Cibo Wine Bar Yonge Street Ratings and Reviews
Apparently the fridges died and we couldn’t order anything with chicken or bolognese sauce or any dessert. For having a reservation for over 24hours it would have been nice if we were notified. Not the best impressions for a nice night out when we have guests in from out of town. Never been to this place without something being sold out or omitted from the menu...
We had friends in from out of town and so we were looking for a relaxing evening catching up with old friends.
We were seated on the top level. I noticed that there was a considerable draft under the table. I am generally not a cold person but I was starting to feel the cold air on my legs and feet. Other members of our party was also experiencing this.
The gentleman on the table adjacent to us spoke to us about the cold he was experiencing too. I spoke with our server who presided to tell us “it’s been like this since it opened. We have spoken with the manager however nothing gets fixed. My ankles get really cold when I work on this level.”
The service was at a snails pace. The pasta was luke warm when it finally arrived. By the time dessert came our feet and legs were like ice. I have never experienced such an uncomfortable dining experience.
We moved tables but the cold was still circling around our feet and legs.
I don’t feel that the situation was handled in the right way. There was no offer of a solution to resolve the frigid conditions. What should of been a lovely evening catching up with friends turned into a cold uncomfortable dining experience. Our evening was ruined by these awful conditions.
A very disappointing evening.
the food was VERY average - I had the lobster ravioli which was dry and the texture was poor...like minced lobster - the sauce was OK but nothing special. I also had the Ahi-tuna arugula salad which had almosgt no salade dressing, the tuna was below average and the greens semed old. The meal was almost $50 for lunch - ridiculous for the quality. what happened to your lunch special? There was only ONE salt shaker in the ENTIRE restautrant according to the waitress. I live in Ottawa....and you say there are no good restaurants in Ottawa...HELLO!! would not recommend
The food was very good. But service was horrible. One of the girls ordered another drink it never came. We waited over 1/2 an hour for our bill. We noticed other tables got bread shortly after they sat down. We had to ask for it.
Overall the food was very good. I just think we got a bad server, because the others seemed good.
The food was very tasty and well presented. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. The table was too small for five people making conversation difficult for those at the other end of the table. The noise level with the background music is very high .
I love CIBO at Yonge and Eglinton. They are always really great at everything. This time they went over and above for me and my family, and I will always keep coming back. I come with my girlfriends for drinks or dinner, I go with family, I don't bring my youngest son because the environment, for me, is more relaxed and quiet. It's a great place for a date, too. They have excellent food and the staff is always very knowledgable and helpful.
Cibo is an amazing restaurant if you’re looking for Italian food and an intimate setting with great ambiance. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. It is the perfect place to dine whether your dining in a pair or group. I would definitely go back and recommend to all.
Tried it 3 times now. The first time just after it opened I found a piece of steel wool in my risotto. The other 2 times my food was over cooked (both times I had seafood). The pasta was also over cooked which I was surprised as being an Italian restaurant its the one thing they should know how to
Cook properly. Beautiful space and good location. Just wish the food was worth going for.
I went to Cibo this past week to surprise my friends and ask them to be bridesmaids for my wedding, and the manager went above and beyond to make it special and executed the surprise flawlessly. It was also Lobster Tuesday and the food was amazing!!! It was a perfect night start to finish. (I also chose Cibo for it because I've been there a few times and it's always amazing)!
It was pleasant, however we were seated in booth which did make it slightly uncomfortable for four (4) large men and myself. I did bring it to Hostess' attention and we were quickly moved to a table for six but discovered that benches were very low making it difficult for myself being 5'5 to feel that I'm level to the dinning table. Natalie was very kind to get me a pillow for elevation. We'll definitely be back to the bar to visit Natalie!!!!
