The waitress was rude and unprofessional, especially considering that it was not that busy.
Great food and ambiance but the service was lacking
Food was just OK. My lobster ravioli was bland, but girlfriends short rib ravioli was really good. Pizza was just OK as well.
Ambience was really nice and had a good time overall.
Extremely poor service- ruined a special occasion -
Our server, Alanna (not sure how she spells it), was EXCELLENT. She made our experience perfect. The octopus was rubbery. She didn't question it. She took it back right away and suggested an alternative. She knew we were going to a concert and was able to even make the switch within plenty of time for my friend to enjoy her dinner and not feel rushed.
I love excellent service. That paired with good food - we will be going back!
This restaurant is gorgeous and in a great location. The food was tasty and portion sizes were good, not too small for the cost.
I would have loved to give this restaurant full stars but the service unfortunately was not up to par of our expectations. We were there celebrating and constantly were looking out for someone to help us. We could have ordered more drinks and another bottle of wine if anyone was present to take orders. Our server was so cute, smiley and sweet but disappeared most of the night from the lower floor we were on, and the other girl from that floor who you couldn't pay to crack a smile literally walked by looking at us asking her 'excuse me' while waving at her and LEFT. We even had to get up from our table to find someone to give us our bill. I was so embarassed I had planned my special dinner there with my girlfriends and we were actually calling out for help on several occasions because there was only 3 tables with guests on the lower level and no one was serving us. I tipped our server but honestly if I didn't own my own business and felt for service based workers I would have left 0$ because the experience was not good at all. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else.
Great space and exceptional food. Service was inattentive.
Great for work lunch, especially the option to have items switched for vegetarians
Great food and service! Half price bottle of wines before 7 every Thursday is a bonus!
Went with some friends.
Pastas were all excellent, as were the polenta fries and bread.
Bruschetta was rather bland, with only a single basil leaf for 4-5 pieces.
Charcuterie board didn't come with crackers, which was also a bit odd.
Service was great. This must have been my 6th or 7th time there and I've never left disgruntled. Will probably go back.
I went to Cibo with my girlfriend last week and was initially impressed. I stayed impressed throughout the night, however my girlfriend was just not having her food. She got some kind of pasta with mussels, clams and shrimp (I know, don't get seafood anywhere no matter what). She finished most of her plate before realizing that the mussels were either rancid or beginning to be rancid. She wanted to mention this to the server but she was gone for rest of the night until coming back for the bill. Not impressed anymore.
Celebrating a new engagement.
Awesome all around and reasonably priced considering location in Yorkville.
When I made the reservation I specifically asked to be at a table by the window as it was a special occasion being my daughters 19 th birthday.
When we got there the hostess said there weren’t any tables available there and she said she didn’t know how long it would be until one came up. I thought that was unusual considering we were 5 minutes early for our reservation and I thought that’s what reservations were supposed to hold a table for me.
I asked the hostess about sitting at the booths across but she said those were only to be assigned for four people. This was odd as I saw two people sitting at exactly one of the booths I was pointing too. I didn’t want to make a scene as my daughter was there and didn’t want to upset her Then the suggested the high top tables by the bar which was beside a window. My daughter was tired as we had a full day being at the spa and shopping so we decided just sit to there. I also didn’t want to be in the basement because it was quite noisy with large parties.
The waitress came over right away and asked if we wanted drinks. We said just water for now and then we looked over the menus and We ordered two pizzas. The waitress was kind of rude. After that we never saw her. We had finished our water and since we never saw our waitress (most of the tables-near us were unoccupied) our glasses needed a refill so I asked the pizza server to bring us some which he did right away. I was happy with him.
The stools were extremely uncomfortable and our feet could hardly touch the ledge on the chairs so they would hang. My lower back was hurting g so much.
There was no way I wanted to celebrate my daughters birthday there. No appetizers, desert or drinks for that matter. The waitress or hostess didn’t even acknowledge her birthday. So I asked another person for the cheque as our waitress was not around. It was my third and last time going back to this restaurant. The other times we went the staff were very nice with faster service.
Overall is good but a little noisy. Food selection is good and nicely prepared
Great food and service. We appreciated how they felt with a large group of 12! Thank you!
1) Seating Requests: I had specifically requested a booth on the reservation prior to my arrival and we were still seated by the window where the draft was unbearable. We asked to move due to the cold draft and were not accommodated as there was another party waiting (even though there were other tables that were empty even until we left). We were then told we could move tables halfway through our meal after my partner had to inform the server that I couldn't bear the cold anymore. My hands were frozen.
2) The food: The Margaritta pizza was delicious but the Gnocchi and Seafood Risotto were not the best. Food had a canned tomato flavour and portions were tiny. We have tried many Italian places for food and this just missed the mark.
3) Service: I am not sure if the server was having a bad day, or if she had worked a long day but there was no effort made to help us determine vegetarian options for my partner. We had to constantly wait for our water to be refilled to the point we asked the gentlemen who dropped off our food to just leave bottle of water on our table. My drink arrived after the pizza came. Just overall, the service was poor and not at all the caliber it should be at.
Overall: Try another place for Italian unless you are desperate for a pizza. For the price and quality we were expecting a lot more, and this spot definitely did not meet our expectations. We will not be back and will not recommend this spot to my friends.
Food was okay but $25 for a pasta dish is pricey and the portions were on the small side. Wine prices we also pricey for 5 oz glass. Biggest problem was that we were seated in the basement level beside the bathroom. Zero ambience! Been here before but this time I was very disappointed.
Fantastic food and service!
Enjoyed Valentine’s Day dinner here. Great food, drinks, and atmosphere! We were seated right away and our server was very attentive, and helpful. Will definitely come back!
We went on Valentine’s Day and we were disappointed with the whole experience. Our appetizer and meal were delivered at the same time and were generally rushed to get out of there as quickly as we could. I suspect the staff were told to turn the table as quickly as possible so that they could get as many guests as possible through to take advantage of the fact that is was Valentine’s Day. We actually had our first date here and thought it would be a great place to celebrate Valentine’s Day...clearly got that one wrong.
Super small portion sizes on both the salad and pasta dish. Poor value for what turned out to be an underwhelming , expensive meal.
Definitely won’t be going back.
First time going. Would 100% Return. Thank you Jordan for the amazing service!
Really courteous service, our server sent over a wine guy when we were obviously clueless about what to order, and it made for a really fun experience! Food and atmosphere was great, go in expecting to indulge a bit ($$) and it'll be a great time.
Enjoyed the lobster ravioli and a bottle of wine with a friend. Service was good and quick. Our server and the sommelier were kind and understanding.
This is one of my favourite restaurants! I come here all the time. I had taken my daughter out for Valentine’s Day. We had a great time. The food is always amazing. I wasn’t thrilled about the seating arrangement. The couple next to me was so close we could literally touch them. It was very uncomfortable. I wish we had some more space to enjoy our meal.
Excellent Service from staff members like Alana and Excellent Food like always !
Good Italian food. Extensive wine list.
Food and drinks were great. Service leaves some to be desired. Didn’t check in on us; we had ordered a bottle of wine but didn’t come to help us pour all evening. I ordered a latte which was, if we are being honest, barely a milky coffee. The milk wasn’t frothed. The coffee was hot. It had spilled onto the plate when set on the table. When I mentioned my disappointment (after flagging her down cuz you know, she didn’t bother to check in on us), she had a terrible attitude about it. As if I was personally attacking her when really what she served didn’t even meet the minimum requirement or definition of what a latte should be. 3/10 service
We visit Toronto several times a year and every visit includes an evening at Cibo Wine Bar in Yorkville. The food here is very good as is the atmosphere. However, it is the team that makes each visit special. They are warm and welcoming and provide top notch service in a perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism.
We had a delicious dinner at Cibo. Shared a delicious Margherita pizza. The crust was exactly how I like it. Was with my daughter who likes simple things but would have liked to have had a more exciting pizza.I also had the Lamb Ragu pasta that was out of this world.
I will be back quickly.
great food, price and service overall. Good ambience as well.
Had a very enjoyable time with our group. We could hear ourselves talk, loved how the table was square so we could all see each other and all be part of conversation. The food was excellent!!! Service was friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back.
Thank you for your positive feedback. We are thrilled you enjoyed your dining experience at Cibo Wine Bar. We look forward to seeing you again very soon! Best, Sarah K. Marketing Coordinator Liberty Entertainment Group
Good food but appetizer was a bit cold . Service was fair
Love the orechcciete and great service when we had a wrong dish (they quickly delivered). It is a cosy place but can be loud in terms of noise level.
It was very very hard to hear people across the table. It was very loud, we were sitting downstairs. I would not go there for my birthday again because we couldn’t hear each other.
The sommelier also was not that great. He recommended a very sweet wine when we told him we don’t like sweet, but the wine he brought was sweet, sweeter than a riesling. We got the feeling he wasn’t that experienced.
We had to pretty much hang on to our plates, the buzzer was rushing us and didn’t even ask us if we were done.
The server was good, but she could have offered to split the bill before bringing the bill without BEING Asked!
We felt like you wanted us to leave! It broke the party! You just don’t do these things!
I hope these help you improve.
