Cielo Restaurant and Bar Ratings and Reviews
I think the restaurant may have had an “off” night. This was my second time dining here and I don’t remember it being this bad. For starters I had a Ceaser Salad, it was very salty, I’ve never had a salad that was seasoned. For the entree I had the Braised Beef Risotto, Risotto is a very tough dish to make and it has to be cooked just right or it’s crucnchy and can taste undercooked, and that’s how it was for me. Other than that the server was great and willing to accommodate us. I declined to let them redeem themselves, but it’s a very nice restaurant , they had live music which was great and I hope this only happened to me and my party.
The ambiance was great but for the price we paid, the five course meal wasn’t worth the money. The pumpkin soup was too sweet and the risotto was undercooked- the rice was hard and crunchy.
I had informed about my daughter’s allergies in advance, but the restaurant didn’t do anything with that information.
I have been there before and the experience has been much better.
Went for 5 course Christmas Eve dinner. Sent 2 courses back barely touched. Bland flavors, thick gluey texture to soup and risotto. Even ruined the beef tenderloin by coating with sickly sweet Madeira sauce. $100 per person for this disappointment. Will NOT return.
Christmas Eve dinner w/ a family of 11. Music was too loud and the kitchen was behind. Although we understood it was a 5 course meal, the timing between the courses took too long. Service was mediocre. We’ve done the Mother’s brunch here several times, but disappointed with the Christmas Eve meal.
The food was delicious, and the staff... ah-mazing!!! I flew from California to St. Louis to catch the Preds vs Blues hockey game, and knowing that I'm a Nashville Predators fan, they surprised me with a custom dessert!!! I must apologize to any patrons around that night, because I think I started squealing with happiness!!! It was such a thoughtful gesture... little touches like this makes Cielo stand apart... with fabulous food coupled by a wonderful experience... who could ask for anything more?!? Oh, and you get an awesome view of the world-renown Gateway Arch!!! Perfection!!!
The service was very good. I was taken aback, however, that some menu items were not available (especially on a Friday night when there has been limited traffic during the day). The alternate choice for my main course was a reasonable substitution, and the meal was prepared and delivered in a timely manner. The wine selections, although good, were pricey.
It was a friend's birthday, and the staff did a good job providing a 'spur of the moment' happy birthday shout-out message with the desert!! That gesture was very much appreciated!!
The band was a bonus! The music selections were good, and they were able to accommodate requests.
The second I walked into the restaurant I was stunned by how beautiful it was. This was my first time there and I chose to go there for my birthday dinner with my friends. We loved every minute of our dinner. From the totally awesome menu that lit up to the gorgeous view outside on the rooftop. The food was defiantly a 10/10 including the price. Our waiter was the best I've had in awhile. Poor guy kept running back and forth. Everything I had asked him he answered with a smile. I will for sure be coming back to eat here. Thank you for the best first time experience. It's one to remember!! :)
Most notably, I was disappointed in the pappardelle noodles this time. I expect a handmade pappardelle to be delicate & this was clunky & thick—almost like a dumpling. The view is always fantastic & the service was good. The grapefruit martinis were delicious. I was just underwhelmed by my entree.
We had an outstanding waiter, Matt which really made the experience. The food was delicious and each dish, that was supposed to be hot, came out at the perfect temperature.
We chose to sit outside, which was a mistake as we had kids running around the pool area which detracted from the normally great ambiance.
I was so disappointed at their 62 dollar brunch. We are open to paying top dollar and have had amazing brunch experiences throughout the country. However, this was so disappointing. Powdered eggs! Very few options and certainly not what you would expect for that price! One carving station - roast beef and one omelet station. The bottomless bloody marys and mimosas are a great selling feature but not at the expense of the food.
It's really a good place for dating. The service is perfect and food is delicious. My girlfriend and I happened to leave our clothes in our car after valet parking. So we asked the cielo reception where we could go to the parking lot for picking up the clothes. And someone just helped us to pick them. It's really good service! And the Italian food is very good. The price is high but it's worthing having dinner here.
My husband and I both thought the food was mediocre. Italian food with French proportions. I had ONE bite of lobster in my lobster pasta. The only reason I would recommend it is the view and rooftop ambience is wonderful. The service was very good and they even brought me a shawl when it was a little cold. If the quality of the food was better, I would be more enthusiastic about returning. If you are in your 20s or 30s, you will probably enjoy the DJ on the adjacent rooftop area. For me, the bass was too much and distracted from the ambiance. I would return for a cocktail, but not the food.
For a brunch costing this much you should have more food options of high quality. Tiny salad shrimp mixed in macaroni and cheese was pretty sad. Oysters were not cleaned properly, no crab as pictured. It was a big diddappointment.
In St Louis for 4 nights. Dinner was so good , that went back for brunch on Sat. Beautiful views night and day. Most importantly, food was fresh, innovative and delicious. Service was good not the best but we were in no hurry to leave. It was a 95 degree day but was a great breeze from the river.
Everything was setup lovely for brunch, the staff attentive, friendly and smiling... The food displayed very nicely... Overall the food was ok... For the price one would expect more than okay... For Four Seasons one would expect exceptional... The grill... Food half cooked (I get it)... However the chef maning the grill should know how long it takes to fully cook chicken, and also ask the question...How would you like your steak? Just courtesy... The restaurant looks great, ambiance, lovely...Food needs some attention... Come on chef!
