cielo harbors this behavior from their staff or is unaware of it. I will not be returning to this place as it boast to be a fine dining restaurant while the staff behaves otherwise, terrible waiter; All the other staff was great.
Came here with my daughter, son-in-law, toddler grandson & infant granddaughter. Although it wasn’t our primary choice to bring the kids, we had no option due to no available child care at the time. As wary as we were to brave a “fancy dinner” outing with small children, we took our chances anyway. Surprisingly it turned out pretty great mainly because of our excellent waiter Robert, who was not only exceedingly friendly, but accommodating as well. He made us feel so welcome & quickly dispelled any fear of being scorned for bringing small children to such a nice restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious & every morsel was enjoyed with delight by us all, including my toddler grandson! The highlight of our meal was the Cielo Warm Butter Cake dessert, which made it worth all of the worry of spoiling ours & the other diners experience there. Kudos to Robert & the Cielo staff for making our dinner experience so wonderful!
Came here for a nice dinner with my husband & daughter, food was great, our server was very attentive to us and helped answer any questions we had about the menu. Could not have asked for a better dinner. We eat out frequently, and this was one on the top 5 places we've eaten as a whole. would never guess that such a great restaurant would be there in the Morongo Casino. If you don't plan on staying there but want a great dinner and your near the area or passing through to the desert, this is a great place to go for a nice dinner or special occasion.
Martin was the BEST waiter. Steak was juicy and tasteful. Not too big of fan of warm butter cake due to cream cheese in middle but it wasn’t bad. Cheddar and bacon Mac and cheese along with asparagus was very good. Limousine margarita was good but could have been larger for the price. Ambiance was great and manager Cesar was very welcoming. Will definitely come back. Also get a great view from the 27 th floor.
My wife and I truly enjoyed dining at Cielo. The staff was wonderful, and the food exceeded our expectations. Cesar and Stephanie were very pleasant, and our Server, Jared, was the best. He ensured we had a great experience. He did not miss a beat. We can’t wait to return!
Extremely impressed by location of restaurant and decor. The 27th floor of Morongo is incredible. Hostess also impressed because we arrived early and still were seated right away. Prime rib special was delicious with the macallan 12yr neat and jp chenet sparkling wine. Capped off with the butter cake cream cheese with vanilla bean ice cream and raspberry sauce drizzle. Thank you to Amy for being a great server.
The only issue I have is they don't enforce their dress code. Guys in nasty shorts and flip flops, a couple of guys with hats, etc. If my wife and I get dressed up for a place that requires it and we spend over $250 on a meal please keep the place classy. That is my only complaint.
Server was not engaging, buss boy cleared the oyster plate across my lap and spilled water from the plate on my lap. Nothing like nice clothes with oyster water smell. Manager was loud with the table next to us. Slow food service. All in all I got much better service and food at the coffee shop Downstairs. I would give 1/2 stars if possible. Food was over salted and slow.
Never ventured up to the top of the Marango hotel casino to eat at Ceilio. Wow what a view! Best view in SoCa from a restaurant. Amy and the entire staff could not have been better. My wife and I agree that the staff seemed genuinely interested in being friendly. Not phony friendly. Good conversations. Nice bunch. Did I mention the food? If you want top food delivered to your table by great people, this place will impress your wife or girlfriend.
We had a 7:15 PM dinner reservation. We sat at the bar till 8:05 PM because our booth was not ready. Once we were seated it took about 20 minutes for the waiter to take our order and another 55 minutes for our meals to be served. At the conclusion of the meal I asked for the check. It took another 15 minutes to get the check. We waited at the table for 30 minutes without getting my credit card back. It is now after 10 PM. I went up to the front to complain and was informed that I was being unreasonable, the wait time was typical.
I forgot to mention it was a special occasion, it was my wife's birthday. It goes without saying next time we will be taking our business elsewhere!
The halibut was great but the potato next they put it on was greasy it was not needed at all the rib eye was delicious as was the potatoe
Drinks were good particularly the Old Fasioned
We requested window prior to getting there and did not get one we had wanted to change the reservation but they told us it was booked that night the entire time we were there there were a ton of empty tables so we didn’t get that at all
Over all it was good but costly and a very noose restaurant not romantic which is what we were wanting
It was a once in a while spur of the moment choice for dinner we will remember for a long time. We had superb service from Ms. Pilao, Martín, and Josè. The food was outstanding, the wine was a pleasure and the attention to detail for fine dining made this meal a real joy.
