In Florence, small restaurants serve the neighborhood and its residents where the Alimentaris and Tattorias are places for family and friends. Like in Italy, expect to find a little hidden gem, simple and rich. Located a few steps down, on the swath of Sixth Avenue sidewalk known as Father Fagan Park, this little snuggery has a winning air of relaxed authenticity.
Ciccio, is a neighborhood Italian Alimentari (Food) & Bar, featuring the specialties of Florentine cuisine through its quality prepared ingredients. The idea of this restaurant is just the simple elegance of traditional Tuscan food using local ingredients. Signature bread alongside a perfect piece of pecorino, and a glass of Tuscan wine to enjoy alongside Florentine dishes such as: Panzanella, Pappa al Pomodoro, Ribollita. Ciccio specializes in house-made pastas and Florentine favorites with the Tuscan idea that hunger is the best cook and where a “full stomach comforts the soul.”
The food was outstanding the wait staff was outstanding. The ambience at the restaurant was everything we expected. I Would recommend Ciccio to anyone who is looking for a good Italian dish in Manhattan.
Excellent Tuscan simply prepared and unpretentious. Friendly service. Old school bistro ambiance.
This was my 3rd visit; favorites so far are the bread salad and octopus starter, the tagliatelle with polpettini, the pasta cooked in Chianti, the lemon pasta with baccala (miraculously, not salty!). The Chianti reserva is lovely, and goes well with all dishes. Intimate, casual, low-key; perfect spot for pre- or post-Film Forum/IFC screenings. Will definitely be coming back.
A great, little Italian nook with a European feel. Food was delicious and our waiter was very nice and helped me decide which pasta I wanted. There was a nice energy but not too loud. My friends also enjoyed the evening.
Really great--delicious pasta with seafood--fresh, interesting, well prepared. Fish with thin potato shavings on it was excellent also-very flavorful.
Food incredible - secret spot - great crowd - fashion scene -
Fav spot in town
Staff pulled together a great surprise bday. Tira The owner/host was especially nice. Regular service left something to be desired. Food was below what I would
Great all around experience!
As usual --- both service and food were great!
Awesome experience. The service was amazing and the food was incredible. Will be going back
We have been fans since the restaurant opened; and make sure we have at least one meal there when we are in the Village. The menu is varied; the pasta is always freshly homemade, and the prices are reasonable. Their a-typical lasagna is stunningly delicious. Service is excellent. It's on a pleasant block in Greenwich Village, and you feel that you have been away from the hurly burly of the city.
Love this place- quality food in a relaxed atmosphere and you can get a table.
Delicious fresh pasta, really great. Friendly staff and good vibe
Great service and the food was very tasty. The time it took to get our food was too long considering that there were not very many customers at the time. A little loud, but not too bad, however the seating was uncomfortable and the tables too close together to have a quiet conversation at lunch.
Went for dinner this past Saturday; we were a party of 7. Most of the dishes were very tasty but we thought the portions were small for the price. I had gnocchi with manilla clams. There were about 15-20 gnocchis and about 10 little clams for $23.00. My husband had the pasta with meatballs and he thought the meatballs tasted mostly of just bread. The rest of our party seemed to like what they ate but were not too impressed. If this is a local restaurant for you I would give it a try but if not local would not go out of my way to try it.
We love Ciccio! It is a gem! Absolutely delicious food, great people working there and great atmosphere. Also excellent cocktails and wine list! One of my favorite places!
Quickly greeted and sat - cocktails came right away - no pressure to order immediately- water glasses always filled - food was delicious !
Great food and friendly service in a cute restaurant!! It’s a total win.
Everything tasted wonderful. The food felt very authentic. The people were friendly and welcoming. We definitely plan to go back when we’re back in NYC.
The food was very good and authentic. We had the Gnudi and the potato encrusted fish..both well prepared and presented. Service was a bit slow. Will definitely return.
One of the best places we’ve eaten at in this city. Great service, ambience is nice, not to loud with good music. Food is spectacular as are the prices. Will definitely be back here.
I've been to Ciccio's before and have always been happy with service and food. We had a cheese and meat board and for the second time I was surprised at the size of the board for the price of $21. It is a good deal and could feed 4 as an appetizer. I had a vegetable lasagna that was excellent and rivals my own and others had a seafood risotto and a pasta carbonara. Everything was great. A good bottle of wine at a reasonable price. Maddie our waitress was charming and accommodating. I will return
Ciccio is a small place with a great vibe and excellent food and service. The homemade pastas and gnudi are wonderful and truly special in a city where the competition is tough!
What a charming, authentic Tuscan restaurant! The food was excellent and the wait staff was very knowledgeable and friendly (they also humored me practicing my Italian!). Definitely am adding this to my return list.
Wonderful food. The best part was the impeccable service. Everyone was attentive and everything was perfectly timed!
The food was well-prepared and flavorful. We shared live pate appetizer, and each of us had a pasta dish. My linguine, lemon, caper, ...was so fresh and delicious. My husband thoroughly enjoyed a thicker pappardelle with gorganzola. The waiter's wine suggestion was on point. I'd happily go to Ciccio again.
We enjoyed Ciccio very much. Very authentic!!
Discovered this hidden gem 2 weeks ago. This was my second trip. It’s really good.
Food was ok. Good but wouldn’t go again
My new favorite restaurant. The staff we welcoming and helpful. The food was fantastic. The ambiance was great too.
Super cozy, friendly staff, extremely authentic Florentine food! Great wine, energy and flavor! All around great place.
I’ve eaten here many times, and it is always a great experience. You always eat well here, and the cozy atmosphere and friendly professional service is top of class.
Fabulous food , great service, great value, neighborhood gem.
Third time at this restaurant and truly enjoy the food, considering at had recently visited Italy it was a nice reminder of the food there.
Loved the meatballs! And seasonal salad was amazing! Shaved zucchini and asparagus off the chart!
I thought our server Mateo was terrific - professional and genuinely very helpful. Wonderful food and great restaurant !
The food was absolutely delicious, and the presentation was so well done. Our panzanella looked like a little festive cake. We had eaten here several years ago, stumbling in during a rainstorm, without noting the name. We had a delicious meal, and a wonderful time. I was so happy to rediscover this restaurant, so beautifully italian, several years later. We can't wait to go back!
Good food and drinks
Excellent service, excellent food. Perfect for our date night!
