Cibo Wine Bar Yonge Street Ratings and Reviews
The food was very tasty and well presented. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. The table was too small for five people making conversation difficult for those at the other end of the table. The noise level with the background music is very high .
I love CIBO at Yonge and Eglinton. They are always really great at everything. This time they went over and above for me and my family, and I will always keep coming back. I come with my girlfriends for drinks or dinner, I go with family, I don't bring my youngest son because the environment, for me, is more relaxed and quiet. It's a great place for a date, too. They have excellent food and the staff is always very knowledgable and helpful.
Cibo is an amazing restaurant if you’re looking for Italian food and an intimate setting with great ambiance. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. It is the perfect place to dine whether your dining in a pair or group. I would definitely go back and recommend to all.
Tried it 3 times now. The first time just after it opened I found a piece of steel wool in my risotto. The other 2 times my food was over cooked (both times I had seafood). The pasta was also over cooked which I was surprised as being an Italian restaurant its the one thing they should know how to
Cook properly. Beautiful space and good location. Just wish the food was worth going for.
I went to Cibo this past week to surprise my friends and ask them to be bridesmaids for my wedding, and the manager went above and beyond to make it special and executed the surprise flawlessly. It was also Lobster Tuesday and the food was amazing!!! It was a perfect night start to finish. (I also chose Cibo for it because I've been there a few times and it's always amazing)!
It was pleasant, however we were seated in booth which did make it slightly uncomfortable for four (4) large men and myself. I did bring it to Hostess' attention and we were quickly moved to a table for six but discovered that benches were very low making it difficult for myself being 5'5 to feel that I'm level to the dinning table. Natalie was very kind to get me a pillow for elevation. We'll definitely be back to the bar to visit Natalie!!!!
Quite disappointed in brunch service and food options. Considering it is a buffet there is no reason we needed to ask time and time again for coffee refills. Plus why did
we need to see other tables with fresh focaccia and have to ask for it. Great desserts but cheap grocery store quality croissants. Only carved meat was an insanely fatty lamb. For $35 pp would have expected a lot better including coffee! Heard dinner here is great. Brunch not so much.
Always a great option for brunch! To ensure a better meal, make sure you get things freshly made instead of having plates that have been sitting for a while. Cibo brunch consists of Italian favourites and a ton of dessert options! A big appetite is definitely needed to truly have the best brunch experience.
I have been to this restaurant a few times and I must say.. the waitress went out of her way to make my date and I feel welcome.
She was warm, sincere and kind .
She address us with a warm smile and interacted as if we’re close friends than a customer. Thank you for making my time there memory.
Overall experience was very poor. We tried the restaurant 2 times. The first one the food was ok, but service was really bad. The second time we made a reservation, arrived on time and they did not have a table. After 30 minutes waiting we decide to leave the restaurant.
A great evening because of the guests we brought with us. The service was good but th food was ok at best, overpriced for what you receive - vegetables overdone to almost burnt. The tables are too crowded - they try to put too many things on the table leaving no room for apoitizer dishes and side plates not to mention entre plates when they come. Then the wine bottles. Restaurant is more for a quick bite with family or neighbourhood friends not business at all.
The lobster risotto was moderate. Lobster mushy. Fish special was very good. Ravioli lobster was a better lobster option. Server was very good and very patient with the senior at the table. Lighting poor, with a very light menu, hard to read; even with reading glasses.
The restaurant overall is excellent, nice ambiance, good service and decent seating. It's a hip place so like most, music is a bit loud but elsewise the setting is great.
Food is really good, my wife had a terrific gnocchi dish that we've been repeat visitors for as this venue has nailed classic pasta sauces. I was confessionally a bit disappointed with my entree, as I found the lobster ravioli lacking in the title ingredient of lobster, it seemed a bit more like filler than anything else. That being said pasta noodle itself was cooked perfectly and the sauce was again, very well rounded.
Be prepared to pay out higher than average prices for wine by the glass, would highly recommend if there is multiple people at the table getting a bottle as it seems more daily priced.
The food was mediocre at best. The lobster ravioli sauce was very blah ...the pizza arrived burned... the tiramisu was tasteless and the coffee was undrinkable. The ambiance would have been good but we received a table in the upstairs section that had no positive vibes. This restaurant has all the making of a good restaurant but unfortunately we had a very negative experience. The only positive was the great service.
Great time at Cibo! The only downfall was we were seated right in front of the pizza oven which made our time spent at the restaurant SUPER HOT! 🔥 We drank gallons of water that evening, and kept asking the waiter for cups of ice to cool down. The waiter was great about it, but it would have been better to sit somewhere else. Great food this time around though, and the waiter was great at providing recommendations. Thanks!
The waitress was training someone and came to our table quickly. We ordered drinks and she said bread would be coming. About 20-30 minutes later there still was no waitress and no bread. When I got her attention she came over and I asked about the bread and she said it was usually delivered when we ordered our dinner. We ordered then and she finally brought the bread that was burned on the bottom. We ate it as we all were hungry by that point. The food order came quickly and the food was delicious. It took her a long time to bring the bill. I had to get her attention again and ask her for the bill.
The last time I was at the restaurant was on a Saturday evening and we had a terrific waitress who only worked on Saturdays. Disappointing service this time.
