Cibo Wine Bar - Yorkville
Great food and service. We appreciated how they felt with a large group of 12! Thank you!
1) Seating Requests: I had specifically requested a booth on the reservation prior to my arrival and we were still seated by the window where the draft was unbearable. We asked to move due to the cold draft and were not accommodated as there was another party waiting (even though there were other tables that were empty even until we left). We were then told we could move tables halfway through our meal after my partner had to inform the server that I couldn't bear the cold anymore. My hands were frozen.
2) The food: The Margaritta pizza was delicious but the Gnocchi and Seafood Risotto were not the best. Food had a canned tomato flavour and portions were tiny. We have tried many Italian places for food and this just missed the mark.
3) Service: I am not sure if the server was having a bad day, or if she had worked a long day but there was no effort made to help us determine vegetarian options for my partner. We had to constantly wait for our water to be refilled to the point we asked the gentlemen who dropped off our food to just leave bottle of water on our table. My drink arrived after the pizza came. Just overall, the service was poor and not at all the caliber it should be at.
Overall: Try another place for Italian unless you are desperate for a pizza. For the price and quality we were expecting a lot more, and this spot definitely did not meet our expectations. We will not be back and will not recommend this spot to my friends.
Food was okay but $25 for a pasta dish is pricey and the portions were on the small side. Wine prices we also pricey for 5 oz glass. Biggest problem was that we were seated in the basement level beside the bathroom. Zero ambience! Been here before but this time I was very disappointed.
Fantastic food and service!
Enjoyed Valentine’s Day dinner here. Great food, drinks, and atmosphere! We were seated right away and our server was very attentive, and helpful. Will definitely come back!
We went on Valentine’s Day and we were disappointed with the whole experience. Our appetizer and meal were delivered at the same time and were generally rushed to get out of there as quickly as we could. I suspect the staff were told to turn the table as quickly as possible so that they could get as many guests as possible through to take advantage of the fact that is was Valentine’s Day. We actually had our first date here and thought it would be a great place to celebrate Valentine’s Day...clearly got that one wrong.
Super small portion sizes on both the salad and pasta dish. Poor value for what turned out to be an underwhelming , expensive meal.
Definitely won’t be going back.
First time going. Would 100% Return. Thank you Jordan for the amazing service!
Really courteous service, our server sent over a wine guy when we were obviously clueless about what to order, and it made for a really fun experience! Food and atmosphere was great, go in expecting to indulge a bit ($$) and it'll be a great time.
This is one of my favourite restaurants! I come here all the time. I had taken my daughter out for Valentine’s Day. We had a great time. The food is always amazing. I wasn’t thrilled about the seating arrangement. The couple next to me was so close we could literally touch them. It was very uncomfortable. I wish we had some more space to enjoy our meal.
Excellent Service from staff members like Alana and Excellent Food like always !
Good Italian food. Extensive wine list.
Food and drinks were great. Service leaves some to be desired. Didn’t check in on us; we had ordered a bottle of wine but didn’t come to help us pour all evening. I ordered a latte which was, if we are being honest, barely a milky coffee. The milk wasn’t frothed. The coffee was hot. It had spilled onto the plate when set on the table. When I mentioned my disappointment (after flagging her down cuz you know, she didn’t bother to check in on us), she had a terrible attitude about it. As if I was personally attacking her when really what she served didn’t even meet the minimum requirement or definition of what a latte should be. 3/10 service
We visit Toronto several times a year and every visit includes an evening at Cibo Wine Bar in Yorkville. The food here is very good as is the atmosphere. However, it is the team that makes each visit special. They are warm and welcoming and provide top notch service in a perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism.
We had a delicious dinner at Cibo. Shared a delicious Margherita pizza. The crust was exactly how I like it. Was with my daughter who likes simple things but would have liked to have had a more exciting pizza.I also had the Lamb Ragu pasta that was out of this world.
I will be back quickly.
great food, price and service overall. Good ambience as well.
Had a very enjoyable time with our group. We could hear ourselves talk, loved how the table was square so we could all see each other and all be part of conversation. The food was excellent!!! Service was friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back.
Thank you for your positive feedback. We are thrilled you enjoyed your dining experience at Cibo Wine Bar. We look forward to seeing you again very soon! Best, Sarah K. Marketing Coordinator Liberty Entertainment Group
Good food but appetizer was a bit cold . Service was fair
Love the orechcciete and great service when we had a wrong dish (they quickly delivered). It is a cosy place but can be loud in terms of noise level.
It was very very hard to hear people across the table. It was very loud, we were sitting downstairs. I would not go there for my birthday again because we couldn’t hear each other.
The sommelier also was not that great. He recommended a very sweet wine when we told him we don’t like sweet, but the wine he brought was sweet, sweeter than a riesling. We got the feeling he wasn’t that experienced.
We had to pretty much hang on to our plates, the buzzer was rushing us and didn’t even ask us if we were done.
The server was good, but she could have offered to split the bill before bringing the bill without BEING Asked!
We felt like you wanted us to leave! It broke the party! You just don’t do these things!
I hope these help you improve.

Every visit to Cibo seems to get better. The food is amazing, the service is great and the ambience truly satisfies. Looking forward to the next memorable evening at this fine establishment.
Good location. Comfortable seating. Server was friendly and helpful. Food was on salty side (3 pasta dishes).
Great food, a little too noisy
Loud but food and service were great!
Great food and service. There bottle of pinot noir that was recommended was fantastic, too.
Sommelier was excellent
We ate there last Saturday. I made a reservation probably a week in advanced. When we arrived they led us to a small 2 person table that looked like it was placed where it was placed just before. I asked to be moved to a booth or larger table and was told we couldn’t as other parties were coming. When we left, I passed by the four empty booths (they were empty when we arrived also) and saw a couple being led to a booth, who when walked in were led to a small table for two. I guess she asked and they were allowed... not impressed at all. Food is average and service also. Time to find a new Italian place to make my go to which shouldn’t be hard as there is an abundance in that area.
Amazing food. Quality and great selection. The Yorkville location’s lower level is a bit cold and has an occasional basement/bad odour but it wasn’t enough to put us off. Had a great meal. Would go back but prefer upstairs or other locations.
Great food and customer service! I will be coming back for future events.
One of my very favorite places in TO. Love the food, and service is always great, prompt, and without staff constantly hovering over the guests.
Only problem is that in a winter it can get bit chilly sitting on the ground level, close to the glass walls.
The burrata was great as was the pizza. The pasta was lacking flavour and was very bland. I ordered the penne with rose sauce and pancetta. I was also surprised they did not give each table bread to start. Service was good, they were nice
Kept having to waive down our server. My pasta was over cooked and watery.
Great evening until
Convenient location. Meal was rushed.
Lovely atmosphere. Great food. Excellent value.
There were 3 of us at dinner last night.
Each of our three main courses were well below par!
So disappointing. I’ve been here before and never had such a bad experience.
Great Location, it was our second time going back. Love the seats by the pizza oven.
Have visited the King West and Miami locations. The food doesn't disappoint.
However I'd like to point out service at the Yorkville location needs to be chiseled.
Simply put...if I order a salad along with my dinner, I should be allowed to finish my salad before my dinner is 'forced' on me. This past time, I was in the middle of my salad when the main course arrived. Hot dinner - cold salad! I was neither here nor there. This is something the serve staff should be on top of whilst bringing out the food.

Amazing food every time I go! It was half priced wine bottles when we went. Always excited to go back :)
Fantastic service and great food
It was my son’s birthday on New Years Eve and I phoned in before lunch time on the 31st to tell them it was his birthday. I had previously made the reservation on open table Christmas Day and forgot to make it a special occasion.
When we got to the restaurant we were sat at a table directly by the kitchen with loud clanging and banging. We asked to move tables as the restaurant had plenty of tables for three available. The hostess was irritated by our request and when I asked for another table in another area it wasn’t possible because there wasn’t a server on in that area for 15 more minutes. Who organizes a restaurant like that on New Years Eve!
We were given another table that was satisfactory and another minor problem came up immediately. Two of the three people in our party were only having water for the meal and when I asked if the server could leave the glass bottle full of tap water at our he said he wasn’t allowed to by the manager! The water glasses on the table were the size of tiny juice glasses and he expected us to wait for him to come by and fill them. After some convincing he agreed to leave the bottle of tap water. Good thing because we would have been very thirsty if we had to wait for him. Leaving tap water in glass bottles is pretty standard in many restaurants. I’m not sure what the logic was for this restaurant not to do it. All that does is make for many unhappy water drinkers!
Finally there was no acknowledgement at all of my son’s birthday.
Overall we found the restaurant poorly managed and the hostess staff lacking in appropriate social skills.
This is not a place to celebrate a birthday! He was 18 years old.
